Funny how one person's favorite can be anothers least favorite. I prefer various green and white combos mainly because that's our colors. I like some of the black uni's and helmets, but prefer black as an accent color or maybe just special occasion (Halloween). I don't like the greys at all.6 points

Are the pants cheaper when they reduce the length of the legs by 6 inches or more? This could be a cost savings.4 points

I prefer the green and white combos too. Those are our colors. I do not like the all black or black/grey look like we wore at smut last year. But these...... ...are really sweet!!!4 points

In unrelated news, UNC officials have determined that selling fake diplomas to kids taking fake classes is perfectly ok.4 points

Really liked his tape out of Irving MacArthur and was hoping we would've offered him out of HS. Regardless, we're down a QB now, even if he wasn't going to see any time on the field. Best of luck to him in his coaching career3 points

And taxpayers and donors gave student athletes probably $1 Billion in education,.....something that used to be deemed of value in this country at one time. Rick3 points

UNC screws over students athletes for over 18 years with fake classes....zero suspensions. Students sell gear that the school profited over? Intolerable, the worst of the worst, suspensions handed out like candy and some calling for these kids to be kicked off the team....for selling some damn t-shirts and sweatpants?! I guess the lesson here is don’t mess with money pot kids.3 points

UNT, Rice, UTSA and UTEP all need to join the Mountain West in an eastern division with New Mexico, Air Force, Colorado State and Wyoming. If not a revamped AAC. Winning games in all sports is our only way up. BEAT SMUt and Arkansas and then Fla Atl at home. Go Eagles!!!!!!!2 points

Overall lateral move IMO. But he will be their top assistant. Ross Hodge is ours. He and Jareem were kind of tied (at least in salary they were). So theoretically puts him one step closer to the chair.2 points

That really is funny because I really liked what we wore against SMU (maybe not quite at the beginning but after 30 minutes I was a fan), but this combo makes me want to throw up. Like, I'm fine with the helmet and bottom, but the top seems out of place for me.2 points

I had some thoughts along those lines too, but they did go to the Dance and they did have a good season. There is definitely some lipstick on that pig. Maybe he, or his family, just likes it out there. I looked up their staff out there; have they had a recent change? It shows Anwar as an Asst. and another guy as an Asst. that Miller may know well through his JUCO days. Just speculating and musing, no info.2 points

Agree. This situation brought back to my mind a long-ago investments class. The lecture topic was selling stock short. The prof quoted someone who said "He who sells what isn't his'n must buy it back...or go to prison!". Maybe some sort of reimbursement mechanism should be placed on the offenders.2 points

I don't know. I mean don't get me wrong, the school has to react because this can easily become an NCAA violation with consequences for the school and it is a misappropriation of the gift. However, there is not exactly a need to completely nail those guys to a cross (unless they ran afoul of rules already once before). I do think that some of these dudes probably have trouble understanding that these shoes are not a gift to them but simply a work tool they need to take care of. If it were a gift you could do with it whatever you want. There needs to be a difference between this kind of thing and something that is a much more serious crime (domestic violence etc). So a suspension and maybe also a suspension of some future school issued material seems appropriate (since they seem not to be able to handle it).2 points

Absolutely. Shanbour and Pearson should get some game time in case the worst-case scenario happens. From what I observed in the spring, Pearson looked good and Martin looked......raw.2 points

Walk-ons.. You are responsible for everything just like a normal student. Besides game day meal, if you are scheduled to dress, you get two game tickets. That's it. Not even a jersey with your name on the back. You will see lots of walk-ons survive a season or two but then have a realization that their time is more important studying than spending 6 to 8 hours a day being a tackle dummy. Schools spend a lot of money on scholarships. They are not going to give walk-ons a chance unless they are hidden gems. I did it for four years at A&M. I was lucky. I got to play on special teams quiet a bit. But for the guys that didn't it was brutal getting the crap pounded out of you everyday and then not even get to dress on game days. In regards to athletes admissions? Schools have different standards when it comes to athletes and normal students. Let's take Rice for example. A normal student is required to have something like a 28 or 29 SAT score. A football player has to have a 19. Two points above the NCAA minimum of 17. Same for Baylor. Lots of schools stick with the NCAA minimum.2 points

I feel split about this. It is, of course, commendable that Deion helps his family who seems truly to need the help and seems to be struggling, and in that sense the COA has done something good here. The story clearly shows that he is someone to root for. However, in a way, this is going in the wrong direction. Those stipends were less meant for students to help their families but rather to alleviate the need for families to financially help the students. That is why the money is supposed to be calculated on the needs of a student in the place he is, not about where he is coming from. It is dangerous territory if it becomes the responsibility of universities to ascertain the well-fare of not just student-athletes, but also their families (what would/does happen to those who are poor and do not have student-athletes in their family). Society needs to respond to poverty and need in general (the way it oughta do that may depend on your politics), but it cannot be a universities responsibility to do this in a direct financial way. What universities can do is providing the minimum of what it takes to attend to the universities education so its pupils can get the skills they can then use to escape poverty. COA is meant to do exactly that, and there really must not be an expectation created that it should become more.2 points

Just watched the documentary Disgraceful about the 2003 murder of a basketball player at Baylor. Baylor has been messed up for a long time.2 points

No new uniforms this year, but we will certainly see new combos. I really want them to rock the green helmet, green jersey, white pants more often. What a clean, slick combo.2 points

I thought the same thing per the video, but didn’t notice it at the caravan last week. Two other notes: 1. Do they make wind screens for cell phones? 2. Time to lock the gate... or get some WD-40 for it.1 point

I would say we want respect, but won’t fully deserve it until we beat somebody. SMU is a must win for this, Arkansas would be ideal.1 point

I agree Harry, FAU is that black cloud looming over our heads. I'm curious to see this year to last year. Last year, it just seemed like we could never one up them during the duration of the two games. At least we have a home field advantage, and beating FAU will change the minds of a lot of these sports writers gambling on them to take the conference in the coming years,,1 point

Soccer is different too. The alternative uniform or away game uni is quite different than the home one. Manchester United had a royal blue away uni a few years back that blew my mind it felt so wrong. This years dark blue with gold emblem is sharp. It stirs interest and revenue like Oregon did in its hay day. GMG1 point

If the coaches extended this opportunity to Kanye then I think it is his best interest to take it especially if Coaching is his future goal.1 point

Its just for this year though. We get that scholarship spot back next season or in the 2019 class. As long as we dont go over the yearly allotment for 2019. Just means we cant offer a walk-on an upgrade to scholarship.1 point

And the thing is people STILL gave Bliss shots. Allen Academy hired him and he got suspended for forging eligibility paperwork and recruiting. He gets two more jobs at church affiliated schools after two significant scandals. Southwestern Christian hired him but then when everyone got reminded thanks to the documentary he was out. Then gets hired at Calvary Chapel in Las Vegas. Through all that he was welcomes as church speaker and speaker for the Texas High School Coaches Association.1 point

While I along with most others want to see the accolades and understand how vital Mason is, I would like to see us build the foundation that allows us to move forward (understandably not as strong) if one of your best players goes down, not in a situation where we self-destruct if our backups are not ready.1 point

Williams left after attending only a few summer conditioning workouts. Apparently has some tough dynamics at home, and did not show up in the physical shape expected for student athletes at this level.1 point
