This pillow fight is almost... almost as silly as a fully clothed man attempting to streak but giving up right after getting his courage up to try.4 points

Give Andre ware over Howard every time. I listened to Howard for about 5 minutes and wanted to rip my ears off. He's better on game day.4 points

Chico should design pass routes that always keep one receiver 20 yards down field and directly in line with the primary receiver, problem solved.3 points

Why hasn't Chico implemented the play where the receiver is always wide open for a TD?2 points

My Mom wrote for the Daily back in the 70's and knew Blakeley quite well. Trust me, he wanted Spudd Webb very badly. Newman turned Webb away.2 points

The biggest win of the season will be the one that gets us into the tourney. Unless we go undefeated and lose in the conference tournament championship, chances are the Belt is still a 1 bid league.2 points

I believe the real key is for our backs and WRs to take a knee or go out of bounds at the 21 if they do not think they can score. As long as the plays start outside the 20, we will be fine.2 points

Spud verbally committed to play for Coach Blakeley. Blake was fired and we brought in Tommy Newman. Newman felt that Spud would not fit into his slow ass brand of ball. Spud went on to Juco before signing with Jimmy Valvano and North Carolina State; winning a National Championship.and having lucrative NBA career. Newman was fired after failing to ever get the ball up court.2 points

Does it? It seems that, under the new system, no matter how much we win, it will not be possible for us to participate in one of the big bowls. Under the current structure, the carrot of getting to play in a BCS bowl was there. Now it isn't there. Either way, we have to improve before this is a real issue for us.2 points

It's their home opener and they are expecting a sell out. Unfortunately I think I am out, as my last best hope (Obi Wan Roadtripi) let me down. *Please don't do any Darell Dickey on this game, the score will end 14 - 12 and people will complain we ran the same half court offense over and over even if we win.2 points

I was told once, but have now forgotten, specific numbers. I do remember that they expect to "sell out" club level seats next year. I put that in quotation marks because they will actually hold some of the seats in reserve as guest seats for the club members to buy. However, every seat they want to sell in the club level they expect to have sold by next year. At about ~$7K minimum investment for each seat, that's good news.2 points

I mentioned a few years ago about a skinny freshman named Oberkrom who I witnessed putting on a display of kicking I had never seen before at the HS level for Arlington Martin High School vs Trinity in a playoff game. He's now the skinny freshman kicking for TCU, and he's just as solid for the frogs as he was for Martin. ........ But, his replacement this year for Martin, Ben Grogan, can not only drop kick, as he did in a game against Weatherford on October 8th, http://highschoolspo...on-friday.html/.....but he has a hell of a leg with accuracy from the the hold as well, hitting from 56, 52,52 and 43 along with two other hits, six total against North Crowley last week. http://highschoolspo...on-friday.html/ By the way, I expect Oberkrom to break the college distance record at some point in his career for TCU. If we win out, we are guaranteed a share of the conference title. It's not really that bizarre of a situation. At least four other teams are in the same spot, the only thing is we can't all win out, so the conference title can't ve split more than two ways.1 point

Hello.. Thanks for the conversation over at the Bluejay Underground and for visiting White & Blue Review. It has been great learning more about North Texas and I too think this will be a great matchup to start the season. Anyway I just wanted to throw in here, that UNT too was pretty desparate to get their schedule finished as they had several dates to fill just before the schedule was announced. My understanding if you want to look at it this way was that this was a buy game for Creighton to have UNT come to Omaha this year and that the 14-15 and 15-16 games were a H/H deal. So I think both teams wanted to get the schedule finished and came to this type of agreement. Had Creighton not decided to get this game, they would have played a D2 opponent. So it is a win for everyone involved I think. It makes sense for Creighton to play in Texas due to Creighton's Texas connection with assistant coach Steve Lutz. There are several Texas natives on the roster for the Bluejays.1 point

Yes, but Reagan also was faced with double digit interest rates and double digit inflation. He had all three of these problems on there way to being fixed by this time in the 1984 election cycle. I find this quote interesting: "In April 1984, the economy added 363,000 jobs. In the first four months of 1984, employment growth hit 1,564,000. This year, the first four months have brought about half that amount. And the Reagan recovery sustained its momentum through the election, averaging 300,000 new jobs a month from May to October." From this article (to appease Greenbat): http://money.cnn.com/2012/05/04/news/economy/obama-reagan-recovery/index.htm Now, keep in mind Reagan was faced with a much, much, much tougher set of circumstances than was Pres. Obama, and Reagan policies turned all three ugly heads of that recession monster around. Pres. Obama has yet to put a real dent in the one headed monster that he inherited. Reagan deregulated, cut taxes, and got the hell outta the way. Pres. Obama has preached more government as the cure to all of our problems. It should be clear to any rational minded person which approach works and which doesn't.1 point

My only prediction: we will win. There is no way Mac won't have this team ready for next Saturday. We will play all 4 quarters of the MTSU game, with solid performances on both sides of the ball and special teams.1 point

Only if they gave up 72 to SMU. Now THAT would be embarrassing.1 point

Then quit responding to the thread. Or better yet, don't open the link. Nobody is forcing you to open the thread. The best option is to drop a bunch of F-bombs in a post, get suspended then you won't have to worry about it.1 point

Why play KSU at the Cotton Bowl when they have proven they will come to Denton? I would rather have an Iowa State, Missouri, Mississippi, Miss St, Kentucky, etc... at Apogee than UT, A&M, LSU...in Dallas.1 point

Marketing/Promotions is about raising brand awareness more than anything else. The effectiveness of said marketing/promotion event is determined by not only attendance for that single event but also for subsequent (in this case) games after said event.1 point

Wow, 3k is low. I wonder if suite/club tickets are actually counted in season tickets. I am certain that there is someone on this board knows the answer to this year's season tickets sold total (at least ballpark).1 point

Being a football coach makes watching games very interesting and annoying for some people. But that game last night was kind of a joke LALA never adjusted to ASU's run game. At one point ASU ran the same play 5 times in a row (simple 34 GT counter) LALA's 3-4 defense line was getting washed down and their linebackers were not reading the pull. I mean ESPN cameras showed ASU's coaching mouthing run the same play over and over again.. SCheme wise i think we match up much better than LALA simply because our 4 man front makes it more difficult to wash down and our linebackers are much much better ball players than the cajuns!!1 point

Another thing to keep in mind with the sentencing - Sandusky was labeled a dangerous pedophile so even if he were to get out, he would always have to register with tge state, and would have plenty of restrictions. Not that it's better than the guy getting 60 years, but it is another aspect of his sentence.1 point
