First off, Week 4 saw an excellent win...

There seems to be this weird Twitter relationship going on amongst a number of masked fans...

We learned that the numbers from the State audit are coming down...

...but we're still hella pissed that Chancellor Jackson gets a free pass in all of it.

But back to the game.

A couple of weeks ago, we thought Dajon would never see the field, and that with Baby Greer's ineptitude, we may be relegated to...

BUT ALAS! Dajon pulled through, was named the starter, and blew our f*cking socks off.

This of course leads to the inevitable GMG.com rush to nicknames and glorification.

Which is great.

But really, my favorite nickname was this one:

GO MEAN GREEN!

I certainly liked most of it but I think that demeaning players is a low blow. Neither Greer or McNulty have been the answer but they weren't on the field because it was handed to them. They have been there because of their hard work and dedication and they don't deserve disrespect because they weren't able to get it done.

I'm happy and pleased that Dajon Williams finally is putting forth that same attitude since he obviously has the most talent. I realize that outside factors influenced his focus during the off-season and early season. As far as I'm concerned you can't say enough good about Dajon but please don't ridicule any of our players.

I believe you're mistaken as to the nature of the ribbing. It's not like we're calling them terrible people or anything. They play football on a national stage. Criticism is part of the game and they should know that.

Do you boo them while they're on the field? Me neither. Was anyone else singled out? Are they the only two that failed to produce? As long as they are giving their best effort they should not be ostracized IMO. This is a team sport and they are part of the team. Maybe it's my upbringing. I was told that we win as a team or lose as a team. Just like the workplace, individuals can be praised in public but criticized in private. Do you think that this is a public forum? If you think that this is "good natured" ribbing then how would you feel if you were the "ribbee"?

Firstly, as a former college athlete, I absolutely have been the "ribbee" in that situation. I understand that sports on a large stage beget pressure and expectation. It's not for everybody. If they wanted to have their egos patted and to be handled with kid gloves they should have played intramural.

Secondly, put the "maybe it was my upbringing" card away. I have enough good sense to not be vitriolic and hateful towards players, as should anybody else. I will, however, be critical of their play as a fan. This isn't the little league world series. These are young adults.
