  2. Never seen this before, 6th inning two out & two strikes on batter with Katie Clark on second! Coach Delong calls for a bunt (?) the batter squares up and the pitch is well outside the plate...Katie steals third since the coach is calling for a sacrifice, right. Catcher under throws the ball to third so it goes out to left field. Katie scores! When we they finally get the third out Coach Delong comes back he's laughing his head off since he lost count and screwed up the CALL but it worked. He had to hide his face in his hat since he was laughing so much at what he did. Good man! we all had a good laugh. The sad thing is that UIW's SB field was really impressive compared to utsa's dump. It's all syn. OF & IF. utsa's seating made you think that you were in the center seat and an airplane. You had to go outside of the field to use the head. I was told that our team really has a problem with slow pitching ( that's pretty obvious Saturday and early today. Final UNT 11 them 4 (really only two ER's). They are going to redo the SB dugout's (sink them) and enlarge the stands for Coach Delong. He's really happy at UNT he told me prior to the game. So, we can have bigger events at UNT (conf.tournament's ). And... a new scoreboard Too. They asked him about moving the field and he said he's happy with where it's at! I'm really impressed and what the parents told me about him and the ladies. Go see them play. It was lot's of fun.

  4. Hey all, I just read that the Ivy League cancelled their conference tournament and awarded the auto bid to the regular season winner due to the coronavirus. With an announced case of corona in Frisco do you think it’s a possibility it could happen with the CUSA tournament? I hope not because I love the event and everything that surrounds a conference tournament, but can’t say I’d be disappointed in being given the auto birth into the NCAA Tournament.

  5. Ivy League cancellation only impacted about 200 people, and those are the players, coaches and the 75 fans who would have been at the tournament.

  7. Living in Europe, where they already took all the fun out of sports, I am seriously afraid for march maddness itself. I don't think the US is any more ready for this than people were over here.

  8. The Favorites North Texas (20-11, 14-4): The Mean Green locked up their first-ever C-USA regular season title by beating Western Kentucky in an overtime thriller on March 1. That was the hallmark moment, but the title was fueled by a brutally-efficient offense that allowed UNT to go on a 12-1 league run between Jan. 4 and Feb. 15. The Mean Green lost their starting point guard to Gonzaga in the offseason, but added a star in JuCo transfer Javion Hamlet. Their deliberate, efficient offense has been a handful for league opposition all year, but UNT does come in on a slight down note, losing its regular season finale — and scoring just 43 points in doing so — at Charlotte. 10. Not sure about the “bankruptcy and destitution” comment, as I don’t think it has any bearing on the conversation unless, you know, “unfair and unequal”, or whatever. I'll go out on that limb and reckon that the vast majority of GMG folks are richer than 99% of the world’s population, and probably don't think about--or care about--millionaires, billionaires and their doings as a general rule. If they, or billionaires made a lot of money--good for them, as far as I'm concerned. But to quote the bard Robert John Lange--that don't impress me much. Can't speak for everybody though--although NBC/NYT apparently wants to. If NBC and the NYT wanted to make the point that there is too much money influencing politics, they could have left it at that, and compared 2-3 candidates and how much they are taking in/spending. Or, they could have delved a bit deeper into who is contributing and at what amount. They did not do this. The video could have mentioned, for example, that three of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren’s top contributors are Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple. Bloomberg spent his own money. What business is it of theirs if the guy wants to throw his own money away? More importantly--where did 'give a million to every American' come from? Bloomberg is an easy target because he's rich, and they can attack him without upsetting their advertisers. That’s a real shame. His billions didn’t buy Bloomberg delegates. It didn’t buy Trump the popular vote. It didn’t buy Steyer anything. It didn’t buy Forbes anything—twice. It didn’t buy Perot anything--twice. Seems to not be a winning strategy, but I think it comes down to folks didn't want to vote for those guys in sufficient numbers--money be damned. It generally happens that the American public—when it comes down to nut-cuttin’—is going to vote for the person that they believe will lead the country in a way that is best for them, their families, and their future. That’s almost always the case. But we'll wring our hands and rend our garments about the unfairness and outrageousness until then. Again. NBC and the NYT played themselves. They repeated a wild-eyed—possibly tongue-in-cheek--statement of folly without so much as checking out its veracity and simply stated it as fact. And they did it in a way that elicited a reaction in the public’s mind of “Wow, I could have used that money. He has too much. What an entitled, privileged, patriarchal a-hole.” What a lazy, pitiful attempt at journalism or news. The NT Daily is better at fact checking. NBC and the NYT were so smitten—no, I’d say they were thoroughly aroused—by the statement: “He Could Have Given Every American A Million Dollars”, that they didn’t bother with any facts, didn’t bother with a $.99 calculator, and beat up a billionaire’s campaign—financed with his own money--that wasn’t going to go anywhere anyway.

