Thank you GMG.com moderators/admins for keeping Ray's memory alive and well by inserting him as an option for reactions to posts. But, we should assign his memory with an actual reactionary value. Something like: "good/bad memories" for those posts by geezers like me reminiscing about the greatness of Booger Kennedy/Lance Dunbar or those thrashings handed to us by Rice/Tulsa. Or, "I wish we knew..." for those questions some folks ask that are either extremely easy to find or downright impossible to find using google. Or, "get lost fool!" for those posts by trolls whom we would like to see miss a few meals, then leave permanently. You GMG.com geniuses out there likely have many more options as well. Let's see 'em.

When I first saw it used I was confused. After much thought, I attributed the use of Ray as the ULTIMATE upvote and save it for that. The regular green upvote is nice and taken to heart...but when you get a "Ray", now that is special. It is recognition but it also connotes granting superpowers we all wish we had.

My Fandom only started in 2013 so I'm still not entirely sure what the big deal about Ray is. It's my understanding he's a dog that one of the Dodge era QB's had that ran away? Outside of that I'm totally lost on the matter

Man I know longer understand the world around me. Baylor has a player murdered and the coach tries to paint him as a drug dealer to explain all the improper benefits that will be found at his apartment. Then that coach gets a job coaching at a Christian high school. Baylor doesn't just cover up sexual assaults, the school tells the victims that if they don't tell the truth they can't do anything and if they do tell the truth and it includes breaking the honor code the victims can be punished including expulsion. The AD involved get a job as AD at Christian school. Baylor must be built on an Indian burial ground or they are experiencing the consequences of the soul sale to get in the Big XII but none of this crap makes any sense to me as to how it could even happen.

I remember we used to beat Sun Belt teams to get into the New Orleans Bowl and get beaten by CUSA teams. Now we beat CUSA teams to get into the New Orleans Bowl and get beaten by Sun Belt teams.

The only thing I would like to see would be the feathers that run down the black pants, be on the white and green pants too. Other than that... I hope we keep these combos for a few years.

There has only been one defense raised that has any degree of plausibility and isn't just outright poor pitiful me. That came from the AD who got snatched up to be AD at Liberty. He contends that the sexual assault problems and the lack of university effort to do anything were actually campus wide and the school tried to contain it within football to head off a deeper look at the overall problem. Given that complaining witnesses were threatened with honor code violations for "causing" assaults I find it plausible that Baylor did in fact have a widespread problem and created an environment for it to flourish when word spread that filing a complaint would place you at risk of punishment.

This was a crook in high school

I know for most (like me) every game seems like the most important. But that first game vs SMU is so big as far as measuring sticks go. Take the fact that it's SMU out of the equation. They are still really talented and this could be a close game. We need Apogee to be ROCKING for that game. Seems like a big win maybe confirms what we may think about this team. A loss? Some question marks may remain. We win and we could be looking at a 10 win season...we lose and I won't know what to think about the team. Who knows....maybe those close wins from last year do turn the other way this year.... It just feels like there's a lot riding on the first game of the season as far as measuring stick.

I was at that practice. The team practiced on basically an intermural field. I would say it was high school-ish but most bigger high schools had better facilities. Times have changed. Finally got everything pulling in the right direction which is why we will demolish SMU.

AState returns a QB who will be the school career TD pass leader sometime around the fourth or fifth game in his third season. Some nice transfers in at WR (will likely start an Arkansas transfer on one side and an Oklahoma transfer on the other). Return a defensive tackle who would have been the second fastest defensive lineman at the last combine if he had participated. Four losses by a combined 27 points and out-gained the opponent in all four, just got clobbered with turnovers. SMU was the only one that wasn't that close and our QB went out fairly early. Face only three teams that had a winning record in 2017 and only Alabama is on the road. Toss in 5 league titles in seven years, the 18th longest bowl streak in FBS at 7 consecutive years and sooner or later it adds up to someone giving you some respect.

The writers at DMN are just lazy. If they have to do any kind of research it want get published...they will grab it off the internet. But someone tell me when the DMN was ever positive about NTSU/UNT. Typical big city liberal news paper with tunnel vision..and the sports page just continues that logic.
