  1. I'm not sure, but his momma inspired him to see that Bangers and Mash got added to the cafeteria menu. Another strange thing...he is the only guy on the staff that drives a Tardis.

  2. Don't get the love for Marshall. What am I missing? I also don't see the MUTS with a greater shot at the title than us. La Tech will be tough as usual and I am thankful we have them at home.

  3. Agreed. We've had a view around here we've thought of as "recruiting gurus" who have brought good insight to the board, but none have had the inside track and insight he does.

  4. Great job with the podcast guys. Really enjoyed it. @TheReal_jayD does a great job following recruiting for us. Much appreciated!

  5. We can interview the coaches and it in the works. But can't ask about any recruits until they are signed.

  6. Good stuff! An idea, and not sure how it would work as far as recruiting violations, but maybe reach out to the HC or position coach of X commit and doing a little 2 or 3 question interview on said commit. Maybe do the recorded interview and create an edit and bunch them into a podcast special. Go live with you and JayD and play the pre-recorded interview after a live synopsis by you guys.

  7. Trevor was a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of player and leaves big shoes to fill. From all I have read since Cole announced his transfer, he has the potential to step into those shoes. Lets get behind him. Would it be against NCAA rules for us to fund for Cole the same icewater IVs Trevor used?

  8. My daughter is about to be a sophomore in high school and college coaches can't talk to her until September 1 of their junior year. The only exception is to invite kids to summer camps or gather information. It seems this would be an easy rule to add for football. Edit: I failed to mention my daughter plays basketball.

  9. Man.....I can't help but think if this is '02-'03 defense...this could be a 10 to 12 win team. (Its beer thirty on a Friday night so take that for what it's worth.) Rick

  12. Check that math. We GAVE UP an average of 49 points in those losses, not lost by. And for the record, I could cherry pick five OU games where they gave up an average of 44 points a game. Our defense needs to get better but not necessarily light years better.

  14. They recruit well and due to that will always have the OL and DL to maintain competitiveness in this conference.

  16. Agree with all the above. And we, UAB, USM, WKU, and FIU all ought to be given better odds than the above. At least you'd think. Some of this will be changing quickly once money starts flowing in.

  17. ...that is what the YouTube poster “Pro Sports Central” called this anyway when they posted it YESTERDAY (7/10/18). Not sure why they chose now to post about this game that happened almost 3 years ago. I just happened to stumble onto it. #olddenton

  18. Thanks for sharing, enjoy the insight. It's been fun following recruiting news this year. I agree, the social media work has been impressive to see. Kids retweet the heck out of that stuff.

  21. The one thing I will say about that A&M 77-0 loss to OU that day is that it was the worst loss I've ever seen a P5 team take from another P5. From a resource standpoint, this outcome should NEVER happen. OU was ahead 77-0 very early in the 4th quarter and then got a fumble return inside the 5 yard line . Stoops immediately tells the QB to take a knee on 1st down, as if there were 30 seconds left on the clock, not several minutes. Stoops then realizes how sad that looks, so he asks his QB to handoff to the FB, who IMMEDIATELY dives down on the ground each of the next three downs, which then gets capped off by A&M DE Johnny Jolly celebrating the "stop" on 4th down like it was something huge. To me, that game for a big time Power Conference Team was the low point for that level of play. OU scores 100+ with ease if they wanted to. A&M never crossed midfield in the entire game, a game where OU's scrubs played almost the entire second half of the game against A&M's starters.

  22. That was topped by the meltdown in the Rose Bowl last year. There have been many games too numerous to mention that come to mind that are far worse than getting killed by OU. Some that I witnessed : 2008 vs Arkie St at Kyle Field. 2004 Vs Baylor at the Case. Hadn't lost to them 18 years previously. 1996 vs U La La at Kyle Field. 1991 vs Tulsa. The worst ones were any time A&M played Texas Tech from 1995 to 2008. 11-3 TTshirts.

  24. Our defense should have some continuity with the staff as well. This will be year 2 of running this Reffett only defense. I have to think that will help. Plus, the offense was great last year...but if we turn a few field goals into TDs this year (and not have to depend on our kicker so much) this will help take some pressure off the D....hence the "slight" improvement needed to get 9-10 wins again this year.

  25. Guess it depends on what you're expecting out of this team. I don't think all the pieces are there for a ten-win team that gets top 25 votes but another nine win season is doable. If we're on the positive side of the turnover margin, that's a huge plus. I think 2018 can be a fun, exciting season that keeps the ball rolling and if we can keep the band together, the sky is the limit for 2019. Either way, I'll give the defense and coaching staff a little benefit of the doubt that they can improve. Being down 17-14 to a Big Ten team on the road into the fourth quarter doesn't qualify as a stomp to me. And I'm not sure how Chad Morris going to UA is a positive for UA yet SMU losing him isn't a negative for SMU. It's a small sample size but Dykes doesn't impress me. Troy and FAU were/are bad matchups but I don't see any other teams besides FAU in our conference with that mixture of skill and beef. I say another 9-3 year with a win over SMU. We lose one or two we think we could've won and don't get all the late game breaks to go our way this year. After fifteen years of mostly bad UNT football, 9-3 would make me ecstatic.

