  5. I would say that this whole season was a huge roller coaster. I mean low to middle of the pack expectations to start, losing very close games in OOC to some usual powerhouse schools, losing a tough lead in BG, winning 8 in a row and winning in places we haven't in a long time, losing on the road to a bad Rice team, bouncing back and winning 4 in a row to close out the normal regular season, losing a thriller to LT (One of the top games last season), flying charter to Miami and blasting them for our first win in Miami in 4 try's since 2015, beating WKU in one of the best Mean Green basketball games ever and winning the C-USA Regular season ON HOME COURT, and first win against WKU since 2012, losing to Charlotte in a sort of pointless game for NT, and getting the rest of the crazy season canceled. That was a roller coaster typing it!

  7. Worked another 24 hour shift among millions yesterday. Everyone seemed to be moving about, going to work and doing their thing. Some good news on the research & findings towards a cure and prevention of covid19. The FDA and CDC hope to have a vaccine within a few weeks or less. Research using a combination of Chloroquine and Azythromiacin is showing promise in speeding up recovery and possibly a preventative? An interesting read on one of the clinical trials on that https://www.covidtrial.io We may be able to obtain tests readily enough that we’ll be able to test ourselves at home as early as next week? That would be incredible if the suppliers can pull that off? We’re gonna get through this. Rick

  8. not surprising, Basketball season was all but over when games were cancelled including 20% of teams being actually done with losses in Rd1 of Conference. Feel horrible for the Seniors, but they were 95% done for most teams, not 50% or less done like many of the sports just kicking into high gear in early March.

  22. Well, I guess we should have figured, but UNT has closed all athletic fields until further notice. This, unfortunately, makes cancellation of this year’s Kickball Classic necessary. Really too bad, but cannot be avoided and probably for the best considering the need to be safe and “social distance”, etc. Certainly do not want to take any unnecessary chances with this virus. If you have donated, sponsored or signed up to play in this year’s event, please PM me your wishes concerning either simply converting your player registration to a donation to the Cheer program or if you would prefer a refund. We will honor your wishes without problem or question. Many thanks to all of you who opted to support these great student-athletes. Hate to see our 10th annual event cancelled, but simply cannot be helped. See ya next year for our next event. Please PM me your wishes. GO MEAN GREEN!

  32. it should be pointed out that "mild symptoms" were ostensibly established by the Chinese response during the initial Wuhan outbreak and included up to non-life-threatening pneumonia. many have discounted the severity of the virus upon hearing 80-90% of cases were "mild:

  36. Agree with @LongJim. If Bloomberg and Styer’s campaigns proved anything it’s money cannot always buy position. Although I respect both using their own money their campaign messages, and personalities were very uninteresting. Rick

  37. Not sure about the “bankruptcy and destitution” comment, as I don’t think it has any bearing on the conversation unless, you know, “unfair and unequal”, or whatever. I'll go out on that limb and reckon that the vast majority of GMG folks are richer than 99% of the world’s population, and probably don't think about--or care about--millionaires, billionaires and their doings as a general rule. If they, or billionaires made a lot of money--good for them, as far as I'm concerned. But to quote the bard Robert John Lange--that don't impress me much. Can't speak for everybody though--although NBC/NYT apparently wants to. If NBC and the NYT wanted to make the point that there is too much money influencing politics, they could have left it at that, and compared 2-3 candidates and how much they are taking in/spending. Or, they could have delved a bit deeper into who is contributing and at what amount. They did not do this. The video could have mentioned, for example, that three of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren’s top contributors are Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple. Bloomberg spent his own money. What business is it of theirs if the guy wants to throw his own money away? More importantly--where did 'give a million to every American' come from? Bloomberg is an easy target because he's rich, and they can attack him without upsetting their advertisers. That’s a real shame. His billions didn’t buy Bloomberg delegates. It didn’t buy Trump the popular vote. It didn’t buy Steyer anything. It didn’t buy Forbes anything—twice. It didn’t buy Perot anything--twice. Seems to not be a winning strategy, but I think it comes down to folks didn't want to vote for those guys in sufficient numbers--money be damned. It generally happens that the American public—when it comes down to nut-cuttin’—is going to vote for the person that they believe will lead the country in a way that is best for them, their families, and their future. That’s almost always the case. But we'll wring our hands and rend our garments about the unfairness and outrageousness until then. Again. NBC and the NYT played themselves. They repeated a wild-eyed—possibly tongue-in-cheek--statement of folly without so much as checking out its veracity and simply stated it as fact. And they did it in a way that elicited a reaction in the public’s mind of “Wow, I could have used that money. He has too much. What an entitled, privileged, patriarchal a-hole.” What a lazy, pitiful attempt at journalism or news. The NT Daily is better at fact checking. NBC and the NYT were so smitten—no, I’d say they were thoroughly aroused—by the statement: “He Could Have Given Every American A Million Dollars”, that they didn’t bother with any facts, didn’t bother with a $.99 calculator, and beat up a billionaire’s campaign—financed with his own money--that wasn’t going to go anywhere anyway.
