  1. Good looking group of almost all of the 2020 commits on campus yesterday.

  2. #11 is Williams. Roberts is #87. Renfro is #1. He is right behind Coach Littrell. Roberts is to right of Renfro. Burke wasn’t there due to a track meet. This is a pic of boys hanging out at the top of #NewDenton

  5. 2-2 has to be a minimum. A 1-3 start would be disastrous. I think 3-1 is very doable and 4-0 is not out of the realm of possibilities.

  7. My educated guess of the four that are missing are TE Jake Roberts, C Dane Jackson, RB Isaiah Johnson, and CB Tavorice Weaver. The ones that I believe that I can identify are OL Jett Duncan (64), DL Ta'Shoyn Johnson (96), OL Kade Bond (70), DB Jordan Nichols (7), DL Jamal Ligon (88), DB Jason Kerl (24), WR Loronzo Thompson (3), TE Christian Lee (6), LB Jacobi Johnson (15) and DB Garnett Burke (11). The numbers of the two on the back row are not visible but I believe that they are QB Cade Renfro and OL Erik Williams. Renfro is 6'4" and Williams is 6'5"; two of our tallest committments.

  10. Odus Mitchell was national coach of the year in 1966, had seven consecutive winning seasons, and won ten conference championships. I think it is fair to say he belongs.

  11. How do you beat Fine. Pressure up the middle and contain on the edges. How do you beat that D? Tight ends on quick in and outs and a hurry up! This will be a great year for Fine and UNT.

  12. I feel good about the offensive line this year. Manase Mose was all-conference and he, along with his brother Sosaia and D'Andre Plantin were given all-conference mention by Phil Steele. Woodworth has been reliable for his career regardless of position. We'll also use tight ends more so that Fine will have better protection. In the Utah State game don't forget that Fine was without our top receiver as well. Utah State was also highly underrated.

  18. Like it or not, the fact that we dismiss UTSA as a rival is actually part of the rivalry.

  19. Presumably after Lane realized two decade veteran of CUSA football Brent Stockstill was out of eligibility, he allowed him to stay on as a staff member for FAU. https://www.murfreesboropost.com/sports/brent-stockstill-joins-kiffin-s-coaching-staff-at-fau/article_72581da4-af38-11e9-bffd-e7f5d9efdfe3.html "The Blue Raiders defeated FAU with Brent Stockstill under center the last two seasons and he will be on the other side of the field across from his father, MTSU coach Rick Stockstill, when the Blue Raiders play at FAU in a Conference USA game on Oct. 12 in Boca Raton."

  20. UAB no longer has a team full of grown men playing against boys. They will regress significantly this season. UTSA is a dumpster fire and even they doubt they will win much this season. Other than that, I count the other games as toss ups and don't really know what to expect from MTSU this year

  23. Telegraph Avenue is the main strip but there are many options right near campus. If you want more upscale, there are restaurants and bars on the Northside of campus in an area called the “Gourmet Ghetto”. Berkeley has world class dining and no shortage of places with endless variety. The two must go places for me are Chez Panisse, the birthplace of the American farm to table movement and one of the most influential restaurants in the US (make a reservation way in advance. I prefer the more casual and a la carte upstairs cafe to the more formal, set menu downstairs restaurant) and Top Dog. Simply, some of the best hot dogs and sausages you’ll ever have. Top Dog is where every student for 50 years has eaten and is iconic. I dream of the place. New York hot dogs leave me hugely unsatisfied.

  24. NT put DD in the HOF. Standards are definitely not high, when a coach with a soso record and a propensity to criticize his own school is honored. At this point, Littrell has not won a conference championship or bowl game. If he can add those two accolades to his resume, than he is a shoo-in.

  26. The tone of this write-up presents Reeder as the reason we will win the CUSA title. The missing puzzle piece from the last couple seasons, if you will.

  27. I love our “fans” First it’s, “We aren’t winning” Then it’s “Yeah, we’re winning but the other teams are horrible and we can’t string winning seasons together” Then it’s “We’re winning, and have consecutive seasons of 9 victories, but we ALMOST lost games!”

  29. Pessimisticism is ok, but don't made up your own facts. Fine went out in the first quarter, and played most of it injured

  30. I think in some regard it's a good thing we got a new OC for this reason. The new stuff that Reeder is introducing will hopefully be different enough to confuse our opponents after their film study.

  35. I don’t get the push for a LaTech rivalry. I think there should be some hatred involved and I just don’t hate the Ruston Cowdogs, I despise SMUg and nUTSAck each for different reasons. Maybe I’m the only one?

  36. No need to call me a dummy because I didn't know the music. I am sure there are a lot of things you don't know. I just wanted to know where the music came from because it sounded similar to the music from the video game Galaga. I could get nasty back, but I won't.

  37. It's because they've been fans of the football program at LATech for more than 8 years, and understand football fandom etiquette, unlike a certain school in San Antonio.

  38. First of all, North Texas needs a rivalry. That's how you maintain some semblance of interest in the Football season from year to year. I used to say that I don't really care who our rivalry is with, just as long as we have one, but that's not true.......anymore. If we can continue to develop a rivalry with La Tech, that would be great! It's a manageable day drive down there. It's a very pleasant drive. And the La Tech fans are great! After our last home game there, FFR and I went to the La Tech fans favorite Bar in downtown Ruston, and were treated like real guests.

  39. You may not realize that Ramsey only played in 29 games in his career. Fine has already played in 40. However, Fine is a much superior QB to Ramsey. Ramsey was a high risk thrower with a comparative low completion percentage and record number of interceptions. His teams were 22-6-1 versus Fine at this point 23-17.

  40. It is technically correct that the ten game winning season included a forfeit. However, this was a very close game and certainly could have been swayed by the use of one or more ineligible players. It is not like Miss State steamrolled NT and the only way NT could have won is by forfeit. This was a SEC team, NT played away that was as dirty as they come. As I remember they put Walter Chapman out of two of the games using crack back blocks.

  41. Vito is an idiot. This entire quote is wrong. First, UTSA isn't a rival. UTSA doesn't get the fans riled up. The UTSA game isn't circled on the calendar when the schedule comes out. Many, including Vito, have tried to verbally strong arm the rest of us into calling it a rivalry when most fans just do not care. Rivalries are created over time which our history with UTSA doesn't have. Let me repeat ... UTSA IS NOT A RIVAL. It could develop into one but it isn't at this time. If you believe UTSA is our rival then understand that you are significantly in the minority.

  42. His record out of conference was awful because those were the games that were scheduled to finance the program during his time here. Thankfully, Coach Littrell only has 1 of those per year (balanced out by a paid win VS FCS). Coach Dickey had 3 or 4 per year.

  43. What was SL conference wins before NT...he didn't have any as a HC. And I suppose beating Cinni was just a accident. I was never excited about MVC either... and they occasionally had good teams. You deal with what conference your in and go. I mean I'm not real crazy about CUSA...Look where our division was ranked after last year. Bottom Line...who had a better record than 4 conference title's and a BOWL win! Not defending DD but after years of being beaten down DD got us up and excited.

  45. I never understood why UNT alumni’s root for other teams they have no affiliation with until a couple of years in my college career. It’s all about socializing and following a trend. A friend I work with is a UNT alumni and likes his school and the sport teams, but he is a die hard Arkansas fan because growing up his dad liked Arkansas. I mean he buys more of their merchandise and even has a Arkansas license plate cover. You think after that ass whooping we gave them last year he would leave the dark side and join the good guys again...nope not at all. There was a article I read a couple of years ago that 90% of UT fans didn’t even go to UT.....nothing but a bunch of weak bandwagon fans.
