Nov 29th we're playing UTSA during the final stretch of the season.. Frankly I'm extremely worried we're gonna get our butts handed to us. Did some heavy researching and it looks like most of their team is gonna be seasoned juniors and seniors. That plus their insanely hard schedule will keep em on them pretty strong.. Personally I see this as a loss for Mean Green.. Thoughts? :growl:

Last year, we were a better team.. we thought they were just going to just let us take the conference title. We were wrong. dead wrong.. that UTSA game will haunt my dreams until we destroy them. There are so many things that can happen between now and the day that our team walks into the Alamo dome... let's just focus on the game at hand.. BEAT TEXAS..

I think everything is a question mark and we don't even think or worry about UTSA until we see how things play out over the course of the games prior to that one. Right now it's about workouts and team/player development for the best showing possible against UT. How we roll at the end of August will probably be a good way to gauge how well the rest of the season will go. UTSA isn't even on the radar until we see how good the team is and how we look over the course of the first 5-6 games.

Strange post. Yes, looking at things based on returning starters, UTSA should be favored. But some things we won't have any idea about until we've seen both teams take the field a couple of times. Question marks sometimes work out in your favor.

And I don't know why that game would be singled out for an "uh, oh." Every team in C-USA has more returning starters than we do.

You are about 6 months behind. However, as a fan I'm not worried about utsa.

I see Correcamino has a new screen name. Poor junior college.

UTSA isn't even close to the best team our team plays. I think the biggest dog fight for us is SMU. I am going to be hated by my wife next year either way. I will be attending the home games as well as UTSA, UTEP, Rice and wherever we play in a bowl game. Yes, I said it. Not a jinx either.

Sure am glad to see I'm not the only one who's so worried about UTSA. Why just this morning some of my cereal happened to arrange itself into the shape of a disembodied road runner head and - oh what a fright. I'm hoping the NCAA will come to its senses and banish these mighty competitors to the NFL where they belong. If we could just get them off the schedule we probably would go undefeated. It's so unfortunate that UTSA is the only thing standing in the way of our dreams. They only taunted us by sending their players to masquerade as North Texas players and win the HOD bowl for us. Now they are scheming to take it all away by bringing out their seasoned juniors and seniors to destroy our team next season. And the seasoning is mesquite flavor too. Oh the humanity!

UTSA is the favourite to take the division inmy books... if they find a servicable QB. Not a given. They bring back the most proven talent. We are playing at their place. People don't like to hear it, but this is a rebuilding year for UNT.

That said, the tough schedule of UTSA is not necessary an advantage. Playing teams that are bigger and better may lead to a more battle hardened team, but it can also lead to a more banged up team with more key injuries. And playing them in november and not in october is definetly raising UNTs chances of beating them, since we have to get more players to habituate on being in the spotlight and have more positions to find out who is a player on gamday and who is only player when during practice
