  1. There were cable problems. There were a lot of technical problems tonight at the stadium. Nothing to get worked up about, temporary things.

  6. Perhaps maybe coach knew something about what he could and couldn't do against particular teams. I have a hard time believing that if coach believed he could do more that coach Mac wouldn't have given it to him.

  7. Let's see who will be honest If DW had started and put up the same number and we won there would be message after message saying "See, he should have been in the whole time". As the old saying goes Haters going to Hate

  8. It shows that even in deeply red Denton (yes, look at the voting history in other elections), the issue of urban drilling and fracking is not a left wing tenet.

  9. A very DT like 12-16 for 107 with 1 td and 1 pick. This is exactly the type of HOF bus driving performance that coach wants.

  11. No excuses, however, a big portion of our crowd had kids with them, in that weather and temperatures getting colder than expected many kids looked unprepared (clothing wise) for that weather and parents took them home. That's my guess. Man that student section was rocking. I believe this ship will right itself, that many kids still believe? That feeds into our guys. Let's go!!!

  12. I thought the crowd was loud and seemed into the game. It made for a fun evening and a good homecoming game.

  13. We are so limited in our offense with MiniMac. His ball takes all day to get there on out routes. He almost had two picked last night. He makes the same damn mistakes Dajon made and doesn't get yanked. A good defense shuts us down. Look at the second half of the last two games. Defenses see that we throw along the line of scrimmage or run short routes, so they jam everyone close to the line. Hence, we've done jack shit in the second half of the last two games. All these other major programs let their best talent get the experience and live with the mistakes(golsten ND).

  15. On the other hand, NOT showing our game on stadium televisions, it would seem, would encourage one to stay in their seat and watch OUR game. It got cold last night and many in the Club chose to stay indoors to talk and drink. While i really enjoy the Club, I wish more was done to make those "indoor' fans realize how important it is to be AT the game rather than just at the game. Beat UTEP GO MEAN GREEN

  16. Are you just intentionally missing the point like some apologist for the athletic department? Every time I leave my seat to go buy something I expect the monitors to show me the game, so that I can buy something and not miss any of the action while I'm standing in line. That's the whole point of having the monitors in the first place. To say "what's the problem? or "no big deal" is soooooo old NT culture. I've spent too many years going to North Texas games and hearing the same thing from casual fans after we lost a game.....especially the ones we should have won, and I'm officially sick of it. If I was standing in line to buy something from my University and there is something wrong with the monitor feed, I would expect the monitors to be off...and a sincere apology from the staff for the inconvenience.

  17. Give the team some credit... defense basically dominated this game... oyr dline was in their backfield all night, good d is what won this game... some of yall fans need to be more fans then haters... just like the umteen thousand douches on the hill for the whole game... great job mean green comin out and playing for your season.

  19. Been saying it for months, but Mac would rather have a QB go 12-16 for 107 1/1 than a QB go 21-30 for 297 3/2. We will win games when we get a great performance from special teams, defense, and the running backs. If we don't, then mark it a L.

  21. AM is DT with less of an arm. You guys can argue about that being a shot at DT or high praise for AM all you want. I think it's both... in a sad way for North Texas Football.

  22. Also, for what it's worth, it took me 30 minutes to park, because lots were full and traffic sucked. I started to get pissed, then remembered what it use to be like, pulling in 5 minutes before kickoff parking and walking in. I'll take it!!

  23. Don't know? Why don't you ask the owner of the board, who happens to be the one that started the topic in this forum.

  24. Fouts Field parking lot was full when I was walking through about 30 minutes prior to kickoff... I've never seen that before. Yeah, win and they're inside the gates... also a bigger name than FAU probably would have drawn more people in.

  25. We won in two phases last night. On the Scoreboard and on the Common Sense board with a play that had the QB under center and Lynn pile driving it into the endzone. We're learning! Rick

  26. Tell me which QB on the roster currently is capable of consistently putting up those numbers? If McNulty ends up being DT Version 2 for the rest of this year and next season I will take that over what I've seen from Greer and DW this season.

