  1. Today
  2. Here's a couple who have been reached out to: "Heavy talks" with Jahni Summers, local product, but multiple D-I offers to compete with. Obviously, same CC as Tylor Perry. 26.5 PPG at any collegiate level is an eye opener. Hometown is Muskogee, OK, not a far drive from home...
  3. Interesting shot and I like how he can get to the basket, too. Also jealous of how close those Fairfield fans get to be to the action.
  4. Have these visitors already announced they've committed or still unannounced?
  5. From Chicago but local product who played at Keller Central. May not have been on anyone's radar because he was injured his senior season. https://sfajacks.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/latrell-jossell/4402
  6. Looks like he won a national championship in juco Before Fairfield: After winning an NJCAA National Championship at Northwest Florida State College, Floyd assumed a starting role in the backcourt at Hillsborough in 2022-23. The 6-3 guard ranked second on the Hawks with 14.7 points per game and led the team with 6.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest. Floyd played scholastically at Wharton High School in his hometown of Tampa, Fla.
  7. Second pick-up of the day, fourth overall from the transfer portal. I like the assists number. Hopefully Hodge and Forte get our offense moving more with guys like Floyd. Edit: This guy also has junior college experience AND winning. He won a NJCAA national championship with Northwest Florida State College. He's also from Tampa, so we could have a lot of supporters when we visit USF next season.
  8. An Auburn article speculates a depleted ACC would simply backfill. But this is seriously a stupid alignment of coast to coast leftovers.... "There will be a big game of musical chairs played when the ACC crumbles, but unlike the Pac-12, there is a contingency plan to keep the ACC alive: Memphis, Tulane, Wazzu, Oregon State, UConn, and USF making the jump from the Group of Five ranks." https://flywareagle.com/posts/acc-ensure-survival-having-at-least-15-schools-fsu-clemson-leave
  9. The scenario/Q that always lingers for me is will the big money conferences ever consider dropping their dead weight? If they do, it clearly signifies a move to a legitimate semi-pro farm system setup for the NFL in a very clear and concise manner. If they don't, money will continue to bleed into incompetent hands and they'll continue playing the charade of "student"-athlete all the while dragging us all through their circus like marionettes.
  10. As it stands now, I think it’s a valid question. What needs to happen is that the top 30 form their own league. That leaves the G5 with a lot of really good teams that would draw lots of interest. For example, if aTm and UT are the only “big boys” in Texas, there will be plenty of interest from Tech, Baylor, TCU, etc. Now, will my scenario ever happen? I doubt it as it’s too good to be true.
  11. Well they aren't going Big XII unless it's a backfill. They will probably be sour about the league losing its big money producers and align with Stanford and Cal trying to block any expansion candidate while holding out for a raid of Big Ten, or SEC or Big 12.
  12. 5-11, 175 lbs Scored 19 points in their conference tourney loss to UTA...7-11 FG, 3-5 3pt.... https://sfajacks.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2023-24/ut-arlington/boxscore/12408
  13. I like the big and the SFA guard. If the Longwood product keeps shooting like he did at Longwood to end the season then I'll like him, too. But... I respect them none.
  14. Defensively, yes. Offensively, I thought we had 2 Matthew Stones on the floor at times.
  15. I've been screaming for a mutually inclusive deal among G5s to set a standard visit fee for the better part of 15 years. I think interest wans incessantly if this happens. I don't hate the idea of it, but I hate the idea of UNT basically being relegated to how the FCS is generally viewed.
  16. This only works if there is complete separation. No games against the schools with giant budgets. And players want to get paid; they sign a contract: no transfers.
  17. If/when FSU leaves, the Seminoles and Clemson would likely be SEC-bound. UNC and UVA, which both have AAU accreditation, would join the Big Ten as basketball and academic fits. The Big 12 would likely try to poach Louisville, NC State, VA Tech, Pitt, and/or GA Tech. There will be a big game of musical chairs played when the ACC crumbles, but unlike the Pac-12, there is a contingency plan to keep the ACC alive: Memphis, Tulane, Wazzu, Oregon State, UConn, and USF making the jump from the Group of Five ranks. Enough ACC schools likely won't get invites to the other conferences since there's only so much revenue split current members will want to take part in, so with the Pac-2 schools and AAC programs making the jump, survival would be more than possible. The American would simply pluck programs from the Sun Belt and Conference USA, and those conferences would fold FCS schools that qualify for FBS membership into their ranks. 18. The proposal in the article is not 1-A and 1-AA again with separate playoffs. The proposed 8 regional G5 conferences and their champions would simply play a Tourney at the end of the regular season to determine the G5 representative into the larger, National CFP. I really don't know how they could do that many games. The G5 playoff would add 3 games beyond the regular 12 game season plus conference championship game = 16. Then the CFP could be another 3-4 games on top of all that =19-20 total games.
  19. I fixed it for you and added SMU when the ACC folds!
