I hope he is ready to come in for the Spring or it likely won’t help much.5 points

He just committed to us. Much needed help on the o line. Welcome aboard!5 points

In typical UNT fashion, we’ll beat this hire into the ground with humor (I’m guilty of this already), but get our asses handed to us on the field within 2 years.4 points

Well, at least their recruiting will continue to be good, and their East Texas recruiting just got a shot in the arm! As for on-field results... we'll see.4 points

Didn't Miami already lose to a CUSA team this year? I think La Tech has a shot there. Winning bowl games is what they do.4 points

Huge hit for the preseason favorites as they lose the defending conference DPOY3 points

I know that some want to downplay any conference championship discussion this early. Why, I am not sure of; bad karma or something. I do think NT''s odds are getting better based on the season so far. All polls, I've seen have WKU and La Tech as the favorites, than it is usually UTEP and NT. Unfortunately. WKU has just lost their best player to injury. La Tech looks anything but invincible with a recent lose to Sam Houston. UTEP is 6-1, but all wins were at home and they lost to New Mexico St. on the road after beating them by 15 at home. NT record is misleading and based on the early schedule, I think they are in good position to challenge for a league championship.3 points

Yes, known as a good Texas recruiter but it seems like they’ve already tried that hand.3 points

That we can’t beat enough of these crap teams to get in one of these crap bowls is a dismal statement about the state of our program.3 points

CUSA desperately needs to earn some respect, so we need to be pulling for all of them. Especially FAU. 😉3 points

And make sure he brings highly regarded Defensive Coordinator Ron Mendoza with him. You can't miss.3 points

https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-old-dom...22462.html Coordinator at Penn State. Solid hire from a legit program. Conference is really bringing in some top notch coaches from quality high profile programs. Big improvements over what we have had in the past.2 points

Says on his twitter that he's a fall 2019 grad, so I would assume he'll be here for spring ball2 points

I posted this on another forum about Traylor. He had a program at Gilmer where he would get kids with rough backgrounds to be sponsored by members of the community. A kid I played little league through 9th grade was one of these kids. His sophomore year he moved to "Dallas", but his junior and senior year he was living with an older couple in Gilmer. They gave him a car, and bought him pretty much whatever he wanted. Our little league coach passed away a few years ago, and he was telling us all of the details at the funeral visitation. I had heard similar stories when I was in high school, but to hear this account first hand from a former player was ridiculous.2 points

Congrats to Anterrious! We have 3 starting o-line spots opening up. I’m starting to think that the coaches don’t have much confidence in filling any of those spots internally. Perfect situation for a JUCO ol2 points

He has been recruiting kids since his time at Gilmer. The guy is a piece of work. A very fitting hire for UTSA. They just got Todd Dodge 2.02 points

No offers? Similar to Preston, the JUCO out of Arizona(??). Wasn't that impressed with him but I do appreciate him coming to UNT and giving it his all.2 points

I was thinking about your comment heading into the game and during the game. Honestly, based on their performances heading into this game and watching them during the game, they haven’t been nearly as bad as I thought based on how you made them out to be. Sure they’re not very deep but they have had very respectable results in their non-conference schedule and the only reason we beat them the way we did was because we tied a school record for threes in a game.2 points

My early predictions: Bahamas: Charlotte has been on a roll since beating us. I look for them to win. Boca Raton: SMU will win in front of less than 5,000 as the Lane Train heads west after the game. Camellia: FIU in a toss-up. NOLA: Appalachian State should win big. Will they be effected by their HC leaving for Mizzou? I will stick with App State big. UAB is not good. Gasparilla: UCF will hammer Marshall Independence Bowl: Going out on a limb and picking La Tech. If FIU can beat the U, so can La Tech. First Responder: In front of less fans than the SMU/FAU fiasco, WKU wins. Armed Forces: Just don't think Southern Miss can hang with Tulane. Give me the Green Wave. Hope I am wrong.2 points

It's extremely hard to win them when we go 4-8 & lose the head-to-head matchup.2 points

Guess I'll go first since I posted the topic. haha. 1) Clearly Louisiana Tech got the best of the 8 bowls with a date against a big name brand school like Miami (FL). Makes sense as the date is right after Christmas and that is an easy trip for La Tech fans to make. Any other conference mates that ended up there would have probably drilled attendance. 2) Poor Appalachian State. Top 20 team and you're having to play a team that just got waxed by 40+ points in the CUSA Championship Game. They deserved a date against a P5 team to showcase what they can do. New Orleans is great & all but I bet they would rather be playing anywhere they could against a P5 team, even if it ended up with them getting moved around. 3) Speaking of moved around, it was interesting that CUSA ended up not being in the New Mexico Bowl, which we were contractually tied to. Instead they put in a MAC team. 4) Basically all the bowls WE wanted to go to in the past (First Responder, Armed Forces & Independence), THIS is the year they finally all got filled by CUSA teams. Just our luck. Ugh.1 point

No. He is not invested in them. Their downfall will be swift and it will be all his fault.1 point

ODU sells-out their stadium for almost every game. They also beat a top 25 team last year.1 point

Rick I’m with you on defensive first philosophy...... the conservative philosophy though. 😬 those were some painful offenses to watch and they did cost us games at times. I want both. Aggressive creative offense and a swarming, mean defense. I look at LSU and Bama and others that are traditional defense first teams but they opened up their offenses. It can work. There’s no reason Littrell’s offense can’t mesh well with a good defense. He runs the air raid but it’s not the Leach air raid, he’s not going to throw the ball 50 times a game but it’s also not 3 yards and a cloud of dust1 point
