Why do many of you think Cotton is gone?

Strong team.

Just delete it. Not our conference and they suck. We have a couple of morons from that school that need to go away. Let ‘em post this crap on the Duke or UNC board. Then again, Duke is probably leaving the ACC to get away from them.

Why are you still here? Your infatuation with us is flattering but it is a tad Fatal Attraction. -
BREAKING: Jason Edwards to enter transfer portal
untlynchka1 replied to Jdawg48's topic in Mean Green Basketball
thats a nice scenario. I don't ever see their being a salary cap, though, the big $$ is always going to want to be able to have the advantage. My dream scenario is for them to set it up like soccer leagues with relegation and promotion. Man, that would be fun in college football. -
Not nearly as bad as the SJSU re-do with a building wall and some random beach loungers to watch the game from, lol...

USC basketball head coach Andy Enfield is reportedly leaving USC and taking the job as the SMU basketball head coach. ESPN's Pete Thamel reported earlier on Tuesday that Enfield had emerged as a "person of interest" for the SMU job. Later in the day, Rodney Peete of AM 570 LA Sportssaid that Enfield is leaving for SMU. Neither school or program has confirmed the news yet. BREAKING: Jason Edwards to enter transfer portal
NT80 replied to Jdawg48's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I believe Colleges will soon have to go to playing-contracts with athletes before much longer, similar to the NFL. Mainly to lock up players from moving after each season. The pay will have to be school-issued (but can be donor funded) with cap limits set on rosters determined by conference membership. Players can still sign endorsement deals outside the school playing contracts. But they can't leave for another school until either released from their current school contract, or stipulated buyout paid, or settlement agreement. Similar to NFL. A buyout from another school would help the athlete to move up in conferences and help the losing school recruit his replacement. -
I don’t know why we do the firing bit either.

Good player and contributed a lot to this team. I wish him well! -
LOL. He was 15-18 last season and on the hot seat to be fired. Glad you found a rescue dog to lead you into the ACC basement.
-
Color me underwhelmed in the hire. 15-18 for the 2023-24 season, 105-100 PAC-12 record, and has never won any kind of championship in 11 years in the PAC-12? Sounds more like you did USC a favor.

BREAKING: Jason Edwards to enter transfer portal
Andrew replied to Jdawg48's topic in Mean Green Basketball
But Dwight still stayed…. The transfer portal is a ridiculous concept. I can understand a single transfer, the constant jumping in and jumping out. That’s a problem. Basketball is a team sport and part of being on a team is being loyal. I’m sure part of the problem is also family and friends just whispering in peoples ears about the money. It’s not about basketball or the game or the team anymore. It’s all about me…. And that’s not how society should operate. (I understand it does at times…. But that should never be the norm). -

CMJ replied to Jdawg48's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I know you love The Office Andrew. Just think of players as Dwight Schrute and you'll be happy. Would I ever leave this company? Look, I'm all about loyalty. In fact, I feel like part of what I'm being paid for here is my loyalty. But if there were somewhere else that valued loyalty more highly, I'm going wherever they value loyalty the most. -
There's two other threads about SMU on here. Is a thread on firing is good why not hiring?

BREAKING: Jason Edwards to enter transfer portal
Andrew replied to Jdawg48's topic in Mean Green Basketball
At this point let’s just assume everyone doesn’t want to play or win…. This is just going to be everyone. I think it’s just cowards ball. Always run away and always about me. It’s the new norm apparently…. Can’t even celebrate a player we sign because they have done the same. Not fun anymore to be a fan…. -
Can we move this post to another forum. This has no reason to be here.

smash. 18.5 minutes as a true freshman (on an awful team)...second on the team in rebounding, fourth leading scorer, led the team in blocks (25...would've been second behind Scott, ahead of Allen last year) -
pass. looks like a bigger, but even less efficient version of Jason Edwards. Edwards - 19.1ppg, 15 shots/game - 42.5% FG, 35% 3pt, 1.4:2.3 assist:turnover Wicks - 13.7ppg, 12 shots/game - 39.6% FG, 31% 3pt, 1.8:3.2 assist:turnover

Uninspiring hire for an uninspiring school. Perfect fit.
