  1. I hope to see Bryce healthy this year, and not just because he plays a position of need. This kid has been through a lot and deserves one full year of his college career to play and enjoy the experience.

  3. I don't think anyone else has posted this, but as I was driving down North Texas Blvd. this morning I noticed that it looks like the Fouts reliefs are on the back of the new structures being built at the bus stops in the Fouts parking lot. You can see them as you drive down North Texas Blvd. right where it intersects with Highland. I was driving so couldn't snap a photo.

  5. What's the last thing you remember about North Texas? Both teams are significantly better than their Bowl games would indicate. The good thing about Houston is they're breaking in a new HC, and that offense is going to look much different without Briles

  6. It was never really about the next backup quarterback. It was Vito’s chance to get in another dig at Shanbour. He always likes to talk crap about Quinn, “not a legitimate recruit” and crap like that. Nevermind the fact that he was being recruited by Seth while he was at Indiana or that he had a scholarship offer to play for Colorado before Jon Embree got fired, or that he had a walk-on offer from OSU. Go sit on a rake Vito! Quinn was a model teammate and like having an extra assistant coach on the field. I don’t know where the grudge came from but you need to move on buddy.

  7. “Fine could end up playing every snap all season. That's by far the best scenario for UNT” In fact we don’t want Fine playing every snap. That would mean all the games are close and that no backups get in-game experience. That lack of experience really hurt us when Fine went down in the bowl game last year. I was so annoyed when Fine was in the game in the fourth quarter of blowouts last season.

  8. So, when Obama called the rioters in Baltimore criminals and thugs, was that racist? https://nypost.com/2015/04/28/obama-calls-baltimore-rioters-criminals-and-thugs/ Was this filmmaker racist for the name of his film? https://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/movies/bs-fe-rat-film-20180226-story.html Trump went after Eljiah Cummings because Cummings has been pushing for impeachment. He became a target of Trumps as a result of his comments. Is it racist that the last four mayors of Baltimore have been busted for corruption of some manner?

  10. Smu can't draw a crowd at their home field, you think they will travel well? A couple a years a go when SMU was playing us here a SMUT fan happened to find a seat about a row below me. He caught a t-shirt and instead of handing to one of the kids sitting close to him he decided to throw back on the field. I gave him some Boos. He left shortly afterwards, not sure of the boos or because they were losing.

  15. Jeez.... 1. what happens if Fine goes down for any length of time? 2. Fine left the game with a pulled hamstring. It wasn't pretty. 3. UNT needs a plan heading into the season if Fine goes down again. 4. Fine suffered a season-ending injury as a freshman in addition to missing the majority of the New Mexico Bowl. 5. but he's still 5-11 and 190 pounds. 6. who would fill in for Fine if he is injured. 7. if Fine goes down for any length of time. 8. the nightmare scenario that he doesn't make it through the year 9. whether that experience comes if Fine is injured

  16. Me too! 3 HOME OOC games... that has never happened before in my time following NT. And the 4th game is basically another home game in SMU. Anyone that dislikes that schedule hasn't been around very long.

  18. Last year I went to the Houston v SMU game. It was UNT's bye week and I figured I would catch a game for my football fix since they were playing in Dallas. Anyways.. Their band took over at SMU's house, pretty Embarrassing for SMUt.. You would have thought it was being played in Houston the way the Houston band took over. UNT won't have this issue, but there is going to be a battle on the field as well as the stands that day. I CANNOT wait for this game day atmosphere.

  20. I can beat that.....Lamar, after being hit by Hurricane Harvey, completely wrecked/flooded Beamont, the team didnt even get to practice the entire week before the game. But they STILL pushed through and showed up and STILL brought more fans than SMU...

