  1. I think by the number of assistant coaches Seth has sent to the P5 ranks it is safe to speculate. As far as the most recent hirings Jennings has been one of the best if not the best DB coach in the region in the last 10 years. Bodie led one of the top 3 offenses in the FCS the last two years and led on big playoff runs. His up tempo pace and Seth air raid will be a fun combination to watch next season. As for Cobbs idk if you could have found better fit for a G5 RB coaching vacancy. Hall of famer at Alma Mater, TXHSFB coaching experience and relations ship and NFL experience. He Killed It.

  2. Bodie up tempo pace is very appealing to Seth. It was frustrating last year when we would be on drives and have teams on the ropes. Then sub and allow the defense to get fresh legs in. I believe it was equally frustrating to SL. I know Briles is hated for his actions or lack there of. But he was a hell of a football coach. I would not be surprised to see North Texas offense ran next year very similar to what Briles did at Baylor. The air raid with uptempo pace that allows you to wear down a defense and catch them off guard. Seth had a lot of mutual respect for GH and I think that is why he didnt step on his toes. But GH would like to let the defense set up. Then make the play calling decision off what the defense is giving you. As versus the other way around. Will be exciting to watch it Develop

  3. Just interviewed on Channel 4. Good publicity and good interview. Said if given the choice he would keep Mason Fine over Graham Harrell. He did praise Harrell and said he passed on several P5 programs until USC gave him an offer he couldn't refuse,.

  6. Over the last twenty plus years that I have had season tickets my wife on average attended once or twice a year. She came to all the CBI games last year and has made most games this year. Her favorite player is Ryan Woolridge. She says "he handles the basketball like a musician playing an instrument while performing ballet."

  7. Man Miller does so many little things for this team and really is the most clutch player we have in terms of making plays and shots when truly needed. Going to be tough to replace him

  8. FYI, Mel Kiper has Ejiya at #9 on his list of inside linebackers.

  12. I think y'all are seriously misconstruing what I meant by a triple option offense. a zone read with a screen to the weakside is a Triple option Play. Option 1: Hand The Ball Off Option 2: QB keep the ball and run Option 3: Throw the screen. You can have triple option plays and not be in a flexbone/wishbone formation Reeder clearly made a lot of use of those types of plays and I think the misdirection could be helpful

  13. Re-watching this great win over the past few nights. So much I could say about the game...first two quarters the Razorbacks shot them selves in the foot...our offense struggled at times...defense and special teams really stepped up, and I’m not talking about the fake fair catch - Arkansas ‘ starting field position and penalty after penalty really took their toll...both teams committed too much penalties. But In the 3rd we settled in and really took it to them. Our offense began to impose its will on the Razorbacks defense...several great receptions for long yardage...also some great rushes. What a quality win. SEC wins are hard to come by for the Mean Green historically. Watching the game again I see how fantastic this win was for our program, regardless of Arkansas’ record at the end of the season. Remember this win. Special season and team for our Mean Green. Sometimes I forget how awesome this win was for us...9 wins is such a great accomplishment, especially wins over Arkansas and SMU - certainly Arkansas who would’ve gladly used us as a primer a few years ago for their “real” schedule. Someone pointed out on another thread how our non-conference shedule in the past was so much more difficult, and I agree. It’s what makes this win so special. Really proud of these young men and the coaches. Screw the hogs. Great to see our Mean Green beat em down. Great to re-watch it again. And again. Go Mean Green.

  14. Here is Eastern Washington's stat card from last season. They were #3 in total offense and # 4 in scoring offense while staying balanced (#10 in rushing and #20 in passing offense). The only (minor) downside is TOP, where they ranked 117th out of 124. But I'm OK with this if teams are constantly chasing you from behind. Furthermore, you're never really out of a game if you can strike quickly. Should be an exciting season.

  20. https://winnersandwhiners.com/games/ncaab/2-14-2019/north-texas-vs-fau-prediction-8196/ A win in either this game or Saturday’s contest at Florida International would clinch a spot in the top pod, which would result in North Texas playing its final four games against the other top-five teams. It would also secure a top-five seed in the Conference USA tournament.

  27. Spread option plays, particularly a motioned 3rd option, in a spread offense is a very dangerous feather in the cap. Ask Urban Meyer, he won 2 nattys at UF doing it.

  28. I doubt it's gonna be a total scheme change. Didn't UT/OU invent/adopt the triple option, out of a will to win? My interest in winning is a higher priority than how it's done. I also think fans will come - and culture change will happen - if you win consistently for a decade. Don't look now, but Army is winning consistently. Started 3 years into Monken's tenure. Navy, historically, has had better success with it than Army. It can't win all the time because the top-tier P5 teams have too much speed to match/exceed the scheme. But it can, with the right recruits, give your peers complete fits.

  32. 54-52 Touchdowns to interceptions 4 years before Fine and Seth. 64-25 Mason Fine tds to ints. 11-11 Every other QB under Seth at UNT. Seth as an OC coached a first round pick, third round pick, a sixth round pick, and a guy now in the AAF. Seth thinks the world of Mason Fine so that really tells me something about the football skills of Mason Fine. At 6 feet Baker Mayfield proved you can draft a short Qb early. Kyler at 5 8 hopefully will prove that height isn't a problem again. Forget all this back-up rep talk. If Mason can stand he needs to be getting stats. UNT getting a QB drafted means more than a conference championship, a bowl win, or any kick return ever will to recruits.

  34. Criticizing the teaser headline is one thing, using that as an example of an entire paper's coverage is another. I think the supporting criticism brought forth in this thread by the OP and others is woefully short of the claims put forth. Also, given the paper has to resort to reprinting the Sports Information-provided game story is evidenced that any bad coverage are likely mistakes borne of a tiny budget than any grudge or overt bias. Same deal with the Daily -- it is run by glorified amateurs learning on the job. If we expect Pulitzer-worthy stuff there that is our mistake.

I have gotten my affairs in order and my will written out so I can make the following statement: I would rather have had a Riprock's burger and fried green beans, oriental express, Sabrosita, the taco place across the highway, or the stuff Katz was serving before eating some generic sub with NY paraphernalia plastered on the walls. It was nice knowing y'all.
