  1. This happened last month, but I didn't see anything posted about it already. Great to see him doing this well!

  4. Visitor seating location is pretty much SOP throughout college football, in my experience. Look where OUR visitors sit. My advice (you didn't ask but I'm giving it) is to buy your ticket from the Athletic Department. If you don't, you'll end up surrounded by Hogs who will be pissed when we win...and you will be boared throughout the game. As others have said, it is a lot more fun when you are surrounded by Green.

  5. I wouldnt sit in enemy territory if I were you. My in-laws are all Razorback fans and have been to a couple games at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock and they are rowdy individuals. You think UTSA fans are bad, UA fans make UTSA fans look like choir boys.

  6. When tickets re purchased through the NT ticket office, NT gets credit for the number of tickets sold. I'd like to think that somebody in Hawg Land would look at the number of tickets sold at North Texas and think, "those fans in Denton are serious. Maybe we ought to do a home-and-home with North Texas sometime." Buy road tickets at North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN

  8. I'm pumped to see so many on here making the trip. This will be my first out of town trip since we opened at TU in austin a few years back. Hoping this is a much better outcome. I'll wait for the AD to release the tickets so at least my $$ goes to the school.

  9. My folks live in arkansas about 40 min north of fayetteville. Dad bought me and him tickets last week, no clue where we are sitting but who cares! it will be fun to wear green in that sea of red

  10. Been monitoring North Texas chat rooms for a long long time. I dont post much anymore yet this deserves one. Always respected Johnny Jones. Anyhow, a few months back just before the end of the BBall season I was at a restaurant in Santa Clara. Johnny and the Nevada came through the door. As I walked by him I stopped to say hello. He stopped and spoke to me for at least 10 minutes .. asking me my name, when I was at North Texas, etc. Went out of his way to say hello and talk. Great guy and I wish him all the best. We all have jobs. But sometimes you meet somebody who respects the job and the relationships ... something we don't see enough. Johnny is always calm, collected and respectful ... and he put NT on the map for a while :)

  14. Haha! And people here think kids know/care about the SWC traditions. Maybe, as long as they grew up in a house where the family has the SWC plastered on the walls. Otherwise, kids only know the last 2-4 years.

  17. I looked online at pictures of the view from the visitors section. Didn’t look very good imo. I would rather spend a little extra and have a better view (mid-field).

  19. I am with other people on here... sit with UNT people. Yeah, its in the corner of the field. But we will be a much better force sitting together vs sprinkled throughout the stadium _______ Also, I wonder if the university will offer any kind of road trip package for students to get a bus ride to the game. Would be pretty sweet!

  27. Not sure if it's #1 yet, but definitely getting close. As a parent of two softball players, I may be a tad biased (or at least overly exposed), but it does certainly seem like the popularity has been growing over the last several years. Between the ESPN networks (including LHN and SEC) the TV coverage is not lacking. During the regular season, it wasn’t hard to find multiple live broadcasts of top 25 teams. We played in a 12U tournament in OKC the weekend of the WCWS tournament. Tournament entry was supposed to include a block of WCWS tickets for teams to purchase, but was already sold out. So, we had to fork out $100+ per seat to sit in the outfield. It was hot but it was a fun environment and I didn’t have the slightest hint of buyer’s remorse.

  28. I can definitely vouch for this during their 2 visits to Apogee so far. There are not nearly as many people in their designated section as there are sitting over on the Alumni side.

  29. FYI, Joe Stevenson (#10 on your program) was on the team from 77-80. He started a couple of games in 79 when Jordan Case's congenital back problem kept him from playing. He started the whole 1980 season. His first start in 80 was the opening of the (then) new UTA stadium......which he totally ruined for them. Until last year, and this year, I always thought that the 79 season where Jordan Case was the starter and Joe Stevenson was the back-up was the best one-two QB situation we ever had.

  30. 1. Arkansas isn't doing a home and home with us. Jerry, U of A alum, will have them in his house forever especially with his grandson now part of the program. 2. Arkansas will note how many tickets are sold to UNT fans by the green in the stands. They don't really care where the revenue comes from as long as their seats are filled. 3. I agree, sitting with your fellow UNT fans is the most fun, but at least people are going. Criticizing them for their choice of seats is pretty ridiculous. 4. I am the first Texan in my family with everyone prior to me being from Arkansas. The experience of going to a game and hearing the "Calling of the Hogs" is something you won't forget. I love all of the jokes and share many, but to see an entire state support a team is pretty cool. 5. Either way, let's walk out of their with a win.

  31. Sit where you want to sit, but I have a feeling you'll regret your choice when NT wins, and you're surrounded by pissed-off Razorback fans rather than your own kind. This would make sense if they weren't already getting to play in JerryWorld every single year. No reason for them to come to DFW outside of that yearly trip.

  36. History literally means nothing in this context. I mean no disrespect but I absolutely never have understood the "well, we didn't do good last time, so that means we won't do good this time." insecurity. Why? There's no rules that we have to be bad in San Antonio. We lost by 7 in 2014 and 14 in 2016. Neither game was unwinnable. 0-2 is not any reason to consider beating them at their place to be "unrealistic", especially in college football where players and coaches change in the blink of an eye. Both teams are completely overhauled from where they were in 2016. I understand the hesitance, but it's not like the Alamodome is some extreme home field advantage. Roadkill on the horizon.

  37. Hmmm. In my mind, his frame alone should almost make him a 3*, and film sure looks like he can play. Wonder if the fact that he is only from a 3A school depressed the rating a bit? In my mind the current rating is approximately adequate and getting him is clearly a win for UNT. Also: UNT will get the same player, whether he be rated .85 or .78

  38. Very nice to see him get a shot at the next level. I wish him the very best...him personally. I can't stomach the damned Redskins franchise but their money is probably good so I hope Darvin gets to spend plenty of it.

  44. Volcanoes gonna erupt, cattle gonna fart, Mother Earth gonna move and change over geologic time, electromagnetic poles gonna shift, etc.. What scares the hell out of me is if I'm still around when that magma chamber at Yellowstone decides to blow. Meanwhile, ants and people gonna come and go in a relative instant. I have a lot more to worry about than global warming, particularly since I have zero effect on it. I do my best to recycle and be otherwise a responsible steward of things under my control but, at the end of the day, I believe we're just along for the ride.

  45. I spoke to him personally three years ago about their entrance as they walked by during the Mean Green March. You were standing about 10 feet from me. Remember, after I walked along with him and asked he told me "We just don't have time to work on a marching entrance" To which I replied..."But your marching......RIGHT NOW to a real cool cadence that would be perfect to enter the stadium to. Why not just use it?" To which he shot back.."We just don't have time"...and he walked off. So to me this means it's a zero priority on whether they look like shit or not as a college football band. And that's why during the N.O. Bowl......they got their doors blown off by Troy. Rick

  46. Wow, didn't realize he had suffered major knee injuries. Vito has been so busy telling us who has committed to SMU or reminding us of the cost of Apogee that I guess he decided this wasn't report worthy. Thanks for the update @UNT Mean Green Sorry to hear this about Mr. Reynolds.

  50. I agree with Rick & Bill that our immigration policy should be based on constitutional laws. I just happen to believe that those laws should be written & enforced with a sense of compassion and understanding. There should be no place for xenophobia or racism.
