  2. crazy to think had Guyton stuck around there would have been 2 WR from UNT on that list.

  3. The tide is turning there. The longer both NT and LATech stay consistently good, the more intensely that rivalry will develop. The UTSA "rivalry" was short-lived because both schools were on a roller-coaster ride for a while there. Now, UTSA is about where I expect them to remain for a while, and NT & LATech will remain consistently good for the foreseeable future. NT & LATech both have excellent leadership from football HC up.

  4. UNT Texas Rice Houston UTSA KU TX State SMU UMass Colorado A&M Harvard Advantages: When I visit in-laws (Houston/KC) I have the excuse of going to UNT football and avoiding them for 2-6 hours pending tailgates. Fiancee loves cape cod/other ritzy northeast areas, so drop her off and go to UMAss/Harvard vs UNT game. Denver to Austin is direct and cheap on Southwest and I like running. Every road game is south on 35 or in Austin, which means all texas roadtrips are less than 3 hours, which means roadtrip wont be more than $28 in gas pending OPEC. "You can't spell BLUNT without UNT" shirts could be popular in boulder. Disadvantages: Yale may get jealous that Harvard is in our conference. No one likes UMass. UT/ A&M might not have enough of a regional footprint to compete and really add anything to a school of our stature. We might lose players who decide to float the river in San Marcos rather than play the football game. Too many clips of Necessary Roughness might be shown.

  6. I find my stress level is better managed when I don't worry about what the head clown writes on his twitter feed. The public knew what they were getting when they elected him.

  7. If you click on the v looking symbol on the top right corner of the tweet, there is an option to "copy link to tweet" then you just paste it here. 🙂 Great to have the Lee family in the Mean Green family! GMG!

  8. DRC: Several factors have contributed to UNT's growth. School officials cite move to C-USA as key factor https://dentonrc.com/sports/a-whole-new-ballgame/article_157d7c1b-9e36-536b-afee-0a48853248cb.html

  9. I don't recall if this was posted on here last year, but on a bit of a random whim I decided to go back and try and find an archive of the Arkansas Radio Network broadcast of the game against North Texas. The best I could find was the episode of On Air with Chad Morris the following week. I decided to listen to it. The game against North Texas was discussed VERY generically. Amazingly, unless I missed it, not only did they only vaguely discuss the game, North Texas (nor any of our players) were even mentioned by name. I quit listening when they started previewing the Auburn game the following week (which was about 40 minutes in...they spent a lot of time talking about ANYTHING but getting blown out by North Texas). 20. and the Bronx and Detroit and Cincinnati will this latest latest tweet-storm cause any of the morally righteous, fiscally prudent, ethically christian conservatives to start distancing from their most vocal representative? or is everyone so invested in their team's brown-shirt jersey that they'll make excuses for this blatant racism again as well?

  22. I lived mostly on Fry Street to the dismay of my poor parents. I only lived in Denton one year. Lived with some buddies closer to Dallas and commuted for the last 3 (one of many horrible ideas, circa my early twenties). I had a few lost loves that I stayed with frequently at Woodhill and another misc apartment building by TWU. The apartments are still there... The women are long gone. 😂

  25. Dude's been like that since ever and he was taught to operate that way by his own father. Either the voter knew and wanted this or wasn't paying attention. I knew he was a trainwreck and I've only been around a little over 35 years. You could see anything he did from the 80s on and know he's a mess.

  26. UNT had to wait nearly 39 years before its next conference football game against a Division I-A opponent from Texas.

  27. I'm curious as to why you would pick ULM over USM? The golden eagles have more of a deep-rooted football program IMO.

  30. CUSA West is fine for us, but in reality, it’s just a bad league, full of SBC teams that got to move up because the Big east imploded into the AAC and invited the ones they wanted. If you got left behind, you provide no market for anyone to jump up and get excited about. Its way better than we had in the SBC, but it’s never gonna be a league that will make the AAC or MWC worried that their are being pushed down from their pedestals of being the top two leagues in the G5.

  31. Yep. And CUSA is actually a very good men's soccer conference. Kentucky (yes, that Kentucky...the SEC does not sponsor men's soccer) finished ranked #3 nationally. Charlotte finished the year ranked #14, and ODU finished in the receiving votes category.

  32. North Texas is a hotbed for developing soccer talent. Just look at how many players from the Gold Cup roster are from here or went through the FC Dallas academy. I fully agree with you that a Men's soccer program would be relevant almost immediately if we can draw in the talent. We hate them but SMU is usually one of the top Men's Soccer programs in the country. Men's soccer would be much more beneficial for us IMO.

  35. Whether it’s cusa, mountain west, Mac, sunbelt, etc....other than the fans from those teams in those conferences, nobody cares! I live in Houston and I’m the only UNT grad out of 1,000. Nobody knows anything about unt other than what I’m constantly saying. It’s sad but true. Wish it wasn’t. But, I love my team and will cheer as hard as any Aggie fan or auburn fan (my wife) out there.

  36. A few years ago when I was living in Virginia someone this board bought a uniform from the Heart of Dallas Bowl and shipped it to me (I paid for the jersey and shipping, of course). I'd suggest working out something like that.
