  1. I see from the down vote that we still have some KSU fans hanging round.

  2. I've never understood the dislike of GH here, he does a good job IMO. The offense has gotten better each year and continuity matters in college football. I'm happy (if) he is staying. GMG.

  3. My father is retiring and thanks to many people this was his retirement gift. Perfect timing with the announcement he is staying. This is so fresh! -best retirement gift ever!

  4. I was looking into prospective coaches when it looked like Seth was gone. When I was looking at candidates who are OCs, one thing rang true for all of them is that their fanbases complain like crazy about all of them on twitter. One in particular was Mike Yurcich, the OC at Oklahoma State. He has consistently had top 10 offenses, including the number 2 offense last year and fans online want to run him out of town. Same with us an Graham. Highly criticizeable position.

  5. Here is my take. Every year we are successful, no matter who the coach is, other coaches are going to get fired. And because we are in CUSA, and we pay 1.5 mil. or 1.8 mil, or 900k, there are going to be other jobs that pay more. So as long as we are winning it doesn't matter if it's Seth Litrell, or Joe fffing blow, at the end of the season this will be our plight. Some years it will go like this and blow over, other years we are all going to get our feelings hurt. It's what we all wanted. We had a great year. But reality is we are 9-3. We are 1-2 against teams with a winning record, and we lost to Old Dominion that turned around and lost to a 2-11 Rice team. (see what i did here, I legit blew holes in a 9-3 season, how quickly things turn) This was our year people. Can we learn from this and do better next year? Maybe, but we got a down Arkansas team and spit the bit in three games. Next year Cal on the road? Can we win that? Will our conference schedule be any easier? I don't think so. Next year will test the merit of this whole thing. In the meantime I am going to freaking New Mexico and supporting my favorite team in the whole world... See ya there bitches!!!!

  9. Lol, it seriously goes to the mindset of P5 schools when they believe any rumor to be true because a) it favors their school and b) their school is a "better" school than the one pitted against them. I get it, I guess. But, as the same time, these schools can screw off. I made a post earlier today in the SL Mega Thread, and I still stand by it. The nation is going to have to take notice of UNT, just like it has with UCF, Houston, et. al.

  14. Here’s something that gets lost in all the GH sucks conversation. Early in the year we could run at any point because Easley could move the chains on his own. 4th and 1 is a different story with a back that can run through people. And 1st and 10 that turns into 2nd and <6 is a lot different. Let’s face it, he ran behind the same line that got manhandled late in the season...he just made things happen.

  18. No we won’t. Dreamstyle isn’t anywhere close to being the 25th worst college stadium. Of course, if you read the author’s reasoning for placing it on this list is because the regular team that plays there is terrible. That has nothing to do with the stadium itself. Rick

  19. As much as I hate UTSA, they can go to the Riverwalk, take in a Spurs game, and not have to worry about bad weather games. San Antonio has a significant tourist industry that is important to area. KSU can hang out at...... do they have Buccee's up there now? I was stationed at Fort Riley so I was college aged with my own money. Manhattan wasn't worth the drive most weekends and I ended up dating online. lol

  20. This will never not be hilarious to me. With all the shit talking they came up here with, it fills my heart to see them crashing down to earth. If they weren’t in the Big12, they would be UTSA.

  24. Just want to point out the doom and gloom that's always espoused on this board. To recap: we've kept our coach, despite a) a random reddit post; b) a non-sourced NTDaily Reporter (we all know our feelings of the NTDaily) tweeting utter nonsense; c) countless K-state fans posting their glee such as "IT'S LITTRELL!!"; d) fights over who has a larger budget and why; e) further K-State fans calling themselves "sources" (@BenKohl on Twitter); and f) our own unfounded despair without a single thread of truth. Now that we've been pleasantly surprised and shown that UNT is a more desirable place for a coach than a P5 school, I want everyone to take a minute, and think about how they've reacted to this news. Take that second to say "did I jump to conclusions? Was my fear grounded in reality? Am I being swayed by pure speculation? We're f***ing UNT. We don't get pushed around anymore, and we don't play second fiddle. We're here to win some games, championships, and bowls. We're here to shock the world in all athletics (s/o MBB, VB, Tennis, Soccer, and WBB). Our BIG NAME school can play with the best of them, and our fans should expect nothing less. It's time we all started acting like we belong at the table instead of falling into default "woe is me" mode. All that said, folks, let's do this. Let's be that fan base. I know you can do it.

