Say what you will... but I feel terrible for LSU. Having Tony Benford named head coach has to be the harshest penalty ever handed down by the NCAA.5 points

Simple answer, it can't be paid for.3 points

Much of the proposal is comical in its absurdity. It's poorly thought out, and in many ways, dangerously foolish. And of course there is the "how does it get paid for" question, that nobody wants to answer.3 points

Seems to go this way .... Conservative - Does not agree with a company - will stop using, but if you choose to that's on you Liberal/Progressive - Does not agree with a company - with protest and try to run them out of business Socialist-Dems - "Liberal/Progressive" AND will try to personally ruin any person and their family that chooses to purchase from that company - If they choose not to use you have no right to disagree.3 points

Agree. And even though I may not agree with some of those he’s having a discussion with I’m very proud of our students because it appears as if unlike at many other school’s he’s visited most of our students but for the one in particular, know how to respectfully carry themselves and have an adult conversation to get their points across.. For the record, the offer is for lefty combo guard Kevon Voyles (6’3″ combo guard). In the highlight package below, he appears to have some real range and according to a write up from 2017, he's engaged and energetic on the defensive end.2 points

No dude, you, a hard core leftist democrat...mentioned concern for children in your fantasy about Man Made Global Cooling/Man Made Global Warming/Man Made Climate Change/Climate Change. I was simply being a smart ass at that notion that your concern for climate change is about children because your side has decided to go off the reservation in regards to concern for children...(unless they’re immigrating children of course) and have chosen to start legally murdering them after birth. Thats all on your party...thus on you as well. . Rick2 points

I have no idea why the sudden need to trash Mike Canales. It’s gonna be a loooong offseason I suppose. Canales enjoyed coaching here and wanted to stay..something we don’t often see at North Texas. He never trashed us, our school or our facilities that I can ever recall. The man was a class act and always willing to stop and visit with anyone no matter how busy he seemed to be. He wanted to stay here and be our head coach and did all he could to stay here by earning the right taking over for Dodge and nearly beating K State,.... to interview to be McCarney’s OC, and did so.. Trash him all you want but he still remains as the last OC to win a bowl championship for North Texas.. Rick1 point

Anyone have any more info on this? I was poking around looking for new articles on Mason and I came across this interesting bit of news. The film festival is in Denton in April. https://www.tulsaworld.com/communities/skiatook/news/osiyo-voices-of-the-cherokee-people-showcasing-special-features-at/article_4f46b2a9-dad3-56a2-8b89-14b396420d5a.html From the article: "The producers of Cherokee Nation’s Emmy award-winning documentary series, “Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People,” have been selected to screen their short films at several major film festivals in 2019. What began as a monthly, 30-minute news magazine-style program in February 2015 has morphed into a weekly show and reshaped the way the tribe shares about its history, language, culture and people. Now Cherokee Nation is sharing those stories as individual short documentaries, competing in film festivals across the globe. The series, and the short documentaries within it, has earned numerous regional, national and international accolades, including five Heartland Regional Emmy awards and most recently Best Short Documentary at the LA Skins Fest, which featured more than 70 Native American, independent productions representing hundreds of reservations, nations and tribal organizations."1 point

The only feasible way, would be to rob everyone down to at least the lowest level millionaires, and when that doesn't cover the bills, they would basically have to shutdown the military and close the criminal justice system. Of course the remaining balance would be paid for by simply printing money, or so says Ocasio.1 point

How in the world do they propose to pay for this plan? That is the question they all, Harris, Warren, AOC, Booker, etc..., avoid at all costs.1 point

Absolutely. We really need a 4 who can actually spread the floor the way Mccasland wants and can rebound. With Miller graduating our internal options are Jahmiah Simmons, who is 6’4 and does not stretch the floor, and Abdul Mohamed who we haven’t seen yet but didn’t have an offer list like this.1 point

I love Mason, and I love Mean Joe, but we have a long way to go when an article like this is written with a shoutout to Jamize Olawale, but no mention of Abner Haynes. Not this writer’s fault he doesn’t know the history, of Haynes’ on-field accomplishments here, the AFL, & more importantly, the trail he blazed for minorities across the state of Texas. We got a statue of Mean Joe at Apogee. I only hope Abner can see his before it’s too late.1 point

When I was working I did work at two of the national laboratories in New Mexico. Both have departments in renewable energy. When I was in the two departments I discuss with the scientists on how it is going and they said progress has been made but getting 100% of fossil fuels will not happen for a long time if it at all. So the inventing part is not so easy and money is being spent on developing it. It will not be as easy as she says. Since we will be dead in 11.9 years I don't think we will make it. So retire early if you can enjoy the last 11.9 years on earth. If we do not get our spending in check we will have an economic collapse and no one will be a winner. The government expands beyond what it was attended to do. The only way to attack the national debt is to cut spending and raise taxes. We have gotten to that point. This problem has been known for many years but our leaders continue to spend money they don't have. We don't have leaders that have the guts to face the problem. Look at what the candidates are promising in the next election. How the heck are we going to pay for all of it. If we take all the 1% money it will fund our government for about 90 days, who is next in line. One of the many statements that have bothered from Cortez is: We need to give income who can not work (no problem here) but she goes to say we give an income to those unwilling to work (problem there). I don't consider being lazy a disability. Social Security problems have been well known for years. I remember a professor at NTSU ( 1978) talking about a Social Security shortfall in the future. If a little was done then we would not be facing the problem today. Obama said we had to stop kicking the can down the road and yet he did the same as the others have done in kicking it down the road. Nothing in life is free no matter what the leaders in Washington tell you. We all end up paying the bill in some manner.1 point

The earth has gone through, I believe, three other cycles of heating and cooling. Why is this never considered and discussed? Why are we so ready to throw the baby out with the bath water and not consider historical record?1 point

I can't get worked up over cow farts, auto emissions, etc., when there are 300 million of us (mas o menos) versus billions of others in the world who are too ignorant or unable to play along. There is no way we should bankrupt this country to carry the load for them. Besides, I am more concerned about that gigantic magma pool under Yellowstone that is due to blow or being blindsided by some massive cue ball whizzing out of the Asteroid Belt or a big comet from the Oort Cloud. Just let me suffocate slowly over time.1 point

You do realize its not the Daily's job to always paint UNT in a good light? They're not a PR arm of the university. It's ridiculous that UNT is trying to cut their funding when journalism has always been a bright spot for UNT and has produced some of our best alumni.1 point

I think the long CBI run, playing in Europe and Hawaii has taken it's toll on this team. Throw in the injuries and it's not hard to see why we look tired. Maybe we can put together enough energy to get past the first round game in Frisco.1 point
