Memo to Wren: If you want to maximize attendance, don’t schedule afternoon games. Yes, I wish we had great crowds regardless of start time, but history has shown time and time again our best crowds are at night.8 points

We saw a couple of Fine for Heisman tshirts at the game yesterday. Does anyone know where I can buy one of those?5 points

It's one thing to struggle against the better teams in the conference but getting Mason killed against Rice!? Their sack leader has 2 on the season and Mason was hit every pass play. IT IS THE PROBLEM!4 points

Can we consolidate for the rest of the year? The way we are playing I just want a bowl win vs anyone!4 points

I wanted to share my experience this weekend. Rather than making the ~hour drive each way from Allen to Apogee, I camped out this weekend at Lake Ray Roberts State Park (Johnson Branch). Nice facilities and just a short drive north from Denton. For others that might consider coming in town for games on a budget, this is a great fun option. After the game, we hit Babe’s chicken Dinner House in Sanger on the way back to camp. It was nice to see all the Mean Green fans there. We even ran into Quinn Shanbour at Babe’s. Great weekend!4 points

Likelihood of it actually happening is low, but if it gets is publicity next year, I say go for it. At least early in the 2019 it could get us a short College Gameday segment like Ed Oliver got UofH earlier this year. Mason has an interesting story, he could get national publicity even if he never is allowed to win.4 points

Do you think having the bye week coming so late in the year may have played a small part in the teams performance since week 4? They haven't looked like the same team since. I could be totally off, but a small part of me thinks a break after game 5 or 6 would have been beneficial to the team. Your thoughts?3 points

Game story: UNT coach Seth Littrell has warned his team tough times are inevitable. UNT handled one of those situations in win over Rice https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/football-rice-gives-unt-wake-up-call-before-mean-green/article_7c4fbef3-ebf1-5c0d-a6bc-52bf4a6489b4.html Torrey comes through with huge performance when UNT was shorthanded in game against Rice https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/torrey-comes-through-with-fellow-rbs-down/article_e7f26d8c-ee03-599a-a438-34f8631a4696.html Notebook: UNT finds answers defensively after giving up early touchdown https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/notebook-unt-defense-answers-early-attack/article_daf134a2-cb3a-5910-bb60-6515c9ccfa5e.html Five thoughts: UNT won a game it needed to at a time its worn down https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/thoughts-on-unt-s-win-over-rice/article_4bf3a826-3ff9-5376-a8af-decf8a432851.html3 points

If you can't get students to the stadium in the afternoon don't plan on young alumni making up the difference. When my kids were young there were always football, soccer, baseball, etc....that they participated in on Sat. Late games work better all the way around...surely students will attend the Thursday NIGHT game with FAU. Have a feeling those with school age children won't be able to attend again.3 points

In my opinion. He is the best at promoting UNT and our football program on social media. I love that he predicted a perfect season and stays so involved. He seems to be willing to do whatever is asked of him to sell Mean Green football. I hope more former players follow his example.3 points

Could we have played a cleaner game? Absolutely. Another win for North Texas? I'll take it! Congrats to the team. Let's keep the momentum going.3 points

Did not read through all 8 pages, but wow. The guy is doing great. Yeah we've lost some games we probably shouldn't have, but to suggest its purely Littrell's fault and that he's hit his ceiling in year 3 is so..... off. Keep it up Coaches and Wren Baker. Y'all are really assembling something to be proud of.3 points

DRC: Message left at the DRC's office today shows the care he has taken to interact with young fans, set an example while putting team first https://www.dentonrc.com/sports/brett-vito-hey-mason-have-a-message-to-pass-along/article_d19f414d-bd4e-593e-a730-eabc38c88682.html2 points

Carlos Ortiz is currently on the last round of the Sanderson Farms open. He started the day at tied for 19th. He is -6 for the day, -13 overall after 12 and up to 4th right now. If he can stay there, that should be a pretty nice payday and some nice FedEx cup points. Sebastian Munoz also made the cut, but alas is only 64th right now. Should also be on the golf channel starting 2:30 Coverage has started and Carlos is not up to tied for 3rd. I particularly love how they have the university logos behind the players names when they show the leader board on tv.2 points

Damn! I count 4 NT OL and 2 Rice linemen on Fine. Come on OL. Protect Mason or get off the f..king field!! Do your job!2 points

Not going to lie I would’ve high lowed the guy very next play. Deal with the coaches on Sunday.2 points

I see why some have a problem with it because they think it’s so improbable. I see it a different way, a campaign like this could be a way we can show our appreciation for what he has done so far. GMG2 points

That's what seems to bug me, we don't seem to have a mean streak on the o-line.2 points

This is the kind of crap that one of our OL needs to retaliate against. Earhole the opponent that does this or something to let them know this won't be tolerated needs to be done.2 points

Fine came up just 17 yards shy of breaking Mitch Maher’s record for career passing yards. He now stands at 8,503 career passing yards, with Maher’s record at 8,519. Looks like Fine will get that record on the road in two weeks at ODU. Once Fine breaks the record the stat watch will start becoming about where he can end up on the NCAA all-time leaderboard. It’s conceivable that he could crack the top 10 in NCAA history. Also, for the season Fine is coincidentally just 18 yards away from passing Derek Thompson’s 2013 season for 3rd in single-season passing yards in school history. He’s also 225 from passing Maher’s 1994 season to move into 2nd place behind the record Fine set last year.2 points

Being a Steelers fan, I want them to take a look at Ejiya. He could play opposite of TJ Watt because Bud Dupree is not the pass rush specialist they thought he would be. He is constantly getting himself push up field past the QB. EJ has the knack for bending underneath those linemen and taking a better angle to the QB. He may not get there each time, but he sure forces them to throw early. I can see it now. EJ and TJ. That has a great ring to it. Sort of like a Superbowl ring.2 points

I think so. LaTech and UAB both had breaks somewhere along the line before playing us. You can allow guys to recover when you get that break. We will see how they play against ODU coming off the bye week. I expect to see them firing on all cylinders again after the first quarter against ODU. I think they will come out a little slow after having the bye week, but will get it going in the second and will cruise to the win.2 points

That one though that was called was so blatant it made me sick.. MF let the ball go and the DB traveled 3-5 more yards and dove at Mason’s right knee. That was a clear attempt to injure him. I would have lost it as a coach on the sidelines right then and there. Rick2 points

No worries, but now I am more confused. Your name is Danish43. I pictured a blonde haired, blue eyed, fair skinned version of Patrick Cobbs and now you tell me Spanish is your first language. Ha ha.2 points

Looks like we're getting back to form. 7-2. Still see videos on ESPN about the punt return for a touchdown at Arkansas. Last week ESPN had an article about which teams were still in contention for the playoffs...mentioned in the article that the Mean Green were eliminated in week eight...when was the last time North Texas was ever considered for anything like a New Year's Six possibility or the CFP? Great time to be a Mean Green fan. Great win on Homecoming. 7-2. Let's keep this momentum going... GMG1 point

And to think what fine could have done with a top notch offensive line. Gosh, we have to get some stellar lineman in the program.1 point

I agree. Easly would have enabled us to protect the leads and wear Tech and UAB down in the second half of each game. Patrick Cobbs was able to do the same during his time with the Mean Green.1 point
