Defense was ok. Not great, but not bad. Showed flashes of stopping the run. Secondary was aggressive in the run game. D-Line and linebackers need to get more involved. More pass rush also. But didn't give up any big plays. Offense 1st team looked good. Scored almost every possession. Running backs a little banged up so didn't see them all. Stone was with 1st team QB. Looked accurate. Ran the offense well. Good timing with receivers. Cash was 2nd team QB. Looked solid. Good arm, but a little late on a couple of throws. Ran the ball well when he had to scramble. Reese was 3rd QB. Didn't do much. Missed some receivers and completed a couple of short passes. Overall a good scrimmage. Looked better than this time last year. O-Line will be solid. Kicker made a 51 yarder during live scrimmage. So that's good. Saw Chandler Morris there watching. Not very big. Smaller than Stone. Will be interesting to see how things play out this summer.22 points

He deserves to be the starter if he beats out Chandler Morris.21 points

Because our Tylor Perry transferred there for "greener NIL pastures" and they're now with us in the NIT. Abou Ousmane, who transferred to Xavier is also playing in the NIT. We would have won many more games, easily qualified for the NCAA Tournament, and probably made a very good run if both of those players remained at North Texas. They should have been star players on this years Cinderella team in the tourney, but have been relegated to the role of forgettable journeymen in mediocre seasons at their current schools. It's a high price to pay as they will both miss the tremendous exposure they would have received. Oh well.21 points

Kid was a class act, represented us well, daggered UAB to win the NIT, never said a bad word about us and left because of this F’ed up NIL that paid him a quarter of a million which would be hard to turn down. How about we treat him with the same class? Kid doesn’t deserve this. I was critical of him when he left, but he’s a class young man. Time to let it go.18 points

Layne's grandmother is bravely battling cancer and his decision was based on staying closer to her and the rest of the family as they support her during this difficult time. UNT did the right thing for this young man by letting him out of his signed NLI.17 points

Sriracha won the Corgi race. And it wasn't even close. Immediately entered the transfer portal. GMG17 points

Game wasn’t near as close as this score. Hit our FT’s and we win by 15+. Best overall game we have played in a while. Four more wins.16 points

I wish people on this board would stop being so condescending towards Stone. He wears the colors of UNT, thus he does not deserve to be bashed on this board daily. Please, have some respect for our all of our players.15 points

Thing is this guy comes in as a new HC with tons of new players, has his best player Tylor Perry bail along with his starting post Ousmane and tons of injuries all year long. This is one of the most remarkable coaching jobs I have ever seen especially from a 1st year coach. Ross Hodge has a very bright future in coaching and dare I say Jarrod made the right hire! Give you? This player disrespected Longwood and shows no loyalty or commitment. And you're fine with it... . . . . .14 points

This doesn’t really change anything for me. We went on the road and beat a team that beat us earlier in the season. That always feels good.14 points

You say the money is not life changing. At his age, if he puts $100K in a Roth fund, he is able to retire a multi-millionaire at 50. That is life changing.14 points

Bye And people wonder why interest is lagging and people don't want to go. Donate to the scholarship fund, donate to the facility's fund, donate to this collective or that for what? A kid that is just using us to move along? Getting more difficult to donate, to spend money on season tickets and to carve out time to travel to and from Denton for the games. This doesn't help. Love, A Scott. One of my all-time favorites because of the little things he does, but I honestly don't know where he thinks he will go to get more playing time.13 points

Let’s try and be better than this. TP had an opportunity and took it (handled his departure gracefully, must add). Abou made his own decision. We don't have that season without them. Just like we don’t beat Purdue without Reese. We can be successful with class, so let’s do it.13 points

My objection is with a Mean Green player leaving to represent another college. If they want to leave early for the NBA or overseas, then I don’t hold that against them. But if they are suiting up for another school then I hope they miss every shot they take and lose every rebound. *Unless they weren’t getting an opportunity to play here. Then I wish them well.12 points

https://writeforcalifornia.com/p/cal-spring-practice-offensive-questions-2024 Update on Cal QB battle. Call it off topic, I don't give a shit. This guy left us and a sure QB1 position to fight for the starting job at a barely P5 school. I hope he rides that GD bench all year and doesn't see a dime from the money they said he was getting.11 points

If he is graduating with a degree from UNT best of luck. If he is leaving for greener pastures without a degree, I hope it turns brown and he falls flat on his face11 points

Rubin has graduated right? Trying out somewhere else with his extra year sucks, but we got the full four years out of him. It's only because of covid that he even has this.10 points
