15-33 186 1 td 1 in(returned for a td) This is your bus driver. This is what you're going to get from minimac every week. Or put in DW who will go 24-35 for 290 with 3 tds and 2 turnovers. Not to mention can bring an added dimension to the offense. And still has 3.5 yrs left to play, learn, and grow.5 points

The dropped pass by No. 11 just before halftime was a killer. I think it would have put us in field goal range. Then, two straight sacks.4 points

this bugged me when the announcers were saying it today, and to be perfectly honest, it really shocks me that you repeated the inaccurate line. DW had TWO plays today - a 20 yard run, followed by a 4 yard pass to Kidsy.3 points

This again? Mcnulty just put up two straight DT-esque games. If you needed any proof of how this year's team would be doing with DT, take a look at the last two games.3 points

Remember when DT wouldn't have really altered this offense/special teams/defense combo/outcome at all as compared to what he was working with last year? No, sure you don't.3 points

Believe it or not our d played better and hard. I was expecting 62 from rice and they barely got in the 40s with seconds left. You could feel the break coming after mcnulty failed to capitalize on great field position on several occasions. Again we needed anyone in there who could get some first downs. They broke but overall played a solid hard game. The problem is main one that is under center. What a waste of a year. But still green and still white and still gonna eat tacos on the border and drink a lot of margaritas on the river walk. GMG3 points

I don't get it. At 2-6 I don't know why you don't just put DW in there and see what happens the rest of the season. I don't really see this team winning anymore this season at this rate. You sure don't see many teams go from 9-4 to 2-6 in the coach's 3 and 4th year.3 points

Well, last year was fun. Now it's back to the horrible football that most of us have grown accustomed to over the years. Same old song & dance.3 points

NT wins 5-0 tonight (at home) against the team picked to win the conference. NT is 3 points ahead of Rice and UTEP in the standings with two games remaining. Charlotte hosts the conference tournament. Final two games are at home against ODU this Sunday and WKU next Friday.3 points

I get a few. I usually get at least one person per game. We actually have between 1500-2000 people out here, but lots of them are retired and haven't been involved for decades. I figure a few years of getting the word out will help grab new/recent alumni when they move to the area and then it'll be easier to gain momentum. Doesn't take a ton of work, but consistently putting out stuff like this as many places as possible helps ensure that interested people will find out about it. We've had a few occasions with about 10 people, which is a huge win in an area where basically nobody has ever tried before.3 points

I'm 6'3" and I can hand off a ball as good as anyone. Not very fast but I can underthrow passes like you wouldn't believe. And I wouldn't mind finishing my Masters on someone else's dime.3 points

It's not always bad to be in last place. Here's some things we can focus on: One, we tried hard. And two, we're still dear friends!2 points

I can think of maybe 2 posts the last 3 years which don't involve you spewing off about RV and Mac, and one of them is likely in a thread called "Happy birthday UNTBowler" MeanGreenDan and GreenMachine...they are way better at this than you.2 points

My thought on today was that McNulty was starting to seem comfortable leading this team, then took that one huge hit that must have been worse than it looked, and either his body or his confidence suffered. Whichever it was, the fact is that just because he's tough enough to want to keep going, if you as a coach see that it's not working out, force him to rest. If it turns out he's the best option (?) then wouldn't you want to get him healthy instead of letting him go back in when he's obviously shaken enough that his performance is dipping?2 points

Revisit this if/when our defense and special teams carry any of these quarterbacks to a bowl game. We don't miss DT. You may want to grab some frozen peas for the swelling if you insist on banging your head into that wall to soothe your ego.2 points

I like coach Mac, but the way he is handling the QB situation is sucking the life out of the team just like it is sucking the life out of the fans. It is so hard to have any kind of enthusiasm for this kind of football.2 points

I don't think McNulty is as bad as a lot people think, I also don't think Dajon is as good as some people believe he is. The real problem we have here is the fact that Canales hasn't developed a steady replacement for DT, and that Mac might be too old school for his own good. Point being, the only "Pro-style" QB we have currently have on the roster is Greer, and we all know how that turned out. Why continue to waste our time trying to run the ball up the gut 10 times in a row, although the play calling has considerably opened up more as the season has gone on. Pick one style of offense and run it. We looked damn good in the first half running the up tempo spread, once we got back to huddling every single play the offense did nothing. Look at what Leach did at Tech, what Sumlin has done at Houston and A&M. Those offenses are simple, maybe 40-50 plays in the playbook, but those 40-50 plays are run to perfection, and it simplifies things for the entire offense. I don't think the QB is the main problem, I think the shackles that our coach puts on the offense is2 points

Now that we're out of bowl eligibility, give the reins to Dajon for the rest of the season.2 points

Someone make me feel better and tell how we are going to be any better next season2 points

He throws a nice deep ball but everything also is too late. He knows his arm strength isn't there so he hesitates to see if the wr will get wide open. He missed Marcus smith on two rollouts in the 3rd qtr that were atrocious.2 points

Pitiful. Patience is gone and some coaches better be as well at seasons end. This is pitiful and we are officially a bottom 10 team after year 4. Thanks Mac.2 points

McNulty threw a pick six. That means, 1)By Mac's rules he's not allowed to start theHomecoming game 2)TFLF will be a stand up guy and be silent all week I'll take it2 points

Gotta get McNulty out of there. And you can't call him safe when he just tried to get picked 3+ times that possession.2 points
-
He did pretty well. In the first two quarters he threw 11/13 for 183 yards, 2 TD's and 0 INT's. He and the other key players were pulled at halftime. 4 more weeks and we're on a plane to the Texas for his visit. We're looking forward to getting on campus for that visit. Go Mean Green! P.S. I just received the official stats from the team statistician and it's also worth noting he had a perfect passer rating of 158.32 points

Are you aware that college sports at North Texas loses money? So by your reasoning, UNT student-athletes should pay for the privilege to play.2 points

Just curious--who would you suggest? As far as speaking of Texas as one of the best (football) schools . . . it hadn't been for a long time before Mack got there. One thing I guarantee Mack Brown will do is bring an infusion of talent into SMU. And he will also bring the connections and the charismatic personality to potentially poke SMU through any doors that might open in future conference reshuffling. Not to mention, he will keep the donor dollars flowing at SMU, which is their lifeblood.2 points

Mac is more worried about proving points than winning. Sounds ridiculous, but there was nothing supporting otherwise.1 point

With apologies to Led Zeppelin's Heartbreaker Hey North Texas, have you heard the news? You know that Benford's back in town? It won't take long just watch and see how his coaching tears the program down. HIs style's not new and the pace is lame as it was the last two years But from his mind, a different kind, one that brings the fans to tears. Well, it's been two years but it seems like more since We first set eyes on you. Best basketball of our life gone by, our mean green hopes turned blue. Some people cry and some just ask why about the strange game you planned But you'll just keep on rolling along while subbing out the hottest hand. Fans are talkin' all around 'bout the way you left them flat, You don't care what the people say, You know that your paycheck's fat. One thing we do have on our minds, if you can clarify please do, It's the way they passed all the other guy's named when they were selecting you. We try to make sense but it ain't no use. We work so hard need a game to unwind, paid our money too; Abuse our love a thousand times, however hard we tried. Coach Benford, your time has come, can't take your evil way; Basketball Heartbreaker1 point
