  1. The same people who were saying the "recruiting" was going to be terrible are the first ones to say this is a terrible hire. Some of you seem to give Seth NO credit. Too bad we can't be positive and welcome him.

  4. I don't know if he will be missed. We do a great job of developing our receivers. Our problem is an O-line that doesn't protect the QB long enough to get the ball away to those receivers without the QB having to throw early. Secondly we need an OC that recognizes that the O-line is a problem and adjusting the game to shorter passing routes that allows the ball to get out faster. Shorter wasn't rated as high as this guy, but man he is becoming great. Simpson was not rated as highly, but as a freshman, he came on strong. We can develop receivers. We need to develop the line.

  6. La Tech vs Miami Watching the Indy and La Tech sure can compete with Miami. They have consistently good teams that look and play the part.

  8. Great point concerning our short, quick passing game. I wonder if Masons ht came into play, because we ran 0 Quick slants or outs to the slot. I also would like to see some of our RB motion from the backfield to Reciever , like the Cowboys did with Dunbar. GMG

  10. SL's air raid prowess combined with a legit oline coach at the head of the offensive scheme? Could be interesting. We need all the oline help we can get at this point.

  16. Some ideas I haven't seen yet (forgive me if I missed them being mentioned)... Keith Heckendorf Current Salary: $210,000 AState Bio: https://astateredwolves.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/keith-heckendorf/536 2019 was his first season as the Arkansas State offensive coordinator and QB coach. Before that, he spent 8 seasons in multiple roles with the North Carolina football program, including the last five as quarterbacks coach. He also served as the Tar Heels’ passing coordinator the last three years and as the recruiting coordinator in 2014 and 2015. Pluses: He has crossed paths with Seth at UNC, appears to be a QB coach with skins on the wall, and can recruit. Clay McGuire Current Salary: $175,000 Tx State Bio: https://txstatebobcats.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/clay-mcguire/1198 2019 was his first season as the offensive line coach at Texas State after spending 2018 as the running backs coach at Texas Tech. Before that, he spent six seasons as the offensive line coach at Washington State. Pluses: An OC with an OLine background might help recruiting on that front and I, for one, am open to a new voice addressing that area of consistent need.

  17. At 210 lbs., I can't imagine him seeing the field in any capacity for at least a year. But he sounds like he has potential if he keeps after it.

  22. https://247sports.com/Player/Kirkland-Michaux-46050097/ https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2020/jake-bishop-238092 Crazy that Westlake’s QB Michaux has only one offer to Fordham. He played really good in State championship. He threw some dimes and managed the game great. He is 6’4 and 211lbs. Jake Bishop, I know he is only 5’8 but he has won 2 state championships. That’s huge. He threw the ball great and you can tell he has that “It” factor. Not sure what coaches are not seeing. As a dad that just got done with this recruiting thing, sometimes you just have to scratch your head. Not talking about our coaches, just coaches in general. Seems like they chase the same 300 kids. Coaches trust your eyes and quit waiting on other schools to offer first. Build that relationship and you won’t have to worry about decommitments even to P5 schools. That was how it was with us. Christian kept getting calls from P5 coaches to play LB, but loved the relationship he built with the coaching staff and the commits. We also had 3 P5 schools tell our coach that they thought Christian was a great athlete , but wanted to wait until after signing day to offer. Games they play!!! Just a proud dad’s 2 cents. 23. Tight ends don’t necessarily stay tight ends. Remember Victor Gill? He started at North Texas as a tight end for Darrell Dickey and ended up being a first team all conference offensive tackle for Todd Dodge.

  24. Hamlet started out at as a good player, and he is rapidly improving from that to a star. It would be difficult for me to pick the mvp of the team. You can make strong cases for Hamlet, Gibson and Z. Simmons.

  26. Loading up on te's appears to me to indicate that NT is going more to a running based offense. This makes some sense as NT should be returning a very strong group of running backs. The wide receiver position is also projected to be very good. Look for a little more balanced attack next year, the split between running and passing will be dictated by which of the QB emerges as the starter.

  29. My wife saw that too and told me. Love having a guy like that. Wouldn’t necessarily tell a guy to do that, but whether he does that or not the mentality is there and that’s what matters.

  30. Based on the crowd size at what was basically a home game for FAU, maybe the protests were in the form of a boycott.

  31. Free market capitalism. People organizing it have demand from schools to play there and demand from sponsors to be affiliated and demand from television to show the game. If it sells tickets, then there is even more money to pay to the schools.

  33. This is my point. Leavitt is the level of hire we should have aimed for, and why I question the Bowen hire. The down voters on here won't like reading this, but hires like Leavitt are why FAU has two C-USA conference titles and we don't.

  34. Seeing that FAU just hired Jim Leavitt as their new DC, I’m officially underwhelmed by our hire. That’s a peer program. We gotta aim higher.

  42. Watch for Fayetteville fans to revolt at any moment and both attendance and donations will drop to an all time low. Those poor Hogs messed up good in the public perception game. On a serious note, seems like a good hire for them and far and away better than the other candidate they were considering.
