  2. Before the mode delete this, I wanted to get the word out that Keegan Brewer with throw the 1pitch tonight at the Collin County alumni game at the Rough Riders. Come on out to see the Legend. Keegan is now a Frisco Fire Fighter.

  4. If these are the real deal, freshly battered and dipped, corn dogs from the state fair and similar to what we had at Fouts....this is the best news of the year. Even better than Seth not leaving for K-State.

  7. Not our loss at at all when Cal and Texas Tech get added to the schedule as replacements. Sidebar: I've noticed in a couple of forums and comment sections, particularly in The Athletic, that Army fans are really salty about this.

The defense has gaps to fill, and the 2019 schedule has the Mean Green with two crucial conference road games against Southern Mississippi and Louisiana Tech.

  10. That’s what I was hoping for when I first read the other day that Dr. Smatresk was placed on the executive board. Rick

  11. I never follow these articles. It's always a crap shoot for their rankings of Group of 5 programs, and what has Southern Miss shown that has everyone rank them so high? Genuine question. Everyone has them as favorites and I'm not sure as to why

  12. So far, next to kettle corn my favorite food at The Ap has surprisingly been the barbecue sandwiches. Decent price and a decent flavored sandwich. Rick

  13. I hear that concern. This staff has proven they can take under rated/under recruited skill kids and turn them into solid players. I think this kids recruitment will pick up as schools boards fill up

  14. This is perfect. The only thing that will turn the tide on the general CFB attendance slide is finding ways to make the stadium experience stand apart from the many alternatives available to those who aren't as die hard as the ones on this board. Many are motivated to make at least the annual trek out to Globe Life Park to get food items that can't be duplicated elsewhere. This vending relationship adds one more reason to say "the Apogee experience is unmatched."

  15. The Star sucks as a basketball venue. Great location, but that is not a basketball venue and it looks poor on television. Somebody lock Judy in there and let’s run far, far away from there.

  16. As I and others have posted before,...Judy needs to go. But after reading that I’m starting to think that as a conference maybe we deserve what we have? In the very least we know Marshall see’s the problem as well. Rick

  18. Rice game that year. A friend and I were roasting their defense and one of the defensive coaches. My friend told them to go recruit better players so the coach turned around and yelled "F*ck off!" To my friend. It was amazing. I cussed back at them and was warned I would be escorted out if it happened again. It was worth it though after the Rice coach responded. We won the game and as the players were walking along the student section giving high fives, one of our number 8s, I believe it was Trice, jumped onto the the wall and all us students swarmed him smacked his helmet as we cheered. We nearly dragged him into the seats. Lifelong UNT fans were made that night. I'll always remember it.

  20. Did we play offense or did they just give us those points?

  21. Because they are USM by damn and they used to be good. Nevermind that NT has beaten them 3 straight and by 30-7 last year. They do return a lot of starters from a mediocre 6-5 team, but I really don't see anyway they should be picked above NT.

  24. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/north-texas-football-mean-green-prediction-preview-2019 Winning a tough road game at Louisiana Tech could put UNT in the West Division driver's seat. UNT finishes the regular season against defending division champion UAB in Denton, where it has an 11–1 record over the past two seasons.

  26. Eh, doesn't seem like Littrell wants to do that Hair-Griffin, Darden were both HS QB's and we haven't used either for a trick play. Either way, he's a good athlete, and I'm sure they'll figure out how to use him.

  29. Looks like Clay Jennings is paying dividends on the recruiting trail.

  30. That's gonna depend on how hard he wants to work, and I'm sure that ethic was assessed by coach Jennings prior to an offer going out.

  32. Everyone thought TheReal_jayD was talking about high school kids when he said three committed last night. Nope. Corny Dogs and Funnel Cakes are two of the three. Expect Deep Fried Twinkies to commit over the weekend! These signings will help us win the conference "Best Stadium Food" title this year!

  34. Orrr..... its a billion dollar business which actually pays money to its top players, who can have a career in it, and who can be ambassadors for the university post-graduation. To your graphic violence point... they can always just play NBA 2k. . Look at what the Mavs esports team has. Also, carpal tunnel can be developed from any job with overexertion on the keypad, not just video games. And its not just video games that cause a sedentary lifestyle.... give me a break. Kudos to UNT for getting out in front of a growing trend. In case you dont realize how big Esports is... Arlington literally built a stadium dedicated to esports

  35. You will be talking about Fine for sure.

  36. Uh...no...I’ll push back on that. If you look at the schools that actually sponsor e-sports it’s a who’s who of nobody institutions. Secondly, it doesn’t take a millennial to realize you don’t need a scholarship to be good at video games. This is a marketing ploy. To call it shrewd is respectfully laughable

  37. The punter incident sounds familiar as well. We we're ruthless from start to finish those last few home games. I remember the UTSA players showing us up when it was clear they were going to win. We started chanting "no postseason" because they weren't yet eligible for bowl games due to some FBS rules regarding them being in a transitional season. There were many great moments that year. We as students really helped create an amazing home field advantage. It's a shame they took the seats away until now.

  40. 2013 was my senior year of college, that was a year I will never forget! It's real awesome to hear what that 2013 season did for the freshman class! Just goes to show, what winning and the publicity of it does for our future alumni at UNT. Think about what Fine/Littrell are doing for current and future fans to come!

  41. I do. I'm glad he and baby Briles are gone because that Houston team is going to be very different. King is very good, and Holgorsen's an awesome coach, but that Briles offense is special. Only a matter of time before Kendall gets a shot somewhere. He's just gotta get the stink off his name a few more years and resign himself to never being able to bring dad on as an assistant.

  43. It was 1978........we signed the #1 running back in Texas, Milton Collins (from Blooming Grove). He was that year's Eric Dickerson or Adrian Peterson. He was the top running back in the state. If there had been National 100 lists (like Rivals) back then, Milton would have been on it. Back then, players could sign conference letters of intent in the SWC. (They signed those a week before National letters of intent were signed.) What those conference letters of intent did......once a player signed one of those, no one else in the conference could sign the kid. But, teams that weren't in the SWC, could sign a player to a National letter of intent, which overrode a conference letter. Milton had signed a SWC letter of intent with A $ M. Well, Hayden went in, and stole Milton from them. I'll never forget the coverage we got for that. Channel 4 (then CBS) showed Hayden arriving at the Collins' family house on signing date. As I recall, it had snowed that morning, so Hayden was shown there, wiping his feet off, as he entered the Collins' house. Unfortunately though, Milton was never the stud in college, that he was in high school. I guess, in his case, going from 1A or 2A (whatever Blooming Grove was) was too much of a jump up in talent. I don't think he ever ran for even 300 yards (or more) in any season. As a matter of fact, toward the end of his career, he was switched to D Line. And, as I recall.....he also did our kickoffs one season. One more thing about Milton. Bless his heart, he may have had a tough life......because he was the oldest looking 18 year old, I have ever seen, before or since. He looked at least 30. But for a while.......signing date and the months afterward....his signing gave us a lot to crow about. Too bad his UNT career wasn't a little better.