  27. Channels 1-11 worked, nothing beyond that. It was a cable issue they were trying to repair all day.

  28. I assume you were being sarcastic. He was "coddled" much more than "great". The playbook he is asked torun differs greatly from what Dajon is asked to run (even in the four or so snaps he got last night).

  29. I really don't think we beat FAU- I think they beat themselves- they probably played their worst game of the year. I think we played okay, but 3 points in the second half? Disappointed that we didn't see more Dajon Our passing game needs alot of work- disappointed that we only threw the ball 16 times

  30. While I see your point UNT90, there is also a long history of cities with friendly business reputations for "getting things done" that have long-term negative consequences for their people. I don't want to generalize but this is a football forum and a thread on a message board so I will. There is a precedent for businesses to benefit from "business-friendly" cities, using up the resources, then leaving when it dries up. The citizens are left with the consequences. In this particular case I think it was excellent weighing of the costs (unknown long term damage to kids, health that costs big $$) vs the benefits (1% of Denton economy + some vague sense of attractiveness to monolithic "business"). Given that Denton has a growing tech reputation, I think this ban serves two purposes -- protecting health, and also creating a positive environment that a certain kind of person wants to live an work in.

  31. Yep. How you do not make sure the stadium is functioning prpperly before your biggest home game of the year is pretty amazing, if that is truly the case. What is much more likely is that we were too cheap to pay for the Sports package to get the game. We have a budget, don't you know. Either way it's small time to the inth degree, but that is UNT for you.

  33. That's the difference between here and other places. Other places, things like this would be unacceptable. Here, it's simply nothing to get worked up about. That's the case with a lot of things here. Not just technical issues in a new stadium. Nothing to get worked up about.

  41. Probably not. Less than 1% of Denton's revenue come from gas well permits. Most of the people who work the sites live elsewhere. The revenues go to corporations in Dallas or Houston. Denton won't feel a thing, even from the lawsuits. Pennsylvania, Colorado, New York towns each spent well under $1 million defending their bans. The industry spent a lot of money trying to instill fear into our citizens.

  42. It was nice to get the win but I have trouble getting excited going forward. In the passing game, yes we were 12/16 for 107 yards, but we only threw 3 vertical balls all game! 1 for a TD which was a nice ball across the middle. The 2nd was a pick and the 3rd was incomplete. The balance of our passing game was to take the snap and throw right or left with no reads to a pre determined WR. That will not fly against any team that is good. FAU was terrible. They had very pour defense and yet our last 8 series were 5 punts, an interception, a FG on a fumble recovery on the 30 and a TD on a pick returned to the 15 yard line. Our RB's looked very good and really pound the ball for us and should continue to serve us well going forward. On the defense side of the ball I am not sure, FAU did not have a QB! He looked more like a full back trying to play QB as he did not read and could not throw the ball accurate. (although his TD was a great throw and I wonder where they came from). The game plan reminded me of our first several games as just run the ball between the tackles and hope for the best. On to UTEP.

  44. That's usually not the case. I'll bet they hadn't purchased the special Fox Sports package that you had to have to pick up the game. I don't know that those TVs are networked into the feed that shows up on the TVs by the concession stands (which were not working well at all tonight).

  46. Not to mention, if you looks at a map of active drills inside Denton city limits, there really isn't a lot left to tap in to. The industry will save face, put up a little bit of a fight. I have always suspected this wasn't about Denton, but about the precedent we set with this vote. This happened last December: "The Dallas City Council passed Wednesday new restrictions that bar hydraulic fracturing within 1,500 feet of a home, school, church, and other protected areas. The new rules effectively ban the practice within the city." Petroleum engineer Bill Crowder of Dallas indicated that the economic and legal wrangling over fracking in the city is not yet over. “I want you to look me in the eye next February or March,” he said, according to the Dallas Morning News, “when I ask you, ‘What the heck were you thinking?’” While a few have been filed, Dallas wasn't flooded with lawsuits, which certainly has deeper pockets and a prime target for lawyers.
