Hmm. AAC leadership apparently has friends in high places, but I'm legitimately wondering if that conference has figured it out.... to the point that even after Texas/OU/OSU/Kansas leave the Big12, schools like Houston & SMU won't want to join up with the Big 12 leftovers, rather staying with the AAC. If NT can keep up momentum better than we have (football & basketball), we can position ourselves nicely to fit with the Big12 leftovers if SMU decides to stick with the AAC. Also, pretty please can we get rid of McCleod & bring in someone who can run a conference? C-USA has done nothing but backslide under her leadership.8 points

This is what sets AAC as the closest to a P6. But we just need to keep getting better in every sport the rest will take care of it self.4 points

If CUSA is going to level the financial playing field, it's got to start on the gridiron. We've got two shots in 2019 to do our part... Saturday, Sept 7 - at SMU Saturday, Sept 28 - vs HOU3 points

"November 5, 2022, Arkansas will play host to Liberty University. "Normally, there wouldn’t be much to examine in the case of a football game. Sure, there could be the usual conjecture about starting offensive lines, or debate on which defensive scheme would be most effective, but nothing sinister should ever be expected to dominate conversation. Nevertheless, it will. "Liberty University is one of the most controversial schools in the NCAA, and for good reason. There is tremendous baggage at almost every level, from coaching to administration. By engaging in a contract with Liberty, the University of Arkansas will be both legitimizing and financially rewarding a history of racism, sexism, and outright malevolence. This cannot be allowed to happen." https://medium.com/@tuckerpartridge/an-open-letter-to-hunter-yurachek-chad-morris-joe-steinmetz-and-razorback-nation-6cd95d74f1fb?fbclid=IwAR3bYkg7iwYZ5zXcycw3tnvaCReJfaUzgiUR5H6SfkDyKIjrqczF44zr60Y3 points

Judging by their athletic facilities, money thrown around to join conferences, and upward trajectory, I'd say they can be a worthy independent. But it will take time.3 points

FML. We are in a vicious cycle of irrelevance. And this absolute dumpster fire of a conference commissioner is a disgrace. She has done nothing - nada - zilch.2 points

Just got around to listening to this. Those guys are pretty plugged in about CUSA and a myriad of other topics, really. The younger guy, Godfrey(?), seems to be particularly good.2 points

A quick look and NT has the worse record in the tournament 15-15. A lot of mediocre teams, hopefully NT can have success much like the men's team last year in this (buy your way in tournament). A good move if NT can at least last a couple of games. It will be interesting to see how Mitchell plays it. Three starters are seniors. Do you play for wins or experience or records for Bradley?2 points

This conference as it stands continues to not get any sort of credibility with the powers that be. I think this conference is much better at basketball, men’s and women’s, than anything else. Yet here we sit with another one bid. Don’t know what the deal is.2 points

Glad to hear Easly was back on the field is on track in his recovery. I was worried that injury might have taken him out of the game. Glad it didn't.2 points

What's telling isn't necessarily the numbers, but the lack of a Grant of Rights. AAC was expected to get between 6-10 million/team/year, and had to take the low end to avoid it. That means that a few schools expect to have... other options soon enough. If I'm not Cincy, Houston, Navy or UCF, I'm very happy with the money but already sizing up potential programs to date, because I know my time is limited.1 point

I read somewhere that Liberty put up 25 million to join the Sun Belt and the school was turned down. I also believe CUSA turned them down as well. I wonder if Liberty has the kind of backing to continue to be independent like a Norte Dame, Army, or BYU.1 point

You may be right, but I hope it does keep going. As they continue to move forward I believe they will need to get the support of the NFL. I think it is clear they are not trying to compete with, but basically, offer players a chance to get to the NFL. I would like to see The NFL basically place players with teams, sort of like AAA baseball.1 point

I'm not sure but are they referencing the cut he sustained on his hand during the FAU game when he was destroyed by two defenders. Everyone initially thought it was a wrist injury. Thats the game when Quinn came in and saved us from another blown lead loss1 point

From the article: "He dealt with a wrist injury in November" This wasn't public knowledge was it? I certainly didn't realize it. That could be an explanation on some of the overthrow-should-have-been-a-touchdown deep passes.1 point
