  3. Are we 100% sure the NCAA saw the NORTH in front of the word Texas? Anyways great news and im glad he will get another year

  4. I think top 15 is about right. Somebody pinch me, I still can't believe we have that good of a QB at North Texas.

  5. Thank you, Wren and staff, for standing up and helping to change our University.

  8. Walter Chapman was very dominating and better than Kennedy.

  9. I have to admit that I'm not as big a Walter Chapman fan as some other North Texas fans of the Fry era. Fry picked him up as an "under the radar" last minute signing from Grand Prairie. in his first game against UTA, he didn't start, but he came in around the middle of the game and plugged up the leaky side of the defense. Dexter Bussy ( 11 year pro at Detroit) was having his way with one side of the defense. He went elsewhere after Walter Chapman was inserted into the fray. This is a long way to say that I think that when Kennedy was having a good game (not taking plays off) he was more dominating than Chapman. Come to think of it, I don't think that anyone ever used the word "dominating" to describe Chapman. That word was used to describe Joe Greene and the often forgotten Cedric Hardman. Hardman had 38 sacks his senior year at North Texas. Chapman (#65) was a very good and consistent DT. Actually I like Rex Johnson (#56) better than Chapman. addendum: As good as Chapman was, he got pushed pretty hard by his back-up Jimmy Odom (#66 on your program, 5'9 X 230) before Odom was moved over to starting offensive guard.

  11. I called Barnes & Noble this morning and asked if they could check and see if they had a particular magazine for me. She immediately asked if I was looking for the football magazine. After clarifying that she was asking about Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, she said they were out of stock and having problems keeping it on the shelves. She said it’s been very popular this year.

  12. Trent was a very good not great linebacker on a very bad NT team.

  13. I want to know more about Trent Touchstone. I've never seen/heard his name before.

  14. He was 2nd team all-conference with 9 sacks during that magical 2013 season. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/aaron_bellazin_847211.html

  15. No it fits the irony...plus it's funny. From your Snopes link... "In this case, the “news” portion of the article was a speech Clinton purportedly delivered to Goldman Sachs in 2013. While an excerpt of the speech was published by Wikileaks, the Clinton campaign has refused to verify the documents"... So.... it doesn't really matter if she was referencing Trump or not does it? But she probably was considering Trump had donated more money to Democrats, including the Clinton Foundation than Republicans prior to 2011. She and B.J. never had a problem with the Donald as long as he gave them money. Still, if she actually said she wished for more successful business people to run for office then she got her wish. Fits the irony...and it's funny. Rick

  17. Name another dl other than Chapman that had multiple 20 tackle games. Booger was definitely more showy, but didn't make close to as many plays. All time dl: Chapman, Hardman, Kennedy and Greene

  18. The B12 is so invested in the spread, the timing could be perfect for a member to start using the triple.

  19. Jerry was a good guy, but took a finesse team and tried to run Nebraska power running attack and wasted that Jordan Case senior class. To his credit after left NT and Tech learned to adapt scheme to talent. Happy for him.

  21. Bellazin was a solid player, but he never approached all-conference type of play. I would think senior year Dick Abbe was the best play we've seen at DT since Booger.

  22. BOOM. I mean I know, this should have been a given seeing as some P5s already managed to get through with similar situations, but it just never feels like that. Particularly nice that it is early enough for the team to have this knowledge for all of summer/fall camp.

  23. I did not get to witness Mr. Chapman (or Mr. Hardeman either), but yes, I would assume any DLine NT HOF'er is going to be special. I'll have to take your word that Chapman was as good as Kennedy. @GrayEagle @SilverEagle @UNTLifer, & some of you older cats... would you guys agree with that assessment of Chapman?

  24. Walter Chapman was at least as good as Kennedy.

  25. He's one spot behind Kyler Murray. I believe that'll look silly by the end of this coming season.

  28. I think we have 23 scholarships to give this year (Carroll & Redfearn were BS last year I think). We have 12 ships left to give, so here is how I would distribute them & who I think could realistically be picked up in each position: 1 RB (Adaway) 2 WR (Jackson & White) 1 OC (Haynesworth) 1 Weak-Side DE (Sow or Richardson) 1 Strong-Side DE (Bowman or Walker) 1 DT (Merritt) 2 CBs (Gaddie & Morris) 3 Safeties (White, Murray, & Davis)

  29. Back on topic, I would like to see a couple of good corners, Gaddie and Crossley preferably, 2 DT's, 2 DE's, another RB, WR and TE, 2 more OL's and fill in the rest with D-Linemen.

  32. Thanks. I knew he had a good year, but I didn't remember him making 2nd team. That particular defense was the best we've seen since the N.O. Bowl run.

  33. This doesn't seem correct. Are you sure you didn't forget to account for the distance in football attitude between those two places?

  34. This is unbelievable. Is this April fool's? Oh, wait, we are in July. These are usually guaranteed refusals no matter the circumstances. I'll called many times to sue the NCAA due to their crazy bias for P5 programs and outright discrimination against G5 programs. Hopefully, the tides are changing in the NCAA.

  35. Where did you get that stat? Because meangreensport's stat page doesn't cover defensive stats that far back.

  36. Literally the only thing good about Kansas football is it's in a P5 conference.. No way he even considers this job. There will be much better ones that will have interest in him.

  37. I am kind of cheap so I am going to wait for the one member to pay the 35 bucks and then get in at $30. Let me know when you join. GMG

  38. But can he shoot the 3-ball? 🤨

  39. I mean, besides Mean Joe Greene, I'm not sure any DL has been in Booger's neighborhood. However, Aaron Bellazin was a very good player pretty recently and Rod Young is very good too.

  41. I have hope of things changing thanks to fans like Miner and yourself. You and Miner are right, some changes are incremental in nature. But there are things that have the ability to change overnight.

  42. Becoming quite the common refrain from these recruits. To so consistently hear that the "Mean Green Family" is not simply an easily spoken claim of unity but a reality of what Denton has become should make us all proud to hear of the work Wren, Seth, and the rest of the staff/department have done with the program.
