  1. I've chosen not to post on the threads related to our coaching situation because I have no insight and can provide no new information on the matter but in reading much of what's been posted, it feels like where GMG.com represents "the voice of the fans" it can start to feel like Mean Green fans are quick to assume the worst, inclined to feel betrayed by the idea that an individual might consider options outside of Denton, and hasty in withdrawing support for individuals who have represented our University in a mighty way I think, however, there's a silent majority of Mean Green fans who have chosen to be patient, waiting for things to play out understand that it would be irresponsible for someone to choose not to consider all opportunities (refuse enough interviews and the requests will dry up) recognize that we've enjoyed one of the best 3 year stretches in school history and will never not appreciate the effort of those who contributed I hold out hope that things end with Littrell and his staff returning to bring us a CUSA title in 2019 and many more in following seasons, but should things not work out that way, I will unwaveringly stand behind our Mean Green and its leadership while also supporting those who have given much to the program and chosen to move on.

  2. While I appreciate you thinking I am a sports agent making the big bucks, I assure you I am a real-life, middle-class, working female. 😊 Yes, I realize I am probably the only female commenting here on this thread/on this site. A few things: I know more about football probably more than the average female, grew up with 2 football-playing brothers their whole lives, grew up going to UNT football games with my brothers and dad (both parents are Alumni; Dad was Scrappy for a year back in the day), am an Alumni myself (in the Todd Dodge days 😬), have been a season ticket holder since I graduated, still have connections in the Athletics department to keep up with the drama (though I could always come to this page), and I keep my mouth shut on things I don't know much about. I'm fairly knowledgeable with the football program and the history of the program. That being said, I know my place here and many will probably "Skeptical Eagle" on me because I'm a female and that's fine. But, I see no problem in adding to a post when I know something - hence my earlier post. Like many of you, I love MG Football and just like to stay up-to-date on the latest. Also - I am a new user to the site as of last month, which is why you've "never" seen me post. Sorry to burst your bubble. But, if you talk to Jimmy, feel free to tell him to send some of his millions my way. 💸

  3. I just wish the fan base would give up the mentality that we need Seth. We need a competent administration that is committed to investing in athletics and we have that now. The coach we hire after Seth will be a good coach because we have smart people making the decisions now, we have resources, and this is an extremely attractive job.

  4. My thoughts today. Seth is a very good coach and will be great whereever he goes. I think this is all a product of Jimmy Sexton’s doings. There needs to be some damage control ASAP. We have a bowl game in a little over a week( which he hasn't won and i feel would be high on his to do list) and signing day in 2 weeks( we currently have a top 60 in the country class and #1 in CUSA something he has came no where to doing in his tenure). We have a TON of talent returning and a TON of talent coming in. I am not asking Seth to be the next Gary Patterson. But I am asking him to Shit or get off the pot. This is not helping the team, recruits, staff, fan base or athletic department. Either commit to one more year or accept whatever job Fat Jimmy can get you an offer at( because it isn't K-State so far). North Texas is not the same North Texas it was 20 years ago. This is one of the top 10 G5 programs in the country ( with one of the best administration in the country) and would be a hot opening if it came opened and we don't have to be drug around like a side chick/ back up plan. ACCOMPLISH THE MISSION

  5. You aren’t going to make anyone a top 10 paid coach. Your 45th In budget, and about same area for attendance rank in D1. If you could pay someone top 10 money, why wouldn’t you just go get a top 10 coach right now instead of taking a chance on an up and comer? Your friends at KU went and got themselves an SEC coach with a National Championship ring. Been to 2 Natty games and built a winner from scratch at P5 level at Ok St. But you are going to go take a chance on a guy who has never been a P5 level head coach when you are capable of paying someone top 10 money?

  6. I am not a premium member on any KSU sports board but from reading the thread headings on one of them I gather that there must be some Wildcat fans trolling this board and I want to make it clear that these fools do not represent all KSU fans. Not by a long shot. If this is happening I want to apologize and tell you that every Wildcat fan I personally know would be deeply ashamed to be associated with such behavior. I know legendary living hall of fame head coach Bill Snyder would be very disturbed to know this was being done by fans who would have absolutely nothing to cheer about if it hadn't been for him coming to KSU in 1989 and building the losingest program in college football into a respectable one no one could ever take for granted while he was coach. It will be very hard if not impossible to find anyone able to fill his shoes. However things work out, I want to wish you fans of the University of North Texas all the best going forward. And sorry again for those internet flamers who claim to be KSU fans who are causing any grief here. I reject them and their atrocious behavior, and I know Bill Snyder rejects them too, Go Mean Green!

  7. Congratulations guys for a great achievement! Football is a team sport that requires talent at all positions and this accomplishment exhibits that. Job well done!

  8. North Texas is just not used to having coaches that are good enough to be hired away. That's ok. Just know it's not personal, and there shouldn't be any "bad taste" I won't be upset if Littrell says yes to $2-3 million at a P5 program, no matter where and you shouldn't either. It means we can attract some good folks.

