I don’t want to go into “kill the clock” mode. That is what killed us last year. Keep the throttle on full and blow teams outs. I was at the ODU game...6 points

I am as big a fan of Hedlund as anyone, but I am still baffled that Trevor Moore has never been picked up or invited back to a camp.6 points

I'm not a fan of designed quarterback runs with Fine. Hopefully those are rarely used.4 points

Guyton should have stayed in Denton for another year and everyone but him knows it. He hasn't been the same since Army. He will be fodder for another week, maybe.4 points

Matthew Brune always has insightful articles going back to his time with the NT Daily.4 points

Guyton not really making a name for himself with the Cowboys, but not being given much of a chance either (or he’s just not getting open). From last night’s box score, he was only targeted twice and didn’t catch either. He was the only receiver targeted without a catch. At one point the media was stating we should see a lot out of Guyton in these first two preseason games. Haven’t seen much in results, unfortunately.3 points

A lot of big runs in these scrimages has me nervous... hope it's just the creative new running schemes and not our interior line and lbs being soft.3 points

NT ranked #10 in G5, #44 amongst all bowl division teams. Only CUSA team in the Top 10. UAB and Houston in the others receiving votes, close behind. This was in today's paper. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2019/08/15/college-football-ucf-army-headline-group-five-power-rankings/1770477001/ Also, LB Hayden Harrison got a promotion....received a scholarship, per Mike Lawrence today. https://meangreensports.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4053 GMG2 points

Harrell dialed up QB powers at the goalline on several occasions. Always made me shake my head in disbelief. He's our bellcow offensive player that gets the offense going and you run him between the tackles in a power scheme vs a bear front. Just, dumb.2 points

@Big Z, are you doing the right thing and taking an eraser and green chalk with you next time you go up there? 🤣2 points
-
No because he already has his degree. Why would he want to spend another year attending classes he doesn’t want to take just to be the 2nd or 3rd best receiver on the team?2 points

It seems like Reeder is a bigger proponent of the read option based on what I've seen. Mason can move, and as long as he's safe, I don't mind a few keepers on those read options. Buuuut QB draws/sweeps? Nah fam.2 points

Who’s Patrick Mahomes? I thought the play reminded me of Favre or Kordell Stewart.2 points

@Felozano tre looked pretty dang good in that scrimmage highlight they just released. A couple fantastic runs between the tackles.2 points

Yep, he is a really good coach. And, he may pull off having a competitive team. But based on what they have lost, picking them to be a good team this year seems quite the reach and it kind of shows that the media has not really done their research. The media went crazy picking UNT basketball to be a NCAA tournament Cinderella back around 2013 with a loaded roster including Tony Mitchell. In the end, NT was a flop. Most here blame the coaching staff and it is hard to argue that point. So in the end, maybe Clarke is good enough to make them competitive.2 points

Happy Birthday Mr Fincher from the bride and me. It's always a pleasure visiting with you at games.2 points

This is the kind of list we have to crack, then remain on consistently before we can take the next steps on our way to bigger/better. Baby steps. We’re getting there!2 points

I’m following up with the owner. They already committed to our dates. Nico (one of the managers) is the only one to say anything about OU doing this. UPDATE: I heard back from the owner. He said they had checked into it and there were no timing conflicts between the UNT away games and the OU games. He said the closest is one game where the kicks are 4 hours apart. Doing my own research, the Cal game kicks off 3 hrs 45 minutes before the OU game. They’ll have to wait for us if we run long. Time of the OU/ KSU game is still TBD on the day we have a 2:30 kick against Charlotte. We’ll see how it goes. If this gets problematic, we’ll move somewhere else next year.1 point

I just saw the video. He runs with a sense of urgency. Strong, powerful, and fast! I look forward to seeing him in action against ACU. GMG!1 point

They have UAB as just missing their top 10. When I saw this their G5 credibility dropped just a bit 😞1 point

“We have been told that we are a faster defense. I can see it. Guys are moving around well.” Great news! I feel like we may have gained speed, but perhaps given up some size at LB. If the D-line can engage the O-line, this defense could pretty good! GMG!1 point

Do you think Littrell is better than Dykes? Fine better than what’s his name? If the answer is yes to both, then we should win.1 point

We are beating Texas with Campbell sidelined I believe with a hammie strain. They put him in. His first play from scrimmage he runs for a touchdown on ONE leg. I really mean ONE leg with UNT players hanging all over him. Never will forget.1 point

He certainly was in High School, but playing against 2-A players helped a lot with that. He did eventually prove to be almost superman in college. But it wasn't automatic in the beginning. I saw him play against North Texas his freshman year in 1979. He was sharing RB duties with Dallas Carter's Charles Waggoner (#26 on your program), and Waggoner was getting most of the reps in that game. I remember reading at the time that Waggoner got the nod because, having played at Dallas Carter, he was better prepared (physically and mentally), because of his experience against 4-A (now 6-A) competition. I remember thinking that Waggoner looked to be about a step faster than Dickerson. Waggoner got hurt (neck injury) later in the year returning a kick-off. He finished his career at SMU running track. Had Waggoner not gotten hurt, who knows if Dickerson would have ever surpassed him......or if Waggoner would have hit the wall in his development and Dickerson would have passed him up anyway. Here's an article about Waggoner. http://www.dallassouthnews.org/2010/04/05/disd-legends-series-charles-waggoner-part-i/ Another one of those "what if's"............that I wish would've gone Waggoners way. I really hate Eric Dickerson. .1 point
