Was at Apogee today to pay for tickets and saw the endzones. The pics we've seen didn't have infill because they were just starting to put it in so that will dull it sum as will wear and tear over time. The rest of the field has already lost some of it's "crispness." When I read/saw pics of the design of I loved the idea of kelly green endzones. But I admit the contrast today was stronger than I thought and will take some getting used to. That being said I still think it was the right call. If our name wasn't Mean Green and we just had green as a primary color, I'd feel different. But when your name is "Mean Green" I feel like you got to own it and brand the hell out of it. Neon lights, obnoxious endzones, lighting towers, etc. Just one man's opinion.

If I had any say in the matter, Mason Fine gets into the UNT HOF on that drive and that drive alone.

In anticipation of SMU's arrival in Denton, likely with certain alumni in tow, the UNT athletic department has been placing convenient and easy to follow signs around town.

1. I wonder if they have the pellets in yet? That would darken it a bit. 2. I think it will look better in person but still not great. 3. My first thought was I would not like the entire field that shade of green. After a few minutes thinking about it, I think it might actually look better if it was. The field would certainly look "cleaner" with a brighter green color. However, I think our uniforms will look much better against he darker green.

Anyone else think that SL will stick around for Mason Fine's SR year and then leave for a big school? Kind of like a finish what I started thing.......This has been in the back of my mind and I feel like this could fit SL personality. Just a thought

Neal Brown...former offensive coordinator at Texas Tech and is 1-0 against Seth Littrell. You can also add a signature win against LSU in there as well. How is he not the front runner in this case? Sounds like DMN is trolling the North Texas fan base again.

With the amount of money we're giving Littrell, if he were to leave, I'm fairly certain if we kept that same kind of salary up for a new guy, we could have the pick of just about any P5 coordinator.

What happens when a failed regime is booted? You go after someone EXTREMELY similar (former Leach guy, former same-system QB/WR) correct? No, in most cases, people knee-jerk & go a different direction. A defensive guy. A balanced attack instead of spread. etc... Kingsbury is way too close to Littrell in terms of who they are as coaches. And Kingsbury/Harrell... virtually the same dude. Something tells me the boosters would not go for it. I would honestly be MUCH MORE concerned about Kansas than I am about Tech. That is, unless Littrell just blows the lid off of this season & if that's the case, he'll have more than just Tech wanting him.

They have lots of great talent, lots of questionable characters, and a coach with a mix of offensive genius, a lack of ethics, and a name to gain national attention at the G5 level. That is a good idea to set up a Seth is Leaving thread. I am sick of North Texas fans already giving up and believing that Seth will leave at the end of the season. Just maybe Seth likes coaching the Mean Green, and maybe his family likes living in Denton. This place can be a monster, as per Seth!

Agreed. This is why I can’t understand the dissenters faction related to Seth’s new salary. It’s as much for Littrell as it is announcing to the football community at large that UNT is serious as a program. We comp $1.2 - $1.6 for a head coach at our level and you’re going to consistently have an amazing candidate pool.

I think TX Tech would be better served to go after Sonny Dykes. Son of the great Spike, grew up out there, been successful away from the cotton fields, etc... The DMN article is just to throw shade at UNT and get you all up in arms since the DMN loves all things smuT. Sonny Dykes makes more sense, and he is an alumni of TT.

As long as we keep Wren and Smastrek I am confident that we will not have that big a let down, should Seth leave.

I feel a little bit better about this, given SL's new salary and buyout clause. KK makes 3.5 mil. Littrell is making about 1.4, with a large buyout. It could happen. But, I am not sure Tech will be willing to make that move if they have other options. Hopefully Tech will have a good year and KK will stay anyway.

He was very lucky to inherit Courtland and a bunch of other receivers that were initially Run n Shoot recruits otherwise the running game would not have worked and a lot of his success would have been stunted if they couldn't pass the ball around. I hope Arkansas has a worse 3 season record than SMU did under his regime 😄

Side note: With the rubber pellets in place on the rest of the field, look at how hard it is to make out the shape of Texas. I hope it isn’t like a bad tattoo where you can’t tell if it’s supposed to be something vs. a weird birthmark.

Honestly, if someone buys out Seth's contract (no matter how big it is), that means UNT has had a hell of a run. I'll take it! Also, with the hires Wren has shown he's committed to making, I trust that the next head coach will be a good fit and continue the momentum. Worrying about the size of the buyout is a relatively minor concern to me. Let's win some games, raise some money, and sell some tickets! Everything else will take care of itself in due time.
