Just in case there's someone out there who suddenly became interested in following the Mean Green....and didn't know. Rick7 points

Just so that I’m fully caught up after learning this little tidbit... Was North Texas Mason Fine’s only D1 offer...and does he have a chip on his shoulder? Was North Texas 1-11 the year before Littrell arrived?5 points

Think your leaving Denton today with a road win? "You've Got Another Thing Comin'!" Rick4 points

I came across this article while nosing around on PonyFans. (I'll go to the clinic for a shot on Monday.) If you weren't already aware, it looks like in addition to the home opener being carried by Stadium on Facebook, the game will be carried locally on KTXD channel 47. Unfortunately this makes it even easier for lazy SMUt "fans" to stay in there homes like they normally do for games that are either 1) at home or 2) away. https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/smumustangs/2018/06/07/kickoff-time-smu-unt-season-opener-announced #beatSMU3 points

That stadium in Frisco only holds 20,500. You said yourself that we had 30k at HOD.3 points

If we ever end up in Frisco, it would have to be the only option out there. Stadium is way to small to handle a bowl game with our fan base.3 points

I"m glad you asked. Mr. Sanbour threw a beautiful corner fade to White (#14 on your program) to give Mr. White two TD passes caught in the corner. AND, while I was discussing with another NT fan whom I had just met, that when I first noticed QS in practice, I didn't know that in addition to his throwing skills,, he was also fast. Almost on cue, Mr. Shanbour proceeded to take off on a 50yrd + touchdown run......with no one within 10 yards of him when he crossed the goal. The aforementioned fan turned around and said "you know, in the 30+ years that I've been a fan of NT, I've never seen us so deep at the QB position". I had to agree.3 points

Would love to go to Heart of Dallas again for the obvious reasons; dfw recruiting, attendance, costs, home field advantage, usually better teams, and etc. (Not a fan of the NM Bowl or New Orleans Bowl)3 points

Hmmm, I could live with it. Though I like this one better... https://www.google.com/amp/s/thebiglead.com/2018/08/10/2018-college-football-bowl-predictions/amp/ And this one even better than that... https://www.google.com/amp/s/athlonsports.com/college-football-bowl-projections-2018%3famp3 points

Oh! Brings on a flashback. I peeked at one once...it was sorta like THIS:2 points

I absolutely did. I would rather us sell out a smaller, nicer venue and have our fans fighting for tickets as opposed to 70k pathetically empty seats. One we look pathetic and the other we don't. In Frisco, UNT could also throw parties around town for people who couldn't get tickets. Big TVs at party tents arond the stadium or something. And it's not like we aren't partnered with the Star or the city of Frisco where we are building a new campus. And we still haven't sold out anything out either. I'm sick of looking like Thursday Night MAC games during bowl season. Heck, if I were SMU I'd try and get the HOD moved to my campus. We would take that stadium over easily as usual. Plus, I'd love to win a bowl there.2 points

But did you know Todd Dodge finished his tenure here with the worst D1 record in history? cant believe a crack reporter like Ditto Vito could leave something like that out!2 points

Another excellent and informative show Gentlemen! This season is on us and before you know it we'll be heading to Apogee.2 points

If you have read carefully you would note that this is the last secure year of it existing, and all the talk as of late is for the 2019 season and beyond.2 points

We never sell out anything. Not even close. It would be awesome and have really great optics to have a stadium sell out full of green. Our other options are playing in empty stadiums like the last 3 bowl games. Just like almost every other G5. One looks great and one looks sad. I get we've had 30k+ at the HOD but its pathetically empty when you look around. For recruits, that matters. In the end l'm really happy we are playing in bowl games at all...2 points

Same here. NM Bowl does none of those things. I'd add Armed Forces Bowl, Frisco Bowl, Independence Bowl to the positives mentioned category as well. (It wouldn't happen but the Sun Bowl in El Paso or Texas Bowl at NRG in Houston would be awesome.)2 points

Which means (depending on opponent) we could at best only have 18k or less tickets available to our fans and that is probably a stretch.1 point

The most encouraging thing for me in seeing English out there was that he was not taped up in his foot/ankle area any more than any other player.1 point

Disagree 100%. Off the top of my head, I think DCs are usually afforded a ton of wiggle room when coupled with a coach in the Air Raid tree. I think we see some improvement this season anyways.1 point

Maryland is a mess right now. Player died after practice the other day and now the coach is under fire, or was released, with claims of a toxic environment.1 point

And yet most of us would agree that academics at Tulane is better than at Monroe & academics at Rice is better than at UH. The metrics might be suspect but the perception is real.1 point

It is not that I don't like some current music. There is a lot of older music I don't care for as well. Good music is good music, but we need songs with good intros to pump up the fans and team. They won't play the entire song, but maybe only a third of it at most. That is why songs like Thunderstruck and Enter Sandman are so good.1 point

Is that the problem? hmm.. Serious question - so please don't throw up a bunch of semi-famous people mocking the president. Where are the liberal conspiracies that are akin to yelling fire in a theater? Where are the conspiracies that lead eople into armed stand-offs with police on completely wild-ass theories (pizza-gate, Qanon, sharia law take-overs, deep-state satanism, pedophilia, etc)? I keep hearing about this double standard, but I haven't seen any - but I am completely open to being too close to the trees to see the forest.1 point
