How can I put this nicely ... that was not a good Mean Green podcast.  That was a good "let's talk about the good ole days living in Denton" podcast.  This would have been OK during the summer or during a slow time but this is the middle of spring ball.  I'm not the biggest Vito fan but it would have been better to have him on since he has actually watched the practices.

Yeah it was a pretty rough listen. I usually enjoy the podcast a lot but Harry talked about Alec Morris for about 5 minutes and that was the only spring ball(other than saying don't get too hyped) talk of the entire thing. Kind of disappointing.

I think they were avoiding certain topics because everything has been so negative lately.

I'm excited about the spring. I'm excited for the new coaching staff, and the new offensive/defensive schemes. I loved my time at UNT and love Denton as well. I think that goes without saying for 99.9% of us on this board. To me, talking about the excitement of spring ball is much more interesting, especially for those who have actually seen the practices. I don't think that's negative. Sure we're all ready for another beating this season because that's what we're used to. Just because most of us think RV is terrible at his job doesn't mean we still don't get excited about spring ball, especially a spring in which we will see schemes, plays, and coaching that will create an electric atmosphere and culture

Nail on the head...it wasn't a "football podcast".....we were keeping it light.....we wanted to wait until after the spring game to discuss what our thoughts were on the state of the team. We will do another after the spring game.

Thanks for listening.

Maybe you can give us a warning next time.  There's plenty of football to talk about this time of year.

Maybe, given the stature and expertise of the guest, the team could've picked his brain about ideas for advertising our new football product.

After that, the three hosts (or even just Harry, if he's the only one that's observed a practice) could've spent the rest of the time talking about players and coaches; especially those who are participating in spring drills.

I would have preferred more sports talk.  Although, it sounded a little like some of the posts on here; worried about Denton losing it's charm instead of just enjoying the current environment.  Much like losing successful coaches before they come close to reaching that status.

All that talk about the best bars and restaurants reminded me of how old I am,  being you had to go about 35 miles in any direction to make a legal alcohol purchase when I was a student.  Restaurants back than were more into volume and low cost than taste.  There is no comparison between Denton than and now, other than it was a great place to go to school in both eras.
