  1. I think this forum is a good place to call out the National Anthem at the New Mexico bowl. If you weren't there, this may have been a top 3 highlight besides the TDs. The audio system was acting up as the army sergeant I think (apologies if that isn't correct) was singing. At some point the static and cut outs totally quit, leaving it up to the crowd to pick up the slack. It wasn't a bunch of mumbling, instead it seemed like everyone on both sides of the stadium all joined in and sang like a fine tuned choir. And instead of a bunch of complaining and quick remarks about the audio guy at the end, the whole place applauded each other for a job well done. It was my best star spangled banner experience, ever. Thanks.

  2. We are all very happy with our #1 recruiting class that is about to sign in a few days. In all my years of following the Mean Green I can't remember the last time North Texas had the best class in our conference. Littrell and his staff should be recognized for their hard work. It is yet another sign that UNT is improving. Having made that perfectly clear, it is my belief that our leadership must make signing the best possible offensive and defensive linemen their top recruiting priority. They are out there. Utah State found them. I don't care if they have to scour the entire country, and spend the bulk of their recruiting budget. We can find high quality skill players locally, but we have to place the best possible talent we can in the trenches, and we have not been able to do that locally. I believe without much better play from both of our lines, we will continue to struggle with good teams.

  3. These recruits on Twitter act like they just got on stage receiving a Grammy.

  4. Meh, good luck finding an up-and-coming coach who's not already at an Elite Power 5 program who isn't going to entertain the possibility of moving up the coaching ladder.

  5. If Littrell testing the waters was enough for him to decommit, he wouldn't have wasted an official visit here the next weekend. And his twitter feed would not look anything like it did just a few days ago. This is not on Littrell in the sense that he was shopping. This is a business decision by both Littrell & Johnson. And I highly doubt he'll sign with us anymore, because we wont have room for him after we pickup another commit elsewhere from a guy who wants to be here.

  6. I never thought I'd see the day when a kid decommits from my school in order to explore options at my wife's school (Syracuse). House divided now, if it wasn't before.

  7. It appears NT wanted him to sign tomorrow and he still wants to wait for that magic offer. That is his decision. I have watched the recruiting game too long to worry about any one player. He might turn out great or far from it. NT is deep right now at rb, so this is far from a critical signing. I also wonder if some of you bother to watch the games, few teams run the ball significantly more than at NT. Exception being those few that run a triple option attack like Army.

  8. Good luck to Mr. Johnson if he decides to leave. Think he’d be missing something pretty special, though. The journey to greatness can many times be more fun than the actual destination. AND.....Fact remains that Seth Littrell did not accept the KSU offer extended to him with conditions he would have had to accept. He turned down the damn jobs, folks. If he was so desperate to leave Denton & make couple more million a year he would have. Let’s not give him reasons to want to get the hell out of Dodge; that is, let's not burn our barn down to kill a mouse. ❇️ We've got a fancy new Indoor Athletic Facility that will have the largest weight room of any Texas Big 12 & SEC school. Other venues on the way! Remember when we didn't have all this happening up there? I do. GMG! Celebrate! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rO_R5puXs6E

  11. My final thought... I haven't seen a UNT team this poorly prepared for a game in a loooooong time... Coaching staff should be embarrassed - they did not represent our university well. After the 2 FAU debacles last year plus last year's bowl debacle, I thought they would have learned how to get a team prepared for a game like this year's bowl. I 100% support Littrell and Company for all of the great things we've seen over the last 3 years - but they really need to not let this happen again.

  14. We didn't come prepared like they did - plain and simple and the talent gash was too big to overcome it. https://www.barstoolsports.com/barstoolu/utah-state-spends-the-night-in-hot-tub-with-porn-star-richelle-ryan-win-bowl-game-next-day-by-39-points

  16. Forget him, go find another running back, we definitely need another one. Easley, will recover and probably start next fall; we need a big running back that has quickness and speed that's at least 200lbs. or more!

  17. Update: confirmed he wanted to wait.

  18. Very sad to see this. Not surprised at all. The same recruits who saw us on the come up and making some noise are the same recruits who saw Littrell have one foot out the door and the team get molly whomped on national TV. It sucks, but this what happens when you straddle the fence. I put this 100% on Littrell and I'm sure he will learn from it. We'll see... I still think he signs in the end, especially if we keep the remainder of the class. A lot of these guys have already developed friendships.

  19. Lol. Do you really think Dino Babers is "fully committed" to Syracuse? That is going to be his last coaching stop until he retires or Syracuse fires him? Do you really think North Texas is not "fully committed" to Seth Littrell?

  20. I didn't say it was an ultimatum and dont think it was. Just "we want you to sign tomorrow so we can wrap up this class and move on to 2020". UNT know what everybody else knows. That when A and M and the Missouri of the worlds top targets choose Texas Georgia and Bama they swoop in on the Garrison Johnson of the world. If you don't sign him tomorrow you don't sign him

  21. any time you lose your top recruit that has been committed since April and was your first commit is tough. My thought is UNT wanted him to sign tomorrow. People in his circle wanted him to wait. Said bigger fish would come in Feb.

  23. You know, it's not even losing that's the issue. It's the way we lose. We are completely outmatched in the trenches. Every. Single. Time. And is this program really headed in the right direction? Every QB we threw out their outside of Fine looked like a deer in headlights. That's terrifying, because realistically, without Fine, we're 6-6 at best. We may be in for a very rough year next year. Offense can only carry you so far, just ask Kingsbury

  27. His original waffling commitment was the anomaly of our class. The rest of whom seem to be pretty excited about signing.

  28. UCF is a gigantic school with a ton of resources. NT is a gigantic school (not as big as UCF), with not as many resources... yet. We're getting there. We just have to accelerate the process. The IPF will be huge. I don't know when the new B-ball arena is supposed to be built, but that will also help. And, of course, winning... Need to keep winning 9 games/yr (or more!) and continue building basketball success over the next 3-4 years, and it could happen!

  29. We did struggle. But I don't put it all on the RB. Just a little creativity in the play calling would've helped... And Torrey may not run over people but he made adjustments when there was no were to run. Look at his TD in the Bowl game. That was all him...

  30. Yep. Garrison must not have had much faith in Wren Baker.

  31. I doubt it as well, but that's the kind of ultimatum JayD was suggesting. Pressuring to sign tomorrow, but he wants to wait until February. If that were the case, and that kind of ultimatum was not issued, he'd still be committed... just signing in Feb. Right. And when he says "no coach, I'll wait and sign in February." Then what would be said in order for him to actually decommit? Some kind of ultimatum. And it doesn't have to be point-blank like "sign, or else...", it may even be a genuine one trying to help HIM out... "look, we want to wrap up this class, if you don't want to sign tomorrow and you're still looking for other opportunities, then it's best we part ways, and you actually officially open up your recruitment." Something along those lines. Still an ultimatum to sign tomorrow or part ways. That, or he already has schools coming at him on the dl.

  32. Still have Oscar Ardeway who is also highly rated. While this hurts mostly due to his size, I think we'll be ok.

  34. This hurts. Torrey exploded but he's such a small guy. Easly won't be ready till mid season at the earliest. Nic Smith has been mediocre. The others are not lead backs.

  44. You can beat better teams than you are. You just got to be mentally prepared and frickin want it more. The way NT gets its arse handed to it in championship games, something not clicking with the team overall in planning strategy or in the locker room.
