  1. Let me guess: UAB is a good football team. . . Need to get better in all three phases. . . Need to do a better job of coaching. . . Need to handle adversity. . .

  2. Absolutely. There is no need to wish him luck for he will not need it. Stand up guys like MF are like cats, they fall on their feet no matter the circumstances.

  3. Mason should have transferred... he deserved better than this. The staff and co should be ashamed of the product they put out there

  4. 6 absolutely gets retired. It’s dependent on his university engagement over the next few years but i have no doubt that will be excellent. Mason is everything I wanted in a sports hero as a kid: underdog, baller, confidence, humility, accountability, leadership, real, coachable, the list goes on. I came here in 05 and Lance is the only talent I’ve seen like him, Trice was the only leader who I’ve seen on his level...but no one has been the total package. He’s our Craig Biggio.

  5. Win the recruiting battles! We looked small out there!

  6. We have had horrible lines throughout his tenure. Besides the great Mason plays the most memorable style is him running for his life. Langston has been the worst coach on staff for a while now.

  7. On the radio post game show, they said that they will be having a final Littrell Coaches' Show (for the season) at Rudy's on Tuesday night and that MASON FINE will be the primary guest. We need to pack Rudy's go the gills. That would be a much more respectful way to send him off than letting tonight's game be his last memory as UNT's QB.

  8. Mason stuck around giving kids high fives and taking pictures with other fans well after the other players had walked off the field. Then walked over to the student side and gave high five to the 6 or 7 students still on the front row. This guy wasn't just a great player, but he's a great guy. I cant think of another player I've been prouder to have played here. I've honestly been sad all day that he'd be leaving. And the way this thing petered out made me feel even worse for him. Does 6 get retired?

  9. All my best to Mason and the rest of the seniors. Thank you guys, and hope to see y'all in the stands next season.

  10. Mason ends his football career with a sack. So f*****g typical. Reeder and Langston MUST be fired.

  14. From my calculations Mason now sitting at #28 all time NCAA passing yards at: 12,507 for his career right behind Chase Daniel at 12,515 #27. Also has 100 TD's 93 passing TD's 7 rushing TD's For his career! 🏈

  15. Mason is the best role model of a student athlete. He fights his ass off, and never gives up. He has made us proud to be North Texas, and he will forever be one of the best players to come through UNT. Watching him grow from a small kid to a beast has been fun to watch. Even though we didn't accomplish the ultimate mission, we had a player to remember! I hope we see him on Sunday's!

  16. Rice was a shit show. Charlotte was a shit show. La Tech was a shit show. Today we played them close all game and the defense had one of their better games. They almost completely shut out the UAB offense in the second half. I love what Mason has done for us, but that pick six was costly. The other interception wasn't great, although on replay it looked like the safety bit on the underneath route, but obviously he didn't. Play calling on offense wasn't perfect but it wasn't as bad as other games this season. It was a good, competitive game to watch, even if we did lose.

  17. It’s been bad. And Mose’s low snaps all yr were even worse. He’s been a hard working dude and his career as a whole was solid. I don’t mean to single him out, but damn. The whole unit was bad.

  20. As I expected….but its not been a banner year for him...downvote me but I like Littrell.... and 1.8mil later he's not had all his planets align.....

  21. I disagree. I believe every situation, even a terrible situation, is an opportunity if you approach it the right way. We need Ref gone as soon as we can leak his replacement's name to the media. If Wren does his job, the coach replacing Ref will be a proven defensive mind that carries more than enough street cred to hold the defensive players we have, or even add some better commits. I see no reason why UNT can't make lemonade from our lemons. We could seriously upgrade our defensive coaching staff, and get some positive media attention, if Wren and Seth are smart this off season.

  22. I could go either way on Reff because we weren’t dreadful the past 2 seasons but we MUST send Reeder packing for me to have any hope for next season. He is as bad as Flanagan and worse than Chico.