  28. Yeah.....I bet you have a hard time sleeping at night, what with all the "bullying" going on? Griffin's Trump decapitation photo. Snoop Dog shooting Trump in a rap video. "I'd like to bomb the whitehouse"-Madonna New York City's Public Theater during their Shakespear in the Park....stabs Trump to death during performance of Julius Caeser. Peter Fonda suggesting Trump's son Barron be kidnapped and caged with pedophiles. Maxine Waters calls for physical confrontation against the Trump administration. ....and on and on. Rick

  29. Because it really only has to improve slightly and if our offense stays the same we're probably a nine team win again. Having an offense ranked #13 gives you a lot of leeway. And that defensive ranking isn't as bad if you take out a few games. They weren't awful every game. Let's look at the losses. Is SMU better this year? No. Is Arkansas better than Iowa? No. Are the teams that we beat in close wins last year significantly better? No. Don't ask me about FAU. I'm not sure we have an answer for that team.

  30. I did a little digging and found that Scout does not have a rating system. Query the national rankings on Scout and it brings up 247 ratings. I don't know the connection between the two; perhaps someone could find out. The third rating could be ESPN. They must do it for all of the FBS but only P-5 teams are shown on their individual ratings (unless all G-5s are lower than 75.

  31. you know what else is a major drain on our natural resources? far, far more than illegal-immigrant children? not-illegal-immigrant children. if we're really concerned for our natural resources, I'm assuming those are also advocating strongly for pro-choice legislation, or at the least funding for strong contraception education and distribution.

  32. Your tone really angers me. Seriously. That is a child, not an anchor. It takes a ton of hard work to be an immigrant, trying to not stick out and hope to get your child a better life. When you have a child here, you are NOT anchored. You will still get deported. You will get the choice to leave the child with a legal family member or take them back to the land they fled originally... Now with little roots to even help them. If the CHILD gets SNAP benefits - it is hardly milking the system. It is the barest of needs to nourish a CHILD. https://yourtexasbenefits.hhsc.texas.gov/programs/snap With a single child family eligible - the house can only make less than $1700 a month to quality for food assistance of $192 for the whole month. What a deal! Well worth the anchor. Go ahead, dehumanize struggling families if it makes you feel better. It certainly doesn't help your cause though.

  34. It’s the DMN. It will probably stay opened until SMU passes UNT. So it may never close.

  35. Yes, Rivals rating system still exists. They have us 51st nationally in spite of not giving 3-star ratings to 3 or 4 of our recruits. I don't understand why their rank is not included in the 247 composite some of the time. What concerns me is Scout. It appears that if the third rating of the composite is blank, that's because they do not have the Scout rating.

  37. And I think that the President having to disprove some wild ass conspiracy with some 'long form' certificate is really beneath his pay grade. He provided "short form" proof. The hospital validated it. The Hawaii Governor validated. 6/2008 He provided "long form" just to really try to put it to bed in 2011. Yet the conspiracy talk continued. Regardless. Even in 2014, Trump was still going on about his country of birth: Inviting 'hackers' to try to validate this wild ass conspiracy... ! Now you blame *his* delay in providing proof. Amazing lack of honesty. Where is Ivanka's proof that she was here legally in the 90's and she had a legal work visa@!?!? Where is Trump's proof that he actually graduated from Wharton?!? huh? Where are his W-2s?! ZOMG Panic. If only he wouldn't delay and re-neg on his promises to release his tax returns..

  41. ----America need to stop using drugs which support drug gangs and murder and causes most of this illegal immigration.. Conditions in their home land are terrible because of them.. An article in our local paper (AP news) this week stated of those 200 or so at Tornillo ... only 3 of the 200+ are from Mexico. They are from Central America and mostly Guatemala where gangs are terrible. Go after them and it it will greatly decrease. As drug use has increased .. so has the border problem..

  42. To add to Rick's statement, These countries only comprise of 8% of the world's Muslim population. If Trump was trying to actually ban Muslims, he's doing a real bad job of it.

  43. Nah, you do it to yourself,...just like ScreamingEagle66 always does, stretching one thing from another based on leftist emotion instead of facts and logic. The Trump travel ban doesn't ban Muslims or Buddhist. It upholds and enforces visa application requirements from Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, Iran and Yemen in an attempt to keep our country safer.
