  1. Zac played his freshman thru junior seasons primarily on defense at Sherman as Wayman James (now at TCU) was the feature RB for the Bearcats. Zac took over at RB when James graduated.

  2. Well? Anyone heard anything new on this? Would be nice to have one for this upcoming season but I'm starting to think that isn't going to happen.

  6. Isn’t this country great or what! As a Viet Nam Veteran, I can now go on-line an order me a “medal of choice” and add to my five “earned” medals received for my service in ‘Nam. Let’s see, a Silver Cross with 5 oak leaf clusters would be nice. Couple of bronze stars, two purple hearts, etc., would add nicely to my collection. And I can now tell people I won those awards and display them on my lapel if I want to! Wearing a Medal of Honor around my neck might be a stretch. (sarcasm intended) I know this is a freedom of speech issue, but I sure hope the lawmakers have enough sense to “tweak” the law just a tad. Where’s the common sense? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57462642/supreme-court-strikes-down-stolen-valor-law/

  7. Someone posted about it a few months ago but it was just hearsay I believe. I'm sure it will happen eventually, I'm not getting my hopes up for this year.

  8. Part of me thinks it the striking down was a bad, bad idea. Then again, I've seen what happens when someone gets sniffed out when they fake service and it actually be worse than any legal punishment. And it's usually well-deserved, too.

  9. Fb/h-back? For the record I am way against moving Whitfield, he's someone I was expecting great things from.

  10. I can confirm those are 35's. I watched my son lift in this weight room this last spring where Guyer, Marcus and Hebron got their varsity football teams together for a informal showcase of team strength. My son is a DB and I thought I had just witnessed him putting up and incredible max of 365 on bench and 345 power clean when is best max was 305 and 285 respectively. After seeing some other parents milling around in the weight room, I went in to talk to my son to see what the heck and he pointed out the he only completed his best max of 305 and 285. The 35's look like 45's but are thinner. Not sure why they were stacking the 35's on everything they were doing but I was overwhelmed watching all of them from the outside looking in.

  11. GrayEagle answered that question in another thread---the jist is that they will offer ECU and/or SMiss Big East spots.

  13. Nope, look at the commitment dates. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/commitments/2013/northtexas-182;_ylt=AruqZxRnBQ8fKDot505m1RpHPZB4 And I appreciate the -1 because you're too lazy to look.

  15. No. Until each conference can have a representative, the Non-AQ or whatever we are calling them now, can be easily excluded.

  16. So, how do we tell whether the plates are made of wood?

  17. The point is, you cannot tell from the video what the weights of the rubber plates are.

  18. Well then, 300+ lbs of feathers must weight less than 300+ of rubber weights, right?

  23. When did we rename the Super pit to Apogee arena? I wasn't notified of this change. Edit - someone's post about new jumbo's at "Apogee" mysteriously disappeared. Or - I could be going crazy.

  24. And to that (and everyone else) I say THIS IS NOT FEBRUARY. I used to have a supervisor who's first career was teaching English in middle school. One of her favorite quotes to anyone who was predicting future success in a project/assignment that she had given them was "There's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip ". Her point was, people tell you something now, but you need to keep following up with them along the way. Now, don't get me wrong. I really like to hear about outstanding athletes who are saying that they want to attend North Texas. It creates some credibility for our program, when there had been very little in the past. However, eight months is a VERY LONG TIME......especially for teenagers.
