  1. Aune looks like #2 and Martin looks like #3. Bean still tries to make up for his indecision with his legs. He does have good wheels, but then, just about everyone else does too. BV is right, Keune will probably redshirt. He does have some Fine-like qualities however. Addaway looked pretty good. He weaved through the middle of the defense for his first TD. He has very good speed, but I still haven't been able to evaluate his power running. Siggers is getting back into rhythm as a rb after spending a season at DB. White looks pretty good and Shorter made some pretty good catches, but he seemed a bit off after taking an uncomfortable fall in the endzone going for a fade pass. He got mugged most of the day by the DB's...…...as did all of the WR's. It looks like our DB's are being turned loose to go bonzai on the receivers. Hopefully they will then learn to dial it back. #20 and #40 looked good out there at LB. #32 was a monster. All the starting DL's were putting a lot of pressure on the QB's and I saw a lot of #45 and #46 around the ball when they were in there. That's good, because they both look like they are capable of jamming up the middle. just going by todays efforts, #47 seems to have the strongest leg. #49 under kicked a 50+ yrd FG attempt, and #47 had more than enough leg, he just missed. All the receivers had to battle a brutal cold gusty wind today. It never got over 48 degrees and the wind averaged around 15-20 mph. I was sooooo glad to get back into my truck.

  2. I like this addition. Always glad to bring in a 3 start lineman. The fact we went to Kentucky for this guy really gives me hope that our coaches are turning over every stone to find the best linemen we can attract. Thank you coaches! Keep up the good work.

  8. This. I will never shame a young man for changing his mind or wanting to press pause on making a decision at this stage of the process. I also don't fault 2019 de-commit Garrison Johnson for his decision but it's much better for all involved to have Carpenter be open about his second thoughts than it was when Johnson made his feelings known so late in the game.

  9. This just showed up in my inbox this morning from a buddy in Florida. Guaranteed to piss you off if you are sensitive (NOT my intent). If you have a sense of humor, watch it. 🙂

  10. Don't know why everyone gets so excited about commits.....especially this early. Let me know in December who's not pulling my chain.

  15. Hi ya'll - Some big news in Green Brigade world. Dr. Nicholas Williams has accepted the incredibly prestigious position as Conductor of Wind Ensembles at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in Australia. I am super thankful for the generous spirit Dr. Williams always afforded me and his continued passion for athletics' success as a multiple degree-earned alumnus. Today, his successor was announced. From College of Music Dean John Richmond: --- Welcome Daniel Cook!

  19. Not all 3-stars are created equal. This guy might have been the jewel of the class. Still, if he's going to commit elsewhere, it's better to know now. I wish him well.

  34. The spotter adjusts his position about 3 seconds in and moves again later, so that is not a good measure of where he finished his lifts. I just watched the video below and every one of these players uses poor lifting technique, poor arm position and bounce the bar off their chest to use momentum. Without my "green Kool-Aid an green googles", Young's reps were better than any in the attached video. http://www.nfl.com/m/share?p=%2Fvideos%2Fnfl-combine%2F0ap2000000145097%2FNFL-Scouting-Combine-Linebacker-bench-press

  35. I watched the elbows first and it seemed obvious he short armed about 5. The shirt I looked at after.

  36. I hadn't played it with sound but you're right. He does say 38 so I apologize for that. 32 would still be impressive but I wish we would be honest with the short armed reps. Like I said in an earlier post, all that matters is was the scouts think. The numbers are for the fans and "draft experts." The scouts know what they're looking for and what they saw at the pro day. Hopefully it's enough. I think Guyton's 40 time will get him picked on the 7th or priority UFA. Haven't looked too closely at the other guys yet.

  37. The video did not start at the beginning of his lifts. I have worked in the health and wellness industry since 1992, part of that time being a certified trainer, and the only bad lift was the last one where the spotter assisted him in finishing. I didn't watch the spotter's shirt, I watched Young's elbows. He got them, plus with that many scouts there, they are going to get away with stretching his total by ten.

  38. THIS. Honestly the GB has been at the point for sometime now where it is too big to be effective with "corps style" drill writing. Music choice is always subjective, but drill design leaves a lot to be desired for the typical half-time show audience member. Competitive high school marching band (UIL & Bands of America) is big in TX, and many of those students want to attend a top Music Ed/Performance program like UNT, so I don't know if reducing the size of GB to make it more competitive and improve quality would be the something the College of Music would consider, as Music Ed students (wind/brass/percussion) are required to participate in GB. I think the new director can bring a mix of the corps style marching we are accustomed to, as well as the show band style that our TX counterparts at TTU and UT perform. A solid pregame and halftime show will greatly enhance the game day experience!

  39. That’s still gonna be what the Music Ed majors are learning, so likely what they’ll be implementing, but the cited complaints around ‘moseying‘ onto the field & whatnot should likely change.

  40. Incredible opportunity for Dr. Williams! Proud of that guy. Looking forward to what soon-to-be-Dr. Cook brings to the table. Judging by his DCI background, I believe @SilverEagle's overtures for "pageantry" from the Green Brigade are about to be heeded.
