  1. Our start has come against WKU, Marshall, FIU, FAU, USM, and La Tech. Those teams are a combined 20-10 in CUSA play against teams not named North Texas, but just 1-5 against us. Not to mention 4 of our 6 games have been on the road.

  2. Last night was pretty obviously a huge win for us, and what the metrics show is certainly congruent with that feeling. According to Bart Torvik’s website, our chances of having at least a share of 1st place heading into pool play jumped from about 58% to 86% with the win, and our chances of going into pool play as the outright 1st place team jumped from I believe about 33% to 66%. http://www.barttorvik.com/conodds.php?conf=CUSA We are also now 1st in CUSA in NET (jumped La Tech with the win), 2nd in CUSA in KenPom behind La Tech, and 2nd in RPI begins WKU according to RealTimeRPI. We have put ourselves in a great position to be in the thick of things. Now time to take care of some games we should win.

  9. I can't tell how much watching those refs stare at the monitor made me think we were gonna get screwed. But we didnt. After watching the absolute scree job at the end of regulation at the ladies game, then to pull out two wins in one day against la. Tech. It's a great day!!!!

  12. If you watch the replay of the final shot that NT basketball posted, take a look at J Simmons on the bench. He’s the only one that was like “That was really close, I am going to wait for the review to celebrate”.

  16. My wife and I watched a replay of the final shot at least 10 times from the three different angles and it was still inconclusive if Hamlet got the shot off. Let’s sweep the Texas teams this week!

  17. The team is just too inconsistent and it is getting too late to blame it on youth. I think Mitchell is still learning on the job. She has shown she is a very good recruiter, but I do not understand her game time decisions. For example, Shepard was beginning to dominate in the post and as soon as Townley and George become available she was pushed down in the lineup. Another example, she has been reported as not being happy with the number of threes that NT throws up. Does she not control that? Hopefully, this team can improve enough to be a factor in the tournament.

  18. Fox 4 didn’t bother showing the play or even mentioning the game this morning with all of the other college basketball highlights. They need some emails.

  25. They kept fighting. Coach Mitchell is working hard. Totally different game plan from Thursday and the girls executed. Nobody panicked at the end. Mims played great defense and Townley actually took some shots. The freshmen on this team are growing up.

  27. WOW! What a finish. I am sorry if you took my prediction of us +3, but it never should have come down to that. First win in Ruston since 1952!

  30. The last two recruiting classes are possibly our best two ever and what is your concern over these two coaches? We were all raving over Patrick Cobbs being added last year and he had way less experience than these two. Oh, and Cobbs was a fabulous hire. You just like to look for the worst.

  32. https://meangreensports.com/sports/football/roster/2020?&sort=position No real surprises that I noticed. Rico Bussey no longer listed, while Bryce English still is. Looks like UNT expects him to get a waiver for a 6th season this year.

  36. This team deserves more support and they sure as hell deserve more attention from GMG. I remember several years ago when we were rocking and rolling in basketball the forum had a chat room that was really active on game nights. We need that to return it will make people tune in to games more often. @Harry

  37. If Graham ends up in Philadelphia. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mason Fine end up there also, if he goes undrafted. I know Cowboys fans would love seeing Mason in Philly....LOL

  40. Rico did a lot for us, the best thing he could do in my opinion is focus on his rehab for now. I'm not sure it makes sense with his recovery timeline to compete at pro day. A little more recovery time so he can run the fastest time possible is crucial and I have no doubts he will be invited to Dallas Day the Cowboys combine for local players. This guy can play, his ability to create separation and catch contested balls won't be lost on scouts. His injury history including the hamstring pulls early in his career won't be lost either so in a VERY deep WR 2020 class he will have to go the UDFA route. Whatever happens, he was a special player who will forever be a legend for his TD catch during the drive against UTSA.

  41. Seth strikes me as the type of guy who thrives on chemistry and struggles to confront difference of philosophy in his team. He looked so frustrated on the sidelines last year many times. I’m glad he appears to be hiring gentlemen he can lead and trust to execute his plan. It’s a completely new day in Denton. Kind of exciting even though the unknowns are significant. GMG

  42. Some of you guys really stretch on negative. Here's what I think. It's obvious Seth wants to bring some aspects of the Briles offense. From the timing, my guess is he looked at other options. Maybe Kendall? Maybe Josh Lebby (who was hired at Ole Miss), maybe others. At the end of the day, the best option was O Line coach from Tulsa (Phil Mongtgomery is still known as the best OC Baylor ever had) and Tate Wallis who was the receivers coach of the year in college football while at Baylor. Seth will probably call the offense until one of those guys or Mainord proves they are ready. As for what I'm expecting, I'm expecting UCF style offense. Josh Heupel is an air raid guy but hired Josh Lebby and integrated some Baylor stuff. With Seth and Josh being close, my best guess is Seth wants to do something similar. As for the differences, I personally think Briles did run the ball more effectively than Air Raid. Always liked some the wider splits on the line, etc. Not sure how this looks early, but I can follow the logic and think the end product could be explosive.

  45. I agree completely. LSU just had 7 people announce they are leaving early for the NFL. This isn’t even counting seniors that will get drafted from their team. We haven’t had anyone drafted in years. That alone should sort of tell you the difference in the playing field not being even, which doesn’t even touch base on the TV/conference money this NFL life programs get.