  29. His assistants are fine. The boss was considered for a P5 job and wouldn't take it without them. Loyalty is a two-way street and SL proved he is loyal to them. What more would you want?

  30. And in those 3 years, he was an outside receivers coach at Washington State. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/washington-state-hires-former-texas-tech-qb-graham-harrell/ Coach GH serves two roles: OC and QB coach. I believe most are happy with him as the QB coach as Mason has developed into a better quarterback each year. My guess is most are unhappy with his role as OC and the play calling. I never really understood the OC role under Coach GH when Coach SL could have performed those duties or hired someone with much more experience. The offense is really good, at times, but I happen to think it could be much more productive.

  31. I took a pic early this morning of 2 Weatherford RaceTrac female employees wearing Mean Green shirts I gave them weeks ago & on my Facebook photo caption put: “This is a Mean Green Friday!” Boyhowdy! ”Littrell” did we know just how good a Mean Green Friday this would turn out to be! 🤠 GMG!

  32. I think that Harrell is a great QB coach as evidenced by Fine’s growth. The problem is that unlike being a QB coach where he can directly use his playing experience, play calling takes time to develop. I think he has a lot of potential as a coach but I think the frustration stems from his play calling not developing as fast as many fans would like. The offense has been good but has left a lot of points on the board from suspect play calling at times.

  33. Have stayed out of the whole SL thing but when you have the best QB in the league and our skill players we should score forty. Easily. Call me crazy but I think the offense is way more Fine than Harrell. We'll see. Somehow I got what I wanted. SL to stay and GH to go. Merry early Christmas to me.

  34. There is a sense of satisfaction with what has been seen out there....some of the arrogant KState fans "it's a done deal" "he's coming" "I talked to a big donor and the deal is signed." "Sorry UNT...but he's coming...you understand, we're in the Big 12" Here's the deal KState fans.....it was said from the very beginning....it would take a SPECIAL job to lure Littrell away. That's why if Littrell did get into negotiations with your AD (assuming he did) and the deal fell through (assuming it did)...he could be demanding...why? It's called leverage. And when you currently have a fantastic situation, (already making big bucks, great administration, growing fan base, family loves the area) you have leverage. KState can't just walk in with a P5 shirt on and say "sign here." Not with Seth Littrell. So the lesson here Wildcats...and hear me: KState is a good job....it's not a special job. Now I'll wait to see you tell us how you didn't want Littrell anyway. As for the reasonable KState fans that came over here...good luck to you guys. I wish you the best.

  35. If I had to guess, the issue could have been more about control of the team/program than specific assistant coaches. If the school won’t let you bring you you want in, it could be a sign they will meddle in other areas and you won’t enjoy the freedom you want to mold the program in your image as Seth has done here. (Please note the above is null and void if you intend to bring in a high school staff.)

  37. I agree. It seems like Harrell and Littrell put together a good game plan but then Harrell sticks with it even after the defense adapts. I think he just needs to learn to better adapt and have confidence to deviate from the game plan.

  38. It's a difficult job to be had in this score points to win era, for sure. But the proof is in this bowl of pudding. We lose games because we fizzle out, offensively. We fizzle out so bad that we go three and out or 6 and out for entire 2nd halves and lose games because of it. SL and GH scheme up the first 15-20 plays like all good teams do. But then, sometimes, it's just like wtf are we doing. The fire in the offense isn't there and we seem to be content to settle. In this day and age of points, you put your foot on your preys throat and don't move it until winning is no longer in doubt. Go fast, don't apologize, and offer them a cigarette after you're done.
