  2. @TheTastyGreek You can try and try to convert someone, but I think we have all found that a forced conversion is more harmful than good. In fact, I don't think there's a person here who been honest with themselves and accepted a new position as a result of these discussions. Whether you're a fan who stays close to Denton or one who is stonewalled away from the action with a fancy job somewhere like New Haven or Cincinnati, we all unique perspectices. Those Cincinnati fans may have a different perspectice not seeing all the changes under Wren. They fly in for high level events, put on their bowties and only enjoy the major and whole glories around athletics. So yes, Mr. Greek, you can try to convert with words, but people believe what they believe. Your oral prowess is not going to change things if someone is born a certain way and I wish you would get off your DSL and start accepting that the bye RV crowd has some valid thrust here.

  3. Brooks’ INT was an incredible one handed grab. Hall had the National’s top receiver covered on a pass attempt in the Endzone in the final seconds to preserve the win. Rick

  10. Every time you attempt to use a sex phrase in your posts, you somehow land it and butcher it simultaneously. May it never stop, because I enjoy every chance to peel back another layer of the weird onion that is Ben Gooding. Oh, and solid point with the rest of it

  17. The lighting system is LED and are like only 3 years old at this point. I think it was the university and not athletics that paid for the new lights. Tell Wells Fargo to (and their money) to take a hike if you don't like the logos. I agree it be nice to get all new digi-base boards but I think there are more pressing things to upgrade.

  19. Totally agree. My assessment of him from last spring was that he was Michael Lawrence with a little more "yards-after-catch" ability. So the best he could hope for as a football player on Sunday is to catch on with some team as a Cole Beasley type receiver. The chances of that aren't too good. His unflinching performance of a lifetime @ Arkansas, as well as his unflinching performance as a pass catcher tells me that this guy would be perfect for the firefighting profession. He has earned his place in North Texas Football history, and nothing that he could have done, hence forward, would have likely surpass it. So, congratulations on joining an honorable and well regarded public service profession.

  20. Maybe the NFL is just like the WWF. The NFL has struggled in the LA market for years and having a team in the super bowl will help with that market. The fix is in.

  27. Noticed a few things of interest on the roster: Taylor Robinson is listed as a DB and not a Safety. Are they moving him to corner? Tuulua Saafi seems to be bigger. Any chance he provides depth on the interior where TJ played? Novil is up to 285 lbs. Nixon III up to 228 lbs. Still hoping Brammer can add at least 20 more pounds. Parish is up to 276 lbs. Honestly, could use at least another ten. I hope Weatherspoon and English can stay healthy. Bean and Martin retained their red shirts. Their competition for #2, along with Aune, should be fun to watch. Really hope we utilize Smith and Chumley more at TE. I think Chumley could be a big factor receiving with his size. Pirtle listed as a WR and not TE. Anyone have any information on Deven Langston at WR? Was he Bean's #1 target? Love our WR depth. Nate Brown is still listed as our CB Coach. Did he decide to stay?

  33. He knows what he wants and he's going to go get it. He had one of the most memorable plays of the season and it proved that the dude is tough as nails. No doubt he will do well in the saving lives business.

  34. We will fine and so will he. And he is already the modern day Sears Woods to me. I was there.... and it was incredible. I'm more worried about replacing him as a punt catcher than as an inside receiver.

  40. They renovated less than 5 years ago. So it's probably just that. I'd settle for a set of new lights, and new court side advertisements in the Pit, and taking those ugly ass Wells Fargo logos off the court. But it seems like we're intent on getting a new facility in 10+ years over any incremental improvements.

  42. The answer to your question is a resounding yes. I understand you probably had an at least in passing relationship with RV. And that for whatever reason or another compels you to sort of run to his defense. But the OVERALL job RV did here fell nothing short of absolutely motherfu**ing horrible. And the fault doesn't lie directly at his feet...I mean his piss poor performance certainly does, but the true fault are the people or person that hired an absolute unqualified person to run a job he had no business running. Then keeping him there for almost 2 decades. Do you think it's a coincidence athletic success started almost the instant he was fired? From a perception alone standpoint, WB has done more for this athletic department in 2 years than RV did in 16. Just think about that. As for the timing, you're right. But that same timing donkey punched this University and Ath Department in the throat. Since 2000, collegeiate athletics exploded onto the map. And we were trapped with a guy on his gravy train driving us into the dark depths of irrelevance. And when his job started to be questioned, the excuses started flying into the wall like baby shit hoping anything would stick as legitimacy. He tricked people. People fell for his BS. No one fan or donor wanted to admit being swindled and pimped. So chances after chances after chances were given to him. The same people that he swindled still runs to his defense to this day and it's unfathomable in my eyes. I'm off my platform. But when people still blindly defend the lunacy that was, my bones cringe.

  43. So true. I'm our VFD has some old trucks. Amazed at how far out they have to go on calls. They routinely have to go to Oklahoma, or other counties for mutual aid, in addition to having to serve 918 square miles of Ochiltree County In regards to Brewer, good luck to him, but if its anything like the law enforcement hiring process, it can take 6 months or more to get hired, so why not continue with your education and playing until you get hired? Edit: seriously? I'd love to hear the justification for an eye roll.