  25. Why would they hire the UIW coach or Graham Harrell when Todd Dodge and Dan Mccarney are both available?

  26. It's easy to get confused. For instance, many find our Defensive Coordinator to be offensive.

  28. Hit the transfer portal hard. Not recruiting well enough to backfill every year, obviously.

  29. Mason will be busy prepping for games on Sundays... biding his time for his opportunity, just like he did here for a couple games. He’s gonna make it y’all. I don’t know how after watching him here for 4 years, anyone could disagree. Just please don’t be the Giants, Redskins, or Eagles!!

  30. Did you see any of the Marshall vs FIU today?. A home game for Marshall that actually meant something. They showed some very good shots of the whole stadium and there could not have been a thousand there. I thought the NT crowd was about what was to be expected.

  31. Really poor situational play calling again and it cost us a win for the seniors in their last game. Also, it must be noted that CUSA officiating is the worst in the nation. This lineswoman they keep pushing on us is out of her depth and was atrocious today for both teams. She wasn't alone in her poor officiating but holy crap it was terrible today.

  34. Sacked twice on the most important drive of the game. We need a Oline coach. At the very least.

  35. Unbelievable performance by the OL. Couldn't even give Mason a chance on his last drive. Shameful.

  36. Pretty much. From the TV, it looked like he was hurt when he planted and his leg was twisting (before he was hit). I wouldn't be surprised if it were an ACL injury, as it didn't look good. Hoping it's just dislocated/nothing more serious than that. I thought I saw his leg in an aircast as he was taken off on the cart, but maybe it was just wrapped up. Also, when I tore my ACL (in college), I was taken to the ER, but it didn't do a thing for me. They were able to rule out a broken bone, but I knew that going there since I heard something pop. I went back to my dorm and called our orthopedic surgeon the next morning who got me in that day and could actually do an MRI on me. You'll get more answers there than you will at an ER - X-Rays won't show soft tissue like ACL's, so it's best to wait and get an MRI done.

  37. An excellent defensive coordinator / recruiter is now available, and his salary will be paid by UTSA for two years.

  38. it feels like the teams we play in conference that have great qb have that qb for 10 years. I feel Mason just got here. I will miss watching him at the games.

  40. lose our top RB to at least an ACL and then have Mason go out getting sacked twice in the drive. Gut wrenching.

  41. When we played Houston, I knew we were in for it when their team ran out of the tunnel and came to the endzone to stretch/pray. THEY ARE massive compared to our boys, across the board. Then watching them line up I still dont understand why they ever threw the ball. Their o-line was massive.

  42. UH looked like an SEC team compared to us when we played them. It's all in the recruiting, AND THE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING!

  46. Wife and I said the same thing. We will invest in a program when they invest in themselves. Aka getting better and firing coaches that need to go. SL losses to another team above. 500

  47. We need a new OC, DC, secondaries coach, OL coach. This program is weak and SL better make some changes of this joke.

  48. Asinine to think there is any type of “bias”. D1 officials work very hard to get to the D1 level and could care less who wins. The issue is the depth/ quality of officials at all levels. Officials are treated so poorly in youth and junior high level games that most quit before theIr first year. There’s a massive official shortage at the high school level due to veteran officials retiring and no young officials there to replace them due to poor working conditions for beginner officials. There has to have a trickle up effect to the college level.

  49. I grew up in Denton and would sneak into Fouts with friends to play football on some weekends. Saw high school football games there. Sat in a monsoon against Nevada as a student. Fired Boomer, rang the bell, and ran the flags as a Talon there. Watched football games as a student with my now wife there. Watched one of the best football games (at any level) that I’ve ever seen there in 2002 when we played NMSU for the Belt title...and celebrated on the field multiple times as we clenched four of the very few conference titles in our history. Watched us dismantle Baylor there...and Woody Wilson embarrass SMUt there. Watched 7 overtimes, with the 50 people still in attendance at the end, between two highly inept teams there...and literally ran end zone to end zone with @FirefightnRick to provide the only crowd noise. Froze my butt off in the freezing rain with @Zeke as we watched us play WKU there. Fouts WAS a dump. It DID have horrible sight lines. And it DID require a generator just to keep the lights on. But Fouts was also the home of my Mean Green. It was the place I came to be with the people I consider my second family. I’ll always have a positive view of the place.
