I agree that those are some important questions this off season, but my biggest burning question is... When will our offensive and defensive lines be the equal of the better G5 bowl teams?

Who replaces our First Team All-Conference kicker Hedlund? That could be the difference between 2-3 wins! Surprised Vito did not have this in his Top 5.

I'm not sure we will see this anytime soon. The reality of a scheme built on the spread offense will always make that emphasis on the OL a difficult path, not to mention that OL and DL are really the hardest areas to recruit these days from a competitive standpoint. Defensive line is harder to really know--it could, but the reality is that our focus on that side of the ball has been more at LB and the defensive backfield.

With his track speed, I was thinking that Bean to receiver could be a good option also. Probably not now, at least until the post-Mason QB pecking order is established. Not that he couldn't turn out to be a serious dual threat QB of course.

Side Show Joe summed it up just fine. If our QB isn't running for his life, and theirs is, we've got most of our games pretty much won.

Yes but it is concerning that all four of Fine’s backups (including Aune) will be freshmen. Both from an experience standpoint and, more importantly, once one of them is named the starter then the rest will all likely transfer because of how close they are in terms of grade classification.

I just hate it that we lost in that uniform. It's still a good look.

UConn is in a really interesting situation. The American does nothing to help their football team, and actually takes away from their ability to sustain a level of basketball success they expect to have. Also, nobody really cares about college football in the northeast. Dropping to FCS makes a lot of sense for them. The CAA is a really good football conference.

Traditionaly yes but UConn’s men’s team is a shell of its former self. It’s womens basketball is still going strong. I agree SMU won’t let North Texas in but they can only live off of their “prestige” for so long.

Nothing is certain in the league this year. UTSA shat the bed against MUTS last night. MUTS was 3-12 coming into the game. So we are tied for 2nd with Ballsack. I also watched FAU/Marshall last night. Both of those teams are going to very tough. I wouldn't be surprised if the league champ ended up with 5 to 6 conference losses.

This has more to do with OL play imo.

Mooney and Williams were both highly regarded coming in so I anticipate one of them stepping up.

Proud of him. I love the Nate Brooks story. Young man comes in, wins the starting job, loses the starting job to a JUCO transfer and instead of pouting and getting down on himself, he continued to work, was a good teammate and succeeded this year. And, I would assume he performed above many of our expectations. Nate, Kemon and E.J., go out and make the Mean Green Family proud and earn yourself a job on Sunday afternoons.