  9. Let's read into the GH tweet... Full disclosure, I'm a GH supporter, but that's neither here nor there.... Right as this news seems to leak... "one more time with this FAMILY".... is the Family thing a shot at KSt? A tribute to his future employer? Is it referring to one more time this season, or at UNT?? IT'S AN ENIGMA WRAPPED IN A RIDDLE

  11. Yeah, Kstate struggles from Small Man Syndrome or simply known as SMS. They see this as an opportunity to flex and given these are rarified for them they're seemingly taking full advantage.

  12. Jesus Christ, if he is going can Seth please leave immediately? Nothing against SL, I just really want the K-State, second tier Big XII, trash off of our board. I’ve never seen Robin show up and pound his chest so much while knowing full well he’s not Batman.

  13. I would like to hear when Fat Jim initially reached out to SL about this opening. Because you know Blimpy has in roads to know that Kstate was pushing Snyder out after the season. My bet it was Week 7/8. Something fundamentally wrong hit this team like a train around that time frame. It was almost palpable, and it came out of nowhere.

  15. I thought Lambaeu had a pretty objective look at Seth Littrell. You disagree with his take? I thought it was right on 1. Seth Littrell got us out of a disaster and turned the program around 2. Seth Littrell didn’t win a conf championship, bowl game or any games with something on the line both can be true at the same time.

  16. I appreciate the improvement Coach SL has made to the football program at UNT. The program is better now than when he started. Coach SL is a good, young coach. With all the money that K-State has because of their affiliation in the Big XII, why aren't they trying to hire a GREAT coach, one with a solid winning record, one who has won conference championships, and one who has won bowl games? The truth may be that they simply cannot attract a great coach. SL is good, not great. There are a large number of issues that cannot be ignored: 1. the implosion of the team after halftime with double-digit leads in a few games, 2. the perceived inability to make adjustments at halftime, 3. the team's level of play (i.e., "playing down to") against inferior opponents, 4. erratic or inconsistent play-calling at times by the Offensive Coordinator without any intervention by Coach SL, 5. allowing Mason Fine to play hurt when it is obvious to everyone that he is not even close to being 100%, 6. the refusal to allow the backups (e.g., quarterback) to play when games are out-of-reach. Please go back and read almost any football game thread and review the comments posters have made about this coaching staff and you see the same consistent comments. To me, if K-State eventually hires Coach SL, then they have settled for being good, not great. There are other great coaches out there who would do a better job with the financial resources they have available. I do not understand why Coach SL would want to take the K-State position other than the money. Once you put aside the significant pay raise for the short-term, what are the advantages? There are few. In fact, the disadvantages are far more significant than any advantages: 1. why follow a legend in Coach Snyder? 2. why accept the position when it appears Coach Snyder is going to maintain a presence as an "ambassador" to the athletic program and university? 3. why accept a position when Coach Snyder's son may likely remain on the staff and his promotion to head coach has been advocated for by Coach Snyder? 4. Do you honestly believe K-State is going to beat Texas and Oklahoma year after year after year (Coach SL is no Coach Herman or Coach Riley at this point) and have they ever had long-term success against Texas and Oklahoma under Coach Snyder (almost any season you are basically starting with two L's on the schedule)? Summation: If your dream job is to one day be the coach at OU, then the path to Norman is not through Manhattan, KS. This entire situation is just bizarre to me. I do not understand what K-State is trying to accomplish with the potential hiring of Coach SL nor do I understand the decision-making process by Coach SL if he accepted the position. For both, this is a path to nowhere, in my humble opinion.

  18. I’d like to clear up K-State’s financial picture real quick. We have seperated our Athletic Department from the University. They are one of less than a handful of schools that don’t receive money from the University, infact give money to the University, and the employees of KSA are not State employees. We have been ending the year with a $5-19 million overage since 2012. In the latest available 990 (2016) we have $78millon in our reserves which were built up knowing we would have to come large when Snyder retired. NONE OF THIS IS DONOR MONEY. It is all from our football tier 1,2&3 rights. So if you think we can’t afford Littrell, I’m sorry to disappoint. We have positioned ourselves to be able to swing for the fences for a new coach...twice. We saw what happened down the road at KU and we’re not going to let that happen here.

  21. Try to put yourselves in Littrell's shoes. All of us here have an affinity for our Alma Mater. This is not shared by Littrell. (That's not to say he doesn't love it here, I'm sure he does.) NT is simply his employer. He's built a bond with his players though, and I know that's what is keeping him here now. But the love for our Alma Mater must be removed from this equation to try and understand what he's thinking. Instead, imagine an opportunity to move up to P5 falls in your lap. Wouldn't you be interested & kick the tires? Now imagine that opportunity turns into an interview, and things get serious. What would you do? Is it any different than what Littrell appears to be doing now? Now, if KSSt is dicking around, and you see the guys in your locker-room starting to suffer, that may have an effect on you (I know it would for me), but you have to persevere & see if this opportunity can become a reality. Push a quick decision (for your Mean Green locker-room's sake), but don't do so in a way that would be offputting, or remove you from consideration. Don't lie to anyone... which usually just means be quiet. But no need to tell the whole truth to everyone, especially fans, if they're not in the need-to-know category.

