The fact that I'm seeing so many people on Twitter with actual anger towards Luck is both appalling and disgusting. The opinion that he "quit" on the Colts is apparently widely held, which is despicable, and he got booed out of Lucas Oil tonight. Awful.13 points

Mason Fine isn't even getting thought of in the same sentence as "Heisman" unless we go 14-0/13-1 and Clemson and Alabama and Georgia all have disappointing seasons. Not to be the fun police, but the coaching staff is well aware that the push for him as a Heisman candidate from the school is merely for publicity and image. Which is good! But I promise Reeder has not a thought in his head of padding stats in his first year as a division 1 OC.8 points

I don't understand why people think athletes should run their bodies into the ground with irreparable trauma. For what? To please a bunch of hooting fans in the stands and on social media? I have no doubt that Andrew Luck loves the game, but it's still a means to an end. He made money, and he wants to move on with his life. If only we all could be so lucky to retire at 295 points

Pros are not swayed by running up stat totals. National recognition is another matter. NT should do what is right for the program which is not easy to determine. National publicity with high Fine stats and big wins get noticed. However, getting playing time for underclassmen is better for the development of the team. There is also an injury element to consider. Teams are out to put Fine on the sideline, this should be a big factor in his playing time.4 points

Still one of my favorite GIF's of all time. I have spent a good amount of time watching this over and over and just focusing on each animated "character".4 points

Not too surprising. For a non P5 team, respect has to be earned. But I imagine a lot of Arkansas fans were saying the same type of things about us this time last year.3 points

I got to see our boy do work here in KC. He owned the second half. Mullens looked rough to say the least and they relied on Jeff and the run game to get things going. He's seems to be third choice behind Breida and Coleman but he runs HARD and I can see him being a situational and short yardage bruiser for the '9ers again3 points

"There isn’t a drop-off from where I have been," Harvey said. "The players and receivers are top-notch. I still am seeing the competition I need to get to the next level." Loved reading this! GMG!3 points

When you see programs like Florida that have clowns like Felipe Franks as their QB1, you realize how blessed we are to have Mason. As we saw last night, let your play do the talking and everything else will follow2 points

Who knows? Maybe this sets up perfect for them to have a "Suck for Fine" season.2 points

Good friend owns The Dive. Hope he is in business for years.2 points

Why? This attitude is so old North Texas. He chose to stay here last year over KSU. I get the whole Bill Snyder’s son issue but that was still a pretty relevant decision for us. If the right job comes open, sure he may go somewhere else, but I think we have a pretty good shot competing against the lower tier P5 to keep him here.2 points

In the past he has been left in game that the team would have been better served to get backups in (IMO)2 points

Just because Fine is a possible Heisman candidate doesn't mean that takes priority over winning games and competing for the C-USA title.2 points

The guy that owns Killarney’s Live also owns Lion and Crown on the square in Denton (and Addison and Allen). He said he’d love to host UNT Watching Parties there if someone up Denton way wants to help organize. If anyone is interested in organizing something there, message me and I’ll let you know what we normally do at Killarney’s Live in Fairview.2 points

I get more frustrated with the apathy from “Sooner” Craig Miller. He’s a UNT alum, but you’d rarely know. He’s also an OU t-shirt fan like Corby Davidson (who went to TCU).2 points

“Good stuff on Mason Fine. No big or elite QB camps or private coach. Really interested to see him play. Of course I want the Bears to drop NT like a hot turd but easy to pull for a kid like that.” Link: https://bearinsider.com/forums/2/topics/898351 point

No hot takes, that board is ugly, and I disagree with most of them. Fine can't sneak up on people like last year? He was the reigning CUSA player of the year who every team game planned for.1 point

13-1 with loss in CUSA title game. Which cost us a spot in New Years 6 game. During that game there are 4 reports that Littrell is leaving for 3 different jobs. We lose on a last second fumble.1 point

I agree, and unfortunately stats speak loud. He may need those garbage numbers to 1, add draft stock and 2, finish with all American status.1 point

in denton, jacks tavern has been awesome...generally go there for away games...full on mean green and the game...not a ton of people, sadly, but it's nice that there isn't1 point

It's on the north end zone so just be aware of that for watching the game. I would suggest getting seats on the west side of the section so you'll get shade faster (it's in full sun so it can get hot). As an alternative, you may want to consider Sec 212. It has a better view, it's in the shade, and easy access to bathrooms for the little one. Good view of all the boards, too. I think the price is about the same either way. Good luck & GMG1 point

A coach cussing you is one thing. Lord knows I've had my share of butt chewings by many a coach. My problems with this stupid chant are the following: 1. It is disrespectful towards our university. 2. It is yelling MF'er at the top of their lungs during our fight song. It is easy to tell what is being said from across Apogee. 3. My youngest looking up and clarifying what he heard and then asking why they would say that about their school. 4. It is classless. Don't compare us to LSU. Their fans are the worst in college football and nothing to aspire to be. 5. We are North Texas and we are better than that.1 point

Just F'n with ya! Ha! So glad we don't have to worry about this for another season. Go Fine!1 point
