The fact Smart and Duffy didn’t score a single point makes me think this win is that much bigger. We need to play better, but I’m still confident heading into New Mexico.

Yes....saw him at the basketball game tonight. He comes to football and men's and women's basketball games.

Let's get the "North Texas" chant down first.

Really sluggish performance until the last 5 minutes or so. The good by-product out of this is that the comeback and close game whipped the Mean Green faithful into a frenzy down the stretch. Really good crowd that was into the game. Team started feeding off the energy. Reminded me of the semi finals and finals of the CBI. If the team keeps performing and the students start showing up in numbers after the holidays, the Super Pit is gonna be freaking awesome for conference play.

Sow is excited about wearing a SOW on his helmet.

George Derr is a very active, loyal Mean Green fan. I think of him as "Mr. Basketball" due to his knowledge of the game, and specifically his knowledge of UNT Basketball, past and current. A toast to George Derr! Dilly, dilly!

Took the family, we had a blast man! Very intense game. We will definitely go back. Different feel/Atmosphere from the football game, but fun in its own way. Only knock was the “North Texas Chant” not too many fans joined in. Im sure with McCasland, and the way the team is playing that will change. #GMG

I think the North Texas offense has a little more difficulty than usual getting on track, but USU finds a groove early. End of 1st: 14-3 USU. In the 2nd Mason comes alive, but USU keeps their pace. Halftime: 24-17 USU North Texas comes out of the locker room with the usual “adjustments? We don’t need no stinkin adjustments” mantra...but Hedlund kicks a few FG’s. End of 3rd: 34-23 In the 4th Torrey finally finds some room and Mason Fine ignores GH’s calls and audibles at the line for two TD’s. The defense digs in and holds them to 3 in the quarter. Final score: 44-37 North Texas

I know. You said this all throughout the Benford era telling us your basketball buddies thought UNT fans were ridiculous in their Benford criticisms and that we didn’t know what we were talking about. This is a widespread basketball movement that is seen at the NBA and college level. Having two traditional bigs is almost like starting a fullback in your base offense in football. Look at the Mavericks starting four, 6’7” Luka Doncic. Again, UTA was smaller than us. Height was not the problem.

Yahoo sports. i just typed in North Texas basketball into the search bar and it popped up. ESPN hasn’t had any stats for any game we have played other than Oklahoma until the game is complete.

I think anytime someone types Woolridge It is automatically implied it was ridiculous. Kid can ball and has a very high IQ. He should have a shot at playing in at least the D-league.

Draper is a streak shooter and I thought he would have taken more shots, especially on one he was open and passed the ball. I dont think he missed a shot? He did play a lot. When he is hitting he should keep shooting, he won the 3 point shooting competition at the MG madness event. He was amazing in that contest.

We are getting our rebounded and knocked around all over the place and Simmons, Arikawe, and Alcindor just sit on the bench for a good chunk of this.

Time to go bigger. Out rebounded by 10 and picking up fouls left and right. If we can’t hit the three then change it up and work it inside first and then out. We give up size at 4 of the 5 spots on the floor.

Woolridge goes down and it doesn’t look good. He can’t put weight on his ankle. 😞 Wdit: he is now on the bike behind the bench. Not sure if we see him again or not tonight.

Just watching them warmup UTA certainly looks a little longer and more athletic, but as we know that certainly doesn’t equal a win. I love our chances, but I am excited to see guys like Wise and Muhammad next year and size on the wing. My prediction UNT wins by 14 because UTA always plays us close and hasn’t played a relatively tough schedule. Interesting to see they don’t have a single senior on their roster and 5 Freshman.

Really an embarrassing performance tonight. Nothing to sugar coat. Good news is this team is capable of playing much better. Crazy to score 100 and 40 in back to back games both against D1 opponents.

Good thing they're tearing down Fouts. Gonna need more parking with McCasland on the sidelines!