It's not a problem for most people (I surely don't want elderly folks or those with underlying issues to get it) but as a parent to elementary aged kids, the biggest threat to getting it is not the illness itself (everything I've read says that this virus is actually not as threatening to kids as the flu) but it's if/when you get it...having to stay home for weeks due to the hysteria about it. This guy in Frisco has been home for a week....did he go to the grocery store? Church? kid's ball game? The kids went to school? (edit: evidently they didn't according to that interview) Etc. Etc. With it confirmed in Frisco (and that's just confirmed, I'm sure it's all over by now) the Conference has a decision to make and they better make it fast.... Tough deal

  16. That is because he holds the ball to long and to low. He needs to know if he gets the ball where he is going to go. Quick move to the hoop or a dish. They are doubling Hamlet off the screen which should give him some good options. We are very fortunate to have Deng and Bell for an athletic option. GMG

  18. Pretty much the Fox News business model in a nut shell. To be fair I think NBC, ABC and CBS are doing a pretty good job these days. BBC always does fair reporting. CNN is obviously liberal but contrary to what many here think they are not the antithesis of Fox News. The biggest problem with Fox is the actual news segment gets very little time. The recently departed Shepard Smith did a good job. Instead, they devote much of their day to opinion shows that have zero journalistic integrity and unabashedly push false narratives. Lately CBS and BBC are my two faves for broad based reporting.

  33. the "MSM" apparently is just awful at math. the point being made, on the other hand, is valid. here's some better math: Bloomberg spent $60-$220 per vote in Super Tuesday states even taking the low-end of that, $60, and extrapolating that out to the number of votes it took to win in 2016 (also, the low number)...you're looking at around a $3.8 BILLION investment. there is far too much money influencing politics. and it baffles my mind that so many defending the uber rich do so as this sort f principled defense of capitalism...that some how because "hard work" merited the rich their station in life, that maybe if I bring my lunch box and use some elbow grease I too can eventually be worth $50B. nah. everyone of you reading this right now is far closer to bankruptcy and destitution than you are being even multi-millionaires, let alone sniffing a billion

  37. DENTON – The North Texas football program and Vice President/Director of Athletics Wren Baker announced Friday that the Mean Green have agreed to a home-and-home series with the University of Missouri. The Mean Green are scheduled to host the Tigers in Denton in 2030 and travel to Columbia, Missouri, in 2031. "I'm very pleased we were able to schedule a home-and-home series with Missouri," Baker said. "Upgrading the quality of our non-conference home schedule continues to be a focus point for us. I appreciate the work of Jared Mosley in helping assemble our future schedules as well. Scheduling is a time intensive exercise and Jared has done a great job of landing quality non-conference home-and-home series." These scheduled meetings will be the second and third for the Mean Green against Missouri. The Tigers knocked off the Mean Green 28-7 in 1995 in Columbia in the season-opener. 39. No they wouldn't. What makes you say this stuff? P5s pretty much NEVER take buy games, even from P5s. When they do it's at elite programs like Notre Dame. If you can get P5s to take buy games at G5s then you should quit whatever job you have and go into scheduling. You'd be a millionaire off of UCF alone. Miami probably has a $100 million budget. You think they'd sacrifice their football program by playing on the road? I'd like to get on what you're on. Also I'm with MeanGreenTexas, WB and crew have proven to be more adept at scheduling than anyone we've ever had here. I'll wait for final announcement and resolution before I get my drawers in a wad.

  41. The girls just keep getting better. They were outscored in the first quarter by 2. They won every other quarter including 18-10 in the third. They made enough free throws down the stretch to finish off UTEP. They are peaking at the right time. Great job by Coach Mitchell and her staff.

  45. Because of this, I'll be looking at our 1-and-1s and seeing how many of them involve us at their house for the first game. Never thought about it until now, but I speculate most of them are like that. It gives them the opportunity to have UNT at their house, then bail on the contract if something better comes.
