Was my post not good enough for ya, billy?

Lol, I was working on this one while you were posting yours. I'm kind of slow at making mine. Like to watch the player's film first and dig up some info on him before finishing making the thread. Basically, that's apologist terms for "you were quicker than me."

Wow. If this staff can't win these recruiting battles they might as well pack up shop and get to hiking.

You really do put the second syllable in knee-jerk. It was reported he had numerous offers. So either all of those coaching staffs are lame, or there is a bit more to this story. Should we be disappointed and concerned? Very possibly. But do we know for sure at this exact juncture in this specific situation?

La Grange is only about an hour away from San Marcos and the closest FBS school to him. Could be he wants his parents to come see him play or he could have a girl friend that will be going there, likes the coach etc.. With as many offers as he had there's likely a greater reason for choosing Texas State.

I get it there could be underlying reasons. Losing out on players to the likes of Texas State is becoming a trend, not an exception. We have to land the players of choice at the G5 level if we plan on EVER being relevant. I'm tired of watching us get beat out by crappy academic, isolated holes in the wall. Since I've been following we have lost 4-5 players to WYOMING. It's frustrating and IMO inexcusable. Do what it takes to get your guys here. If you can't recruit, you can't win.

No, not at all. But as far as the trend goes Mr. Kerry Walker says hello. They'll be more in this year alone. I am sure Billy can pull up handfuls for you if he so chose to.

Also, a lot of the commits we got who had Texas State offers committed to us early in the process. Whereas whenever they would get commits with UNT offers it was mainly later in the process, when we were no longer recruiting that kid. But we've definitely gotten the better of them on the trail.

Billy, let's not try to push an agenda. I was also referring to losing out on players to the LIKES of Texas State, for the third time. Not just Texas State. Texas State, Astate, ULL, utsa, Wyoming, etc. I am pretty sure we also lost a couple guys to Idaho last year or the year before. These are programs that we should never lose out on players. The only exception would be if a given recruit grew up from a given town. UNT offers more than any of those programs named. You can add UTEP to that list. If it wasn't for the academic prestige down at Rice you could add them to that list. Also, who wants to go live in Ruston for 4 years? I know La Tech is trying to renovate their stadium, but that might be the worst FBS stadium/facilities I have ever been to. It rivals Fouts.