  23. I’m not butthurt. I’m very happy he turned around this disaster. But that was a LOOOOOOOOW bar. Still.....all credit to him for getting is out of that mess but the fact remains by any standard outside of “we’re better than we were when we got beat by Portland St” he did not accomplish what he told us he was going to accomplish. No bowl wins, no championships....he didn’t win 1 game with anything on the the line. Those are just facts. I don’t think anyone is saying he did a bad job, he didn’t. But let’s not make him Scott Frost, Tom Herman or PJ Fleck. He’s not. I think there are a BUNCH of coaches that could have improved this situation from the depths of hell it was in I’m not hurt he’s leaving. Im a little disappointed that he seems like any other mercinary coach stepping his way up the ladder and telling us what a family guy he is and how he loves it here and all that crap. He won’t even see his seniors play. but that’s my fault. I should know they’re all that way. I’m excited to see who we get next. I’m just tired of this sitting around. Get on with it already.

  25. I don't understand why so many of you guys are pooing on Littrell. Let's assume that N. Texas was in the same shape in 2011 when McCarney took over at Litrell in 2016McCarney:2011: 5-72012: 4-82013: 9-42014: 4-82015: 0-5 (fired)Littrell:2016: 5-82017: 9-52018: 9-3It would seem that McCarney's one good season was more of an outlier, an aberration, than anything. Littrell's worst season, 2016, his 1st year, was better than McCarney's 2nd best season, in 2011.When considering Littrell, it really goes beyond his coaching record at North Texas. It's important to also note how good he was as an OC, that gave him the opportunity to be the head man at N. Texas.Under his watch as OC, he turned 3 mediocre p5 programs into top 30 offenses. He did it at Arizona, Indiana and North Carolina. It's very impressive what he was able to accomplish at 3 different geographic locations, 3 different conferences, and 3 different sets of players. He looked at what was in the cupboard and made it work at ARIZONA, INDIANA, AND NORTH CAROLINA. 3 Basketball schools! Also, add in the fact that his major connections are in Texas and Oklahoma, and he SCREAMS Big 12 kinda guy, it's a no brainer.I've seen people say, "well, I want to see him do it longer" or something like that. Well boys, if you want more proof, he'd be knocking on the door at Ohio State or Oklahoma, and not KSU. As much as he has achieved, this is a no-brainer hire.

  26. Guys, If this is a bit you’re doing regarding saying Seth sucks so you can playfully pretend it will make KState leave him alone, please know that people (recruits, etc) read stuff literally. If you’re serious about these things though you need to wake up and realize what this man has done. He has built a winning culture and recruited to a place that was barren and won with kids nobody wanted. 4th and 1 be damned...I’m pissed about our 3 losses too...but look at this body of work and we couldn’t have dreamed of something better. Running the dude down, playfully or not, is bullshit.

  27. I'm not surprised SL is leaving, I’m more surprised in Kansas St. going all in on him. I would have thought he would have needed a better resume. I’m not saying anything new...only time will tell If this is a good hire or not.

  38. For years we talked here about wanting to be the next UH. A springboard for the great up and coming coaches. When we hired Littrel it showed the AD finally understood what was needed at North Texas. A young, energetic, upwardly mobile coach that will use us to build his resume and we will use him to elevate our program. What we are feeling now was inevitable but also fortunate, in that it means we have had success. The majority of my disappointment comes from the fact that our coaching search will be late and we never landed the best recruiting class in a long long time. I would not be shocked at all if Graham Harrell is announced as the next head coach. Yes we all have our reservations about GH being the next head coach. But, if it means keeping the recruiting class together and possibly our staff then he deserves a very strong look.

  39. At some point it is just plain bad for SL, either he gets job and fans are done and ready to move on, or he does not get job and his reputation with fans is bad because he has been sniffing P5 skirts the past 2 wears while talking family, family, family.

  40. Everyone is freaking out over no news. Seth was in New York for a Coaching Conference. He may or may not have interviewed for a Job. This was scheduled well before we knew we be preparing for a bowl game in 13 days. It may become a bigger issue if he not back at practice today. There is no communication to have until he either announces he signed a new contract with North Texas, or he has signed to be the next coach at Kansas State or any other school with an opening. reporters are trying to create stories that get us to click on their links. I believe in Coach Littrell and until he is not our coach, and that point I sure Wren Baker will bring in someone as good or better. Relax, speak positive all the recruits are reading this and may decide to go else where off our arguing about nothing. Wait for the facts to come out. Go Mean Green!!!
