Gary Brewster, Andrew Everest, David Lattin, James Munyala and Kim Turner will be inducted as the 11th class of the UTEP Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the Larry K. Durham Center Hall of Champions.

Three sports are represented in the class of 2012 as two men’s basketball players, two track stars and a football player have been chosen to join an elite group of Miner alums.

A member of the football team from 1947-51, Everest was the center linebacker. Everest was co-captain of the 1950 squad and participated in the 1949 and 1950 Sun Bowl. He was named to UTEP’s Men of Mines list and Who’s Who Amongst American Colleges. Everest has 43 years of coaching experience at the collegiate and professional level, serving as an NFL assistant coach under Bum Phillips with the New Orleans Saints and as player personnel director for the Minor League Football League. He also served as athletic director at the University of North Texas. Everest was inducted into the All-American Football Foundation’s Hall of Fame in 1997 as an outstanding assistant coach.