  25. I cut and pasted the relevant parts for context and content. Sorry for it reading kind of weird. It was tricky trying to get a clean quote. This is from June 2016. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1606/05/sotu.01.html TAPPER: I want to ask you about comments you made about the judge in the Trump University case. TRUMP: Sure. Sure.TAPPER: You said that you thought it was a conflict of interest that he was the judge because he's of Mexican heritage, even though he's from Indiana. TRUMP: OK. Yes. Yes. TAPPER: But I don't care if you criticize him. That's fine. You can criticize every decision. What I'm saying is, if you invoke his race as a reason why he can't do his job...TRUMP: I think that's why he's doing it. TAPPER: But...(CROSSTALK)TRUMP: I think that's why he's doing it. TAPPER: Is it not -- when Hillary Clinton says, this is a racist attack -- and you reject that -- if you are saying he can't do his job because of his race, is that not the definition of racism? TRUMP: No, I don't think so at all. TAPPER: No?TRUMP: No. He's proud of his heritage. I -- I respect him for that. TAPPER: But you're saying he can't do his job because of that. TRUMP: Look, he's proud of his heritage. OK? I'm building a wall. Now, I think I'm going to do very well with Hispanics.

  28. What, exactly, gives you the insight that it had "nothing to do with race"? As @meangreenacct added, Trump never admitted to being wrong about this and doubled down that 'they must have been doing something' if they weren't guilty of the rape. Now, you could take that back to Trump being absolutely incapable of admitting he was wrong, which is most definitely a personality flaw he has. Except, this is not an isolated incident and instead part of a well documented pattern of behavior. I'm not sure what this has to do with anything. The AG greenlighting a policy that also happens to kill convicted white people along with PoC doesn't absolve Trump of racism.

  29. Also not even getting into the fact that he must have never taken and/or legitimately passed a basic civics class if he believe U.S. representatives have that kind of control over their districts as it relates to directly impacting living conditions. Their job is to represent their district in creating federal laws (with the hope that those laws have a positive benefit for their constituents and represents their wants and needs). It's not like he is out there appropriating money for fixing pot-holes, funding the police force, etc.

  30. What's worse is his insistence after they were exonerated that they were still guilty...he spends his time pointing out the flaws/crimes committed by those in minority communities or non-Christian faiths, but barely a whisper about mass shootings committed by those with white nationalist/supremacist beliefs. Pointing out flaws in various cities/parts of America is not inherently racist. It's the way Trump does it, only in reference to minority areas and using dehumanizing language like infested and saying no human would want to live there (the people that do aren't human?). It's not like he spends his time pointing out how bad things are re: poverty and drug epidemic in say a more white area, like Kentucky. Let's not even get into the fact that Trump's own son in law is a landlord in Baltimore with numerous violations for substandard living conditions.

  31. Exactly. I challenge you to come up with anything racist between the times of when he called for five innocent black men to be executed and when he told four members of the US Congress to go back to their own countries. Since we're using those as the cutoff dates, they don't count. Also Baltimore doesn't count, because it comes after the 'go back to your own countries' end date.

  32. You tell me if you think they are. Donald Trump is a racist and a sexist. Donald was not raised the same way I was or he would not talk like he does. My parents raised me in a different manner, Church is and was a part of my upbringing. My reading of the Bible does nor approve of the actions of this person. My parents raised me that if you do not have anything good to say about someone do not say anything at all. I will be quiet now...........

  39. From Wikipedia - History[edit] The stadium, named for the game it hosts, was opened in September 1963 with a Texas Western win over North Texas State. The opening play was a 54-yard touchdown run by Larry Durham of the Miners. The land on which the stadium sits was originally donated by the university to El Paso County, who built the stadium for the school and the Sun Bowl game. Both had previously used Kidd Field, the school's current track and field venue, which seats 15,000. The city had realized that the game could not expand its audience or the list of teams that it could invite without a bigger stadium, so the Sun Bowl was built in a natural bowl adjacent to the west. It originally sat 30,000, with only the sideline grandstands. The playing field runs nearly north–south (tilted about 10° NW–SE)at an elevation of 3,910 feet (1,190 m) above sea level.
