  1. Hadn't seen this posted but it appears McClain didn't end up in Oakland as was initially reported but has been at the Texans' minicamp... Glad to see him land an opportunity to continue pursuing his dream

  2. Good for him. That would essentially be his hometown team. Not a huge Texans' fan but I am a big McClain fan.

  3. I know I’m in the minority but I would like to see Army rejoin C-USA. I think it would add more prestige to the conference. I don’t think Army has any interest in doing so but who knows after the next round of realignment.

  6. Is this photo recent or from their predraft workout ? McClain did get a 3 day rookie tryout w / Raiders, but did not sign a UDFA deal https://twitter.com/aaronwilson_nfl/status/978619972590161921?s=21

  7. And they're sponsoring Hendricks Motorsport's #24 Chevrolet,....which wiped out with about 12 laps to Go in NASCAR's K.C. Masterpiece 400 in Kansas last night. Rick

  8. If you ever want to get Littrell fired up at the coaches caravan, ask him about the Army series.

  10. And we fall perfectly on their schedule for it to be a "trap" game for them. With a number of relatives that live in Arkansas and a few alums of the university, this would provide me with hours/years/decades of joy.

  11. Just take a gander here: http://www.espn.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/2335/year/2017 If we're a serious team, which I believe we are, do you think Liberty is a team that's going to beat us? We essentially have 2 FCS games this season. This game will count as an FBS game since Liberty is in transition... but they're still very much on the FCS level talent/ability-wise. Wins, wins, wins... doesn't matter who/where we get them from... just win games. Hello Boise model! PS. I know what some of you are thinking... We are a LOOOOOOOONG way away from Portland State. Do not bring up Portland State.

  12. What ever your views on leaving the Army series, I find it amusing that we are knocking Liberty for not being a recognizable name team. LIberty fans are probably saying the same thing..'get us an opponent with name recognition.' As to a religious element in scheduling Liberty, I think you are reading far too much into the AD's motives. It's a done deal and now we just need to hope (and pray?) that we don't get beat by Liberty.

  13. I was honestly apprehensive about all this, 100 million dollars isn’t chump change. Then I read the Dallas Morning News article. They basically trashed the whole idea. It seems to me DMN is not a fan of North Texas, for whatever reason as I’ve seen more negative articles about UNT in that publication than in other newspapers. I’m fully on board now. It’s true, if it were any other school doing this there wouldn’t be an issue IMHO GMG

  14. And yet nowhere in that long article discussing violent crime in London does anyone suggest the solution is to increase the number of guns on London's streets.

  16. Mega Camp is in reference to the Number of Colleges represented not necessarily what colleges are present. As for who is showing up, it is 100% ok with me. Last year we had OU, Oregon, Rice and us. The kids who showed up at camp for OU or Oregon were likely encouraged to attend the camp so a coach could further evaluate them before offering. The kids who showed up for those schools lets be honest we have no shot at anyway. I wish people realized how far behind we are facilities wise even with most G5 programs. There are so many schools who have more to sell as a program than we do currently. Yes we are upgrading but those aren't done yet and it is a crutch. Is that the sole factor for why a kid goes somewhere? No, absolutely not BUT you are a 17/18 year old kid and you go from one campus who has facilities and support then you go to UNT where "It is being built" but you can't physically walk through it see it and be impressed its a hard sell. I am the first one who thinks we need to be better at recruiting, but the fact that a high 3 star multiple offers I think over 13 now, kid has committed here even if it is "for now" shows that they are putting in the work. I am ok with going after guys like Preston from Argyle who we probably don't have a snowballs chance in hell to land. BC for so long I have complained about not offering high profile guys locally and trying like crazy to land them. At some point it would be nice if that recruit would tell us hey thanks, but I am looking elsewhere. At that time we better have some other offers out to guys who can ball and not looking at our 6/7th ranked OL to replace him.

  18. Beaten fan syndrome...It's contagious and helpless. I have come to learn that expectations are very sporadic and on a very wide spectrum around these parts, almost on an individual to individual basis. The people with the average to above average expectations have to set them in concrete and hunker down, because the hand grenades are going to be thrown over the wall by the beaten fans with a "how dare you" attitude. As for the "mega" camp, it's only mega in name. However, I do like the fact that we are hosting so it could be opportunistic for UNT for the reasons that some posters have stated.

  20. If playing winnable games is the most important criterion let's just drop back to the Southland. Better still the Lone Star Conference would provide a great opportunity to go undefeated.

  21. I hate that my university is associating in any way, shape, or form with Liberty. Schedule TCU, BYU, or SMU all you want. Those schools are religious but they're not embracing and advancing pseudoscience.
