  1. Big deal. He was known for not putting in the work and making poor in-game decisions. We have the much better quarterback. End of discussion.

  2. Nope. I have a problem with each of the things you listed, and think that having college athletics and demanding accountability are not mutually exclusive. It really isn’t that complex.

  4. ALL "G5s" need to get in line with UCF. It's in each and every "G5" programs interest to follow this model. They NEED us to fill their schedule. The cellar dwellers of the "G5" NEED these games as well. But the fans of programs like Florida, OK, OSU, etc. will not stand for having 2-3 UMASS/Akron/UTEP type games on their home slate every year; especially with decreasing attendance numbers. Get in line with UCF and hold firm. They ("P5") will eventually cave, it's inevitable.

  6. So far we have 15. King 14. Ozougwu 13. T Davis 12. K Smith 11. Mike Law So let’s play this out under Vito’s logic: 10. Robinson 9. M Mose 8. Dardin 7. S Mose 6.Torrey 5. Muhammad 4. Woodworth 3. Hamilton 2. Bussey 1. Fine I personally would include Novil on a top15 list for sure.

  7. Props to MacLeod on this one. Now it’s up to NT to win a bunch so we get on there for away games.

  9. Frankly, a lot of perception may ride on Kyler Murray’s performance this year.

  11. Right, sure, ok, but how do those numbers compare to Thompson, Scott Davis or Andrew Smith???!!????

  12. No doubt Novil should be ahead of most of those guys. His position is not glamorous, but extremely critical, and his play has been stellar so far (as a true Sophomore last year).

  14. Truly the off-season with uniform talk, only this year we have taken a step down and are now discussing band uniforms.

  15. It would certainly fit the long time North Texas image of the school of music, than just about any other uni design you could come up with. PLUS, the band could raise money by selling green fedoras like they'd be wearing to the general public. Now, if you were trying to capture the image of my generation, then you would need to come up with tie dyed uni's.

  16. North Texas, La Tech, FAU and Marshall/S. Miss will/should be the marquee teams featured
    2 points
  17. It may. I was just thinking out loud on how to do it efficiently and cost effective. If we land a couple more home/home series with the likes of Tech, keep winning all while maintaining our attendance trajectory this will be reality faster than most think. And yes, even without having an official sellout yet. Infrastructure is created on vision.

  18. I support CUSA but I ain't watching Rice vs UTEP, CHARLOTE vs ODU, FAU VS FIU. Actually there are a lot of matchups I wouldn't watch. Now imagine a casual sports fan. 10 is enough.

  19. An upper deck above the student side would get us to 40-41. They could then fill in the corners on both sides of the wing as tall as the current student section. That would be the path of least resistance to get us to 55kish.

  20. This is serious progress. I commend the league for finding an actual network on a TV that football fans know of and can show the best games of the week to showcase the conference and tell recruits that actual NFL front offices and scouts will have even better coverage of their games than Facebook or something call beIN.

  23. At some point, it would be nice to see the conference set some rules with regards to these issues.

  24. Lane has taken the "thug" approach. I guess since he is having success, the school and the conference do not care. I think (IMO) what he is doing is a poor reflection on CUSA

  25. Andrew you are a great fan but some of these posts are head scratchers my friend. Did Benford ever sign a quality guy from Guyer? I’ll hang up and listen. This cycle Grant has literally landed our second highest rated recruit of the past decade, a nationally ranked JuCo point guard and a key player from a NCAA tourney team.

  29. Typical whine. Always someone else’s fault...always not fair. Responsibility is always for someone else. Got it! By the way..just met a 19 year old from Australia that is on a two-month holiday from his job...yep two months...who has been working since age 14 and has saved enough from his paychecks to pay cash (about $10,000 Australian) for this two-month vacation and has two years of college paid for with additional savings. Kid is going to pay 100% of his own college expenses..debt free. So, tell me again why student loan debt is a must and why things are so different today! BS on this boomer garbage. Responsibility and proper planning know no age and is not “out of style” as you seem to think. Fun facts for kids.

  30. Whether fair, accurate, or not - people are going to make the stature comparison regardless.

  31. I don't think so. Kyler is a WAY more mobile QB than Mason. They have very different styles of play. It'd be hard to place one's expectations on the other's performance.

  35. Positive for the league. But 10 games is nothing. No reason not to air many more instead of watching a bunch of wash ups sit around talking about the next days row of games.

  36. As long as UNT stays near the top of the CUSA, this will be a great opportunity for exposure. While NFL Network is a secondary network, its one of the premier networks for football. My only gripe is that 10 games is nothing... The battered UNT fan in me says we maybe get one of those slots, and of course it’ll be the one time we get clobbered on. UAB will get a bunch because they’re still able to milk their sob story.

  37. First good thing that useless clown Judy McLeod has ever done. This is a very solid move for some good league exposure. I imagine it doesn't include Bowl Games as those are primarily ESPN deals, correct?

  42. ---The state provides less funding to public schools and colleges than it once did .....meanwhile gives businesses tax cuts... This was especially true in the Gov. Perry era. (no fan of him) ... The state once provided over 60% to public schools and now it is about 35% or less. I can't remember exact numbers but my enrollment bill at NTSU or UNT in 1964 was in the area of $100-$150... not counting housing and food or books .. most books cost me about $15 or about $120 in 2019 dollars... (min wage was $1.15 then.).

  44. If a guy graduates, I salute him and wish him good luck. Sad to see him leave obviously (and disappointed), but I can't hold it against him either. You come to school to go to school, right? If he wants to play ball somewhere else after graduating, more power to him.
