Wedding At The New Stadium

This was really fun. The Bride's family was dressed in Green and the Groom's family in White. The Bride's Mom fell a week or so ago and broke her ankle. she is the one in the wheelchair, although she was able to stand for pictures. These are great fans and they are looking foward to buying season tickets and watching Mean Green history. They've already made some Mean Green history by holding their wedding at the new stadium. It was windy Saturday, but everybody seemed to have a great time. I hope to see them in September when we beat Houston.

Thanks to the Bride and Groom.

greenjoe, after the bride and groom say "I do", can you take some new pictures of stadium construction and give us an update?

yes, can you please try and swing around and get some good shots of the student side. The webcam doesn't get a very good shot of that side.thumbsu.gif

Pics would be nice since the Green Gang staff has been tied up for the last ten days compiling the results of the football team's Mean Geen Olympics. Doubt there will be any new videos soon.

Where did the person in the wheel chair go? They were there in one shot and only the chair there in the next. Freaky. I hope they are okay.

Today, I am presiding over what I believe to be the first wedding ever at the New Mean Green Stadium. I'm writing this at 2:00 so things might change a bit, but right now the plan is for the wedding party to stand on the deck facing the stadium. This is a couple that went to North Texas and wanted to have their wedding on campus. When I suggested the stadium, they laughed and said the stadium was where they wanted to marry in the first place, but they didn't think I'd go for it. Funny how things work out.

Look for us during the 4:00 segment. I'll be the guy in the black gown.

That means he's one of us! Or, should we call him Your Honor?

NOW THAT is way cool. Thanks greenjoe for posting. Pretty special day for the bride and groom. I would imagine doing a wedding or two keeps you in pretty good spirits. It would me...happy times. I wish them all the happiness in the world and for their wedding present I hope the Mean Green beats the stuffing out of Houston on Sept. in the stadium where they were married...well, it's almost where they were married, so let's call it so.

CONGRATULATIONS>

Right before I showed these pictures to my wife, I said, "and you just thought I was a Mean Green Fanatic". Congratulations to the Bride and Groom! :goodjob:

Greenjoe, would the party involved be so kind as to share their names with us? Where are they registered!?!?

I wonder if they would renew their vows at halftime of the first game? This is the kind of thing that doesn't happen at North Texas...or at least it isn't very well publicized when it does.

We need to publicize this kind of fanatacism when it happens, so that others will know what to emulate.

We CAN have diehards...rabids...serious fricking fans!

If I meet this young couple during a tailgate, i will certainly buy them a beer, and toast to life-long love.

GMG!
