So, did Brian Waters suck in College, or what?  Isn't he the best linemen in the NFL currently????

If memory serves me correct, Waters never really settled in to a position at North Texas. He played DL, OL, TE, H-back, etc... No, he didn't suck, the coaches just never committed to having him play and concentrate on one position.

Yeah, Lifer's right. Brian started out as a TE......was a pretty good TE. As a matter of fact, after three years, he was on course to break Luis Silva's all-time receptions record for a TE. Well, then DD was hired. DD and his staff turned Brian into a two-way player, playing him at DT and TE. And even though Brian only needed 10 receptions his senior year to break the aforementioned record, he never had a chance. (As Dickey and his OC never threw to the TE that year).

So, Brian is great in the NFL.......but he wasn't an O Lineman at NT. And at the positions he played (TE and DT), he wasn't good enough to beat out others on this list, IMHO.

I have two playing out of place, Glen Holloway at OT and Booger Kennedy at DE. The other two guards, Zuniga and Carrico were better than our next best tackle (Bowles) IMO. Had Booger had a healthy four years he'd likely have been my number two but Bill Bishop was an outstanding tackle at NT and went on to have a 10 year career with the Chicago Bears. Had I not put Booger on my all-time team that spot would have gone to Corbin Montgomery.

Except for Jamario, I don't see any that have yet to finish their college career replacing an all-timer. Quinn probably has the ability but I don't see him getting enough chances thrown his way to reach the top.

I'll take Jamario Thomas. Before its all said and done he will be one of the best RB's to come out of NT... PC won't get drafted IMO... JT is the best shot we have at having an offensive player drafted in a while. He is going to continue to be something phenomenal at NT

And yes, I have a job I enjoy very much (obviously)  biggrin.gif

My favorite imitation of Benedict Arnold at Quaterback for North Texas had to be that great gift to opposing defensive secondaries, Richard Bridges. In fact, he has probably made some of our past opponents "most valuable opposing quarterback lists." Not don't diss me for bringing up his name. He holds a spot in my heart, but I think some 409 will get it out!

If this is going to be "since 1975" then I have to almost totally agree with you, with the following adjustments/additions.

I would put Jordan Case above Ken Washington. I also consider Joe Stevenson (played the 1980 season....#10 on your program) worthy of being on the list of QB's.

DT/NT- How can we leave Rex Johnson (#56 on your program) off the list?

LB- Lester Harper- smallish but VERY MEAN.

DB- Jay Saad (#17 on your program) solid player from El Paso who was ALWAYS in position and ALWAYS around the ball.

Also, J.T. Smith (#44 on your program) probably the best safety to ever play at NT.

PK- Iseed Khoury
