  1. ..........we will be 10-2 at the end of the year with our two losses to a 10-2 UAB team and a 9-3 LaTech. UAB will have lost @ A&M along with a bad early season loss. Meanwhile, LaTech's losses will be @ LSU, @ Miss. St. and vs. UAB. Yes, the two losses are tough to swallow, especially given we that we got off to great starts in both games. But at the end of the day, both of our losses are against quality opponents. And the better news? Next year will be even better with Fine entering his senior season. I anticipate a huge amount of media buzz before the start of the season next year given Fine's stat line this season. We have solid, competitive matchups in 2019 with games @ SMU, @ Cal, and U of H at home. We have begged for years to relevant at the state and national levels. That time is now upon us.

  3. I teach middle school and coach both high school and middle school athletics. I have kids at both levels talking to me about UNT football and excited to tell me that they got to go to a UNT game. This season has gotten the youth talking about the Mean Green, so if we build on our success and continue to play at a high level, this can only help grow our brand as the kids get older.

  4. I agree with the statement. With 14 schools in C-USA, there are no larger conferences in FBS. I did the math. 🤣

  5. I mean we've know about this game since early Summer. Its if you get invited to a family function you feel obligated to go to, you make plans in advance and coordinate with work or other potential obstacles. I asked my boss if I could come in a tad bit later on Friday and he understood when I asked him 2 months ago. (Not all of us have this luxury, but I know there is a good chunk that do.) If the game started at 6:30, we would see excuses like traffic or if work runs late.would prevent getting to the game. .Just like on excuses on holiday weekends.. It's to close to Thanksgiving, the OU/UT game, The world series, etc, etc. Let's be that exception and support our team through crappy game times..

  6. I think he's mostly been reading alcohol infused talking points from angry fans late Saturday nights after losses. That's about the only substance I see in this article.

  7. I'm sure that the article will keep Seth up at night worrying about how the Daily perceives his career path.

  10. If you cannot understand the difference between UNT, being it's own system with the University in Denton as the flagship, VS UT-A, a satellite/peon school of the UT system... I'm sorry, we cannot help you. As for basketball, I think you know full well what's about to happen. What is it with the UT system schools wanting to have "rivalries" with NT? I don't understand. There are so many other UT system satellite/peons you could have actual "rivalries" with instead.

  11. Thanks for the open-minded comment, @SteaminWillieBeamin. As for the rest of you, it's fun to see the responses to "the story we hear every year," as if your comments were not as repetitive as the repetitious story. "Not enough interest." "Not enough money." "Commuter school." "Can't compete for the DFW dollars." I'm not sure what was the point of the references to UTSA, UTEP and the other UT's. Just like UNT, UT Arlington is stuck in a governmental amalgamation that exerts control over our school in return for a fraction of the funding. I mean, I'm not feeling the love, and have to assume we would have a really good, bitter, nasty rivalry with UNT in football, just as we almost have had in basketball. (Maybe your basketball team can finally beat us this year, and after that, maybe we can call it a rivalry. Oh wait. Maybe we should cancel the game, like UNT did a few years ago when we were favored.)

  12. If you closely you can see one of ex-fan in his tcu t-shirt on the 30-yard line......I guess in DFW you have to win or nobody goes to your games.

  13. Property taxes are what they are. You could live in CA where every tax has a regulation and every regulation has another tax or regulation. Plus a state sales tax.

  25. That's what he wants you to think! Are we in this to win, place or show? I think their plan is to ramp up their voting and overtake Mason by Sunday Noon, when the first round ends. If we don't offset some of their surge, they will accomplish their mission. At this point, we are probably safe for inclusion in Round 2...but let's get there and be the winner of Round 1. JMHO.

  26. Just a little clarification ... Bucees will still be paying all of their property taxes owed. The tax abatement was for sales taxes. Read about it here.

  31. We've been spoiled really the last three years with really good NT Daily writers. In fact, they've all gotten jobs at reputable places. The writers this year are terrible. Terrible in style, creativity and writing facts. It's drastic how far it fell off the cliff. The past two seasons, some of the best stuff I read on UNT sports was from the Daily. This year, I find myself scratching my head at every article.

  32. Very short article with zero to no substance. A better writer could have formulated a much better critique of Seth Littrell.

  33. No one in my group is excited about this game day or time. Unless you are retired or a kid this is not good day or time for either. If the stars had aligned and this was some kind of game for the conference lead, then it would have been more anticipated but as it is now, the day and time are annoying.

  35. We love Bucees! Don't have one in Corpus, but we stop at Buccees every time we travel to Houston. We saw the Bucees in Denton when we traveled for the Southern Miss game; that Denton location is massive!! Holy schnikees!! Can't wait to visit it when we are back up for a another football game next season.

  39. This is a fun season. Games are games because they can be lost. Otherwise it is just routine. Last year all the close games went to us. This year the close games don't. It is how the cookie crumbles. It is why we love this game. Anyhow... Next year, the season will not be a cupcake like this CUSA season. Our SoS is just absurd. It was a best shot. We hopefully pull out 10-2 and then win a bowl game. It will in retrospect be an awesome season. People won't care about who we lost to, they will still talk about how good of a team we are. I still get it at the office... which surprises me. I like your optimistic post. Thanks.

  40. If we have three 9+ win teams in conference, that would be pretty sweet.

  41. I want to give some highlight on a strong position group. Rico- One of the best in the nation at this position. (Future Draft pick) Guyton- Arguably one of the deadliest deep threats in CFB. (Future Draft pick) Darden- Dynamic, elusive, and quick. Lawrence- Great possession receiver... The #2’s have come in and produced during pivotal possessions. Keep up the great work.

  43. Voted! FIVE DAYS and two hours left in the first round. Mason Fine is Numero Uno, 18,547 (50%); Uncle Miltie is Second, 7,934 (22%); and OU Dude is Turd (but closing fast), 7,629 (21%). OU posted 2,321 votes since yesterday, a net gain of 1,912 on us. Am I the only one who smelled this ambush coming? FFR and others are going to need some help over the next five days...

  46. Again, you're making a huge leap that we get in with any B12 leftovers. I haven't even heard a reason why the B12 breaks up. UT and OU aren't going to the PAC12, their shine is way off. Then there's the assumption that realignment works out for us, who says it does? Realignment rarely makes sense so anything is possible but besides this message board I've never seen any talk that this might happen.

  47. Only NT and Cincinnati are not ranked of these teams, and Cincinnati was earlier in the year and receiving votes.

  48. An El Paso bowl game would be atrocious as opposed to Dallas or Shreveport. I firmly believe location matters, as I think location matters in regular season play. I get what you're saying, but we need to beat up on our opponents in front of a crowd of 40k in our own neck of the woods to get this fanbase to wake up for this program's mission.
