  2. Everyone thought TheReal_jayD was talking about high school kids when he said three committed last night. Nope. Corny Dogs and Funnel Cakes are two of the three. Expect Deep Fried Twinkies to commit over the weekend! These signings will help us win the conference "Best Stadium Food" title this year!

  5. Confirmed this is a walkon for the 2019 class

  6. Looks like just a SHSU offer so far, but that picture is of him & coach Mainord. And if coach Mainord likes you as a WR, you're probably very very good. A lot of the guys we offered early on had no other offers, then blew up. Glad Trey committed when he did. EDIT: Looks like Trey is a walkon in the 2019 class, not 2020. Still glad to have him aboard!

  8. More like Seth hasn't recruited. Same as we haven't won a championship. Not Seth can't win a championship.

  10. Eh, doesn't seem like Littrell wants to do that Hair-Griffin, Darden were both HS QB's and we haven't used either for a trick play. Either way, he's a good athlete, and I'm sure they'll figure out how to use him.

  11. Not our loss at at all when Cal and Texas Tech get added to the schedule as replacements. Sidebar: I've noticed in a couple of forums and comment sections, particularly in The Athletic, that Army fans are really salty about this.

  13. ;I know rankings give teams bragging rights, but SL and staff's recruiting is indicative to me of how flawed the system can be. I know that the higher rated players tend to work out better over the long haul, but how many kids does this staff find that aren't rated yet, we offer, 5 other teams offer and then the young man gets rated by one of the services? I still like to see how a class performs on the field a couple of years down the road before giving a true grade. Did anyone think a young man from a small OK town would develop into our career passing leader and a candidate for all the major award? Did we think he would be the leader he has become? We never know. The point of all of this is that in today's day and age with information pretty available to all, it is fun to rank these classes, so why not celebrate where we are right now? Publicity is publicity.

  14. He’s getting attention. Let’s hope Mason Fine balls out this year and takes North Texas to heights unknown. Crazy how just one QB has elevated this school..and program. Imagine what a long succession of quality teams would do. 🤨🤔

  17. I was looking at the all time football recruits for North Texas according to 24/7. Mason Fine, Jeffery Wilson and Zach Orr were so far down the list, it was ridiculous. Hint, it's easier to start at the bottom to get to those guys sooner. That goes to show that giving stars to players do not necessarily give a great indication of how well they will perform at the next level. https://247sports.com/college/north-texas/Sport/Football/AllTimeRecruits/

  18. I sure do love college football Saturdays at The App. The App is the best small stadium in the country. If there's one thing RV did right, it's THE APP

  19. That's gonna depend on how hard he wants to work, and I'm sure that ethic was assessed by coach Jennings prior to an offer going out.

  20. If that is all true, it is the one thing that could make coaches hard to keep here, if we stay in Conference USA. Keep winning and recruiting we will have options.

  22. 1/3 spoke to several people in the industry and they believe he’s a kid that is very unpolished meaning the potential for him to become an elite player for us is very high. A lot of HS kids you get usually have received so much training and work that, what you see is what you get. Not what I’m hearing about this kid.

  32. I'm assuming we'll have some new stuff coming soon? And for the love of everything....if they don't have a #6 jersey or tshirt for kids this year.... My kid is gonna lose it. Mason Fine is the greatest thing of all time.

  33. There's only 7 schools in the top 60 with a lower rating average per player than us. While our efforts this year have been impressive we will likely only slide from here and have trouble staying in the top 60 depending on how many we sign. It's good we have this many commits but I would still say it's too early to celebrate. Especially since Litrell potentially leaving could lead to a mass exodus of commits anyways you never know.

  34. I love seeing us up in the rankings, but let’s also tap the breaks and be honest: this is a short-term thing based upon volume of recruits. If you look at the average rating of the recruits of the other schools, they are generally significantly higher but they have fewer verbals at this point. I am, however, quite pleased with the results to this point and like the balance of this class so far. The fact that we have a highly regarded Defensive Tackle on the board in June is phenomenal. (Let’s get one more please!) I think we are all going to be very happy with this class. I hope that in the short term, this high (but temporary) ranking will help us land more higher 3 star players in this class. Then maybe we will finish top50 - which would be amazing.
