  1. Great to see a decision with some drama, where NT is in the mix, where God is thanked, where emotions are shown...and then the North Texas hat gets placed on the lid. GMG

  4. And, since I'm a guy that doesn't like to write off the existing guys: Malik/Jarrion/Jaried, this guy is coming to take one of your spots. Work hard and prove you're the better player.

  9. Wow. Man of his word. Much respect. I don't want to hear our resident dark clouds trying to say after the fact he didn't have offers from Cornhole and Bammer. This has to be one of the biggest head to head wins in quite some time.

  10. And all of that, except for one bowl game, was accomplished by a coach he didn't hire, who he couldn't stand, and who he fired and then never came close to hiring a replacement who repeated that level of success.

  11. Such a good get. This is the kind of news that makes people excited about supporting the team.

  12. Well Ken, as someone who wasted 40 Million of taxpayers money, as someone said earlier "chasing a hummer around the White House", how does it feel to have that Karma train run over you?

  13. Best of luck Anthony, but unless you have access to a SkyHawk, rope, nylon, and magic markers, you're out of luck. On the plus side, he didn't stand outside the last round of the draft with a sign that said "Above the Rest for Thousands Less."

  14. The Coliseum also asked me to write a summary of their memorial history (which believe it or not, they did not have). After going through decades of LA Times articles, I typed up a fairly lengthy version, of which they gutted and kept the basics to put on their website if you are interested. (If anyone wants to read the orginal, I still have that much longer version I can send - Ha!) http://www.lacoliseum.com/index.php/the-los-angeles-coliseum-dedicated-to-the-united-states-armed-forces-memorial/

  15. I would hope we get more serious about raising money than saving money. The last AD was miserable at the former.

  18. Got a Twitter notification that Littrell, Harrell, and Filani are all following this kid. Maybe they're trying to make a late sneaky push? 3-star, dual threat QB. Offers from Houston, Utah State, Rice, SMU, Kansas. Very nice list. http://247sports.com/Player/Jaylon-Mascorro-80289 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3240349/jaylon-mascorro

  19. From what I understand, the NCAA has eliminated the hardship waiver that allowed players to immediately play at the new school. Instead, players must sit out a year, but may be granted an additional year of eligibility. Based on the above, there is absolutely zero chance Bryce English sees the field in 2016. I just wanted to post this because there seems to be some confusion still about his 2016 status, as evidenced in the article recently published on TexasFootball.com. And, again, in this initial story on the MGB: Football: UNT transfer follows father’s footsteps The above quotes are inaccurate, per the following: NCAA.org - Council recommends transfer policy change Sporting News - NCAA eliminates hardship waivers for transfers Tulsa had to deal with this last year: NCAA's elimination of hardship waivers devastating news for Khari Harding's family So, if anyone was hoping to have Bryce English this fall (I was), you can forget about it. I hope Bryce's father doing well in his battle against cancer.

  22. That's me speaking on Memorial Day. Probably a hundred people came - they were prepared for many more. However, it was the first year they'd really tried to to have a service there in about 40 years. The Coliseum is a WWI memorial and had commemorative events for Armistice/Veterans Day and Memorial Day for decades after it was built in 1923. I've been helping them try to restart the tradition as part of my WWI Centennial Commission outreach.

  30. Maybe RV will not collect a buy out, since he loves UNT so much, and free up money for positions for outstanding former student athletes that would surely make UNT better?

  32. We need to quit beating around the bush with this guy and somebody needs to pull some strings and get him a job in the new AD. He could do just about anything the AD needed. *Also, a little off subject, but season tickets worth X amount need to be hand delivered by someone on the coaching staff, preferably Seth Littrell or Harrell. Granted in the DFW area. That is a way to get a little spike in MGC membership and season ticket sales.
