2014 OL Brad Lundblade (6’3, 285, 4.69 shuttle) of Liberty Christian School in Texas claims a verbal offer from North Texas, but he’s just scratching the surface on his recruitment. “I’m getting interest and camp invitations from Texas, Kansas St., Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, Michigan, and Texas A&M.”

He says Kansas St., Texas, and Michigan are showing him the most interest currently.

Last season, Lundblade earned all-state Honorable Mention and first team all-district honors. He also throws the discus and shotput for the track team.

Coaches were smart to get in on him early. That offer came in the fall.

He's a true road grader with a nasty habit of pancaking defenders. He's been starting since his freshman year and made 1st team all-state this year.

And for those worried about level of competition, this year alone he saw front 7 players committed to TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Air Force and Ole Miss.

Aren't there several Liberty coaches who played at / coached at NT?

I don't know about coaches, but James Mitchell (RB) played at Liberty and had a nice career at NT. He never really started due to playing during the Cobbs/Thomas, but he hammered Arkie State for 166 yards in the last game of the 04 season.

Lundblade decides to walk on at Okie State --- ULM fans still hopeful he will accept their full ride offer:

- Oklahoma State picked up one heck of a walk-on. Despite holding offers from the likes of Nevada, SMU, Tulsa and Wake Forest, Argyle Liberty Christian offensive lineman Brad Lundblade decided to commit to the Cowboys as a preferred walk-on.

When your parents have the money, sometimes scholarship offers are no better than walk-on offers.

Like Luke Del Rio (Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio's son), who was actually the qb at Valor Christian after Berglund left, turned down a scholarship offer to play qb at Oklahoma State in favor of a walkon opportunity at Alabama. After his first year this year he is already transferring. Unfortunate these kids who've had everything handed to them don't know what to do when things aren't.

I really hope you weren't referring to Lundblade here.

This is the problem when people pretend to know anything about a kids individual situation, decision making process or character.

It's too easy to make throwaway comments like this one.

True. It was not stated well, but it was not intended to be a knock on Lundblade's character. Talking about Del Rio's situation. Again, not knocking his character either but from what I've read he was not given the opportunity at Bama as a walkon that he would've been given had he accepted his scholarship to Ok State. That's good Oregon State offered him. Choosing to pass on offers in favor of walking on at Bama was a very dangerous move. He made a good decision IMO. Especially making that decision before he used up too much of his eligibility. Edited by BillySee58
